I love Joann's! I shop there frequently. I love all Big Twist yarn but I use the Big Twist Value mostly. I've made several blankets with it. I do like the Big Twist Living. That color you have is beautiful! I think its going to look awesome on that blanket.

I live in Windsor Ontario. We don't have Joann's here so I have never tried big twist. The edging is looking pretty good. I shop at Walmart and Michael's. I like Red Heart and use it but, I really like Bernat, it is really soft. I just got some "I love this yarn" from Hobbii Lobby and it really is soft. I also got some Yarn Bee Sugarwheel from Hobbii Lobby and I really love it. My favorite Big Twist is their Twinkle. The white is best one, I think. Tons of yardage for a sparkly yarn (300+ yards) and often you can get it on sale close to $2 - $2.50 a skein.) Reds pretty too.

Also. I think we all need to remember, and to teach people new to crochet...That those SUGGESTED hook sizes are just that, suggested. If anybody is working on a new project, try different hook sizes. You are the artist. A different size hook can change any idea, or pre-done, pattern drastically. There is no pre-determined hook size for ANY yarn. I don't do swatches as a rule. But I'm often known to change around hooks on row 1 just to see what I like best. No rules. Just luxurious creating.

That rainbow is so pretty! I like the Big Twist with the sparkles in it. I got it on sale probably around last May and it was on sale so they only had the blue and red left. It is so pretty and I am probably going to use the red this Christmas for my projects ;) So far I really like all the Big Twist yarns. I really like big twists value acrylic, I'm not sure exactly what it's called. I think it's a good price and it feels much better than red heart in my opinion. And for most people it's pretty easy to get your hands on.

Hi Kayla! Your project is awesome, as always. Thank you for showing this beautiful variegated Big Twist yarn. I think it's a bit expensive at full price, but $3.00 per skein seems like a great deal. I've purchased the Value Worsted and love that it comes in so many colors. The thing I don't like about Big Twist is that they say it has to be dried flat, not in a machine. I did make a scarf and washed/dried it by machine with no noticeable problem. However, for amigurumi that isn't likely to be washed, I think it's great.

Hi Kayla, so happy to hear you get to see your Dr today. I enjoy working with Big twist yarns, it is softer than most value yarns. I struggle working with most value yarns because of the rougher texture and they don’t slide off the hook very easily. Good luck with your project.

Love how the border is coming out. I haven't tried many types of Big Twist. The value yarn piles quite a bit so I haven't gone to using it.

Because it is so soft and a great price! They have online coupons as well as mailers!

I don't go to JoAnns much at all and it's about 3 miles from my house. I had a bad experience there once. I do go to Hobby Lobby and Michaels often and they are only about 2 miles from me. I LOVE that yarn with little sections and then longer sections. It's still in the rainbow pattern just the color before and after are mixed in a bit. I love the blanket Kayla.

That rainbow 🌈 yarn is very pretty. I haven't used the big twist on anything other than my mini pumpkins. I will have to buy some more in different colors and see how I like them. I did notice that the orange in that brand is very bright for the mini pumpkins 🎃 I make.

Hi Kayla maybe with this particular color way you may have put in a pop of white or cream color if it is next to a red or any of the other colors depending on which skies of yarn you use and how you use it sometimes the stitch plays a part to.thank you for sharing

I have some Big Twist twinkle. I haven't crocheted with it yet, but it is really soft with some metallic thread running through it. It is 4 weight, 380 yards, uses a H hook. Can't remember what I paid for it as I have had it for a while. It would make for some nice Christmas gifts. I think the rust color is their red color.

I kind of like how it zips back to the previous color, very cool. The rust works on my computer, it looks more like a darker red. In Canada I can order from Joann's online but we can't get everything. So far I have only tried the Big Twist Value but it seems like a good value yarn.

I love variegated yarn. When I started crocheting they only had solids and variegated yarn. I don't remember using Big Twist but may have. A tip with Joann's. Get their app on your phone. If you know when you're going back and Big Twist is on sale you can order online, pay for it to pickup. Now having the app you will get notifications that when they have 20 or 25% off coupons the whole purchase even if on sale. That's when I pick up some of my higher price items. I just got a 25% off online purchase and I could order online pickup at the store. Unfortunately I had no extra money. I use my debit card. You can save a lot of money that way. I used to do it alot that way. That would have been an additional 1.50 off 2 skeins. The coupon can't be used on clearance or magazines. I'm not sure about the books. That yarn is working up beautifully. I just picked up a skein of Red Heart ombre at Walmart. So beautiful. I think I'm going to use it for amigurumi for the Yarn Fairy projects for Crystal. Donating hats are awesome. A couple years ago my BFF and I made over 150 fleece scarves for our school district Operation Help a Neighbor program at Christmas. Those sewing machines were just buzzing right along as we chatted away. It was so cool seeing the kids faces wearing their brown scarves with white dog prints on them. I used a coupon on the bolts of fleece when it was on sale and I think we saved about another 100 dollars on top of the sale price. You'll never find me spending full price on yarn or material unless it's at Walmart. The yarn is really popping out on the blanket. Great job my friend. Good morning Kayla. Good to see you crocheting this morning. I finished my 3rd baby blanket in one week last night. BTW do you ever sell your creations? I love the blanket and koala set you made. The panda set will be so cute too. I've only used Big Twist value and sparkle yarns and love both. I used Big Twist Value yarn for fill in blocks on a blanket I made my youngest grandson. Just a note you can wash and dry it just dry on low or med low setting. Blessings and prayers to you and your hubby as you face your health problems.

I went to Joann's today before a Drs apt. I was disappointed no variegated colors of the living yarn. Yes it was on sale 2 for 6.The solid colors are muted at my store. I'm getting on line to look for variegated colors. Thanks for the heads up.

Wish we had big stores that sell yarn. But even so our shops don't have regular sales. Only online stores have some sort of sales but you have to buy such a lot to avoid stupidly high shipping costs. I don't usually want or need to buy $50or60 worth of yarn. Not to worry usually find something and I am trying to use some of the yarn I already have 🤣🤣🤣🤗😊
