    What's mothery?

  • @storybellz

    @storybellz

    Actually, I think it's mostly the other way around. Joan is the real motherly one. She's the one who stayed by Cherie and Lita's bedsides when they were in the hospital at different times during the Runaways (none of the others did), she's also someone who keeps little notes and things people give her just because she is so sentimental. Joan's outer shell might be "badass" but the truer, deeper her is a very shy, sentimental, romantic, even religious woman. Joan is also very cautious and doesn't even drive a motorcycle because of the safety hazards. Contrast this with someone like Cherie, who throws caution to the wind every day with her dangerous chainsaw business, and you'll begin to see what I mean... Don't let their looks or reputations fool you to who they really are.

    @@storybellz that’s the most ridiculous comment I’ve heard 😂 because one drives safe and one has a chainsaw business makes one motherly! Joan doesn’t even have kids I think that makes you very very unmotherly as you are not one! Cherie worked with people in addiction fgs and has kids!

  • @storybellz

    @storybellz

    @@MrThedonhead Nuns don't have kids and are some of the most motherly people on the planet! For that matter, I don't have kids but I have two nieces just like Joan has a niece, and I have a goddaughter just like Joan has two goddaughters, and I get told ALL THE TIME that I would be a great mother! Furthermore, there are plenty of women who have kids but are extremely nonmaternal in general! You are confusing being a mother with being motherly. NOT always the same thing! The fact that you said my comment is ridiculous goes to show that your understanding of human nature needs work, that you really don't get woman, AND that you are sorely lacking in manners! Peace-out.

    She was my childhood inspiration . I brought her and Pat Benatar to show and tell every Friday in Kindergarten . My teacher remembered it 30 something years later when I ran into her at the store . She said I rocked out all the classroom instruments like no other and refused to learn anything else . Funny , because I ended up becoming a first grade teacher . I had to resign 14 years in due to a brain tumor . 41 years old now and learning the drums . You are never to old to what your heart calls and desires . Desire is fulfillment so fill your life with love and happiness and have fun doing it ! I will always " love rock n roll " and forever be grateful to these greats ..

    Brandie Tuttle Best of luck to you, I hope you’re well. I was a first grade teacher, and I would have the kids listen to classic rock in the morning to expose them to music that they probably wouldn’t have heard at home because it wasn’t on the local top 40 station. You are too young to have been in my class, but I would have loved to have you as a student!

    To give up any addiction you have to be able to face and heal your innermost dragons, traumas and unresolved emotional issues. They are what's behind the addiction - unhealed wounds. They are the real problem. Addiction is a symptom of those unhealed wounds and traumas.

    I was born in '77 and a very young boy when MTV first hit the airwaves. I first fell in love with rock and roll then and Joan, you were my first serious crush... I'm 41 now and still have a huge crush on you! What's not to love: You're strong, you have a rock and roll brain, unparalleled beauty, style, grace, conviction in your beliefs, and oh.... you can shred the $#!+ out of any guitar! I have two daughters now who are 4 & 5. I think/thought from vey early on that they needed to know girl's kick serious ASS! While I haven't played in a band in years, I still slam away at my basses writing my own stuff and picking up new songs that I like to cover... My daughter's two favorites right now are "Barracuda" and, of course, "I Love Rock & Roll." I plug in and play along while the girls dance, lipsink and watch the videos. My girls are absolutely fascinated by you and i wouldn't have it any other way. I'll never forget being in the kitchen and feeling a tug on my pant leg. It was my older daughter who was 4 at the time. She looked up at me with a little bit of a scowl and said, "Dad, can we go into the music room and play some of that hard rock and roll?" I shit you not, I cried before telling her through tears "YES!" NO FEELING LIKE THAT IN THE WORLD AND YOU'RE THE REASON! Thanks so much for being an inspiration to so many people and on so many levels... even inspired me to be a vegetarian now as well... you opened my eyes to the environmental consequences of the meat industry... Yuck... don't want to be a part of that any more... Thanks for the inspiration and for planting your foot firmly in the ass of any challenges that have come to you. You are awesome... Music lessons start soon, and next year my girl's are "Runaways/Blackhearts" for Halloween!

    To be honest, I for one feel that there's very little heart and soul in todays music. To me, a lot of it sounds too much like mass production and not art.

    @NarniaFan105 ITs that creative energy from the universe we all have. Some have managed to flow much more of the universal energy through their body that keeps them youthful like Joan.

    Damn, I love these gals. The only thing I do not agree with is that Cherri says being addicted to drugs is a disease. It's not a disease, it's a choice. You chose to do drugs . Deal with the side effects. I'm speaking from years of experience of foolishly doing drugs.

    I would love to hear one famous person say they regret the years of drug abuse, acknowledge the risk they put their lives in, ruining themselves and what they hold dear, and vow to never joke or make light of it again. They almost always glorify their years of addiction, it makes me ill. It is so hypocritical to me.

    I just watched film. Blimme as teenage girls they still had so much grown ups to do and back then their producer simply threw them onto the road and let them swim on their own. Frankly, I wudn't be able to handle all that even now let alone when I was a teenager.

    They became self aware at a young age. Cherie barely survived. She was my favorite Runaway. After seeing the movie, Foxes, I believed she had found a better future. She was better than Jodie Foster in that movie.

    What Joan Jett said at the end has much credence. That's why Stevie Nicks is still living. A plastic surgeon was strong enough to tell her that she had a massive hole in her nose and could have a fatal brain hemorrhage.

    AJ Muzik don't believe that story...I recall it was said she could put a hanky up one nostril An come out other side because of the hole....An with medical knowledge, we all have the same hole...people use Nettie pots for allergies An u put it up one nostril an it comes out other one....say yeah, not a true story...An if anyone gets problems from too much coke, it affects the bone up there

    Without YT we would never have seen this video. A topic usually avoided. Sadly. Ironically everyone that wants to be a "rockstar" wants the live "the lifestyle". It's part of it in addition to making good music. The more "fun" you have the more likely people will develop addictions. Some are able to walk away from it in time.... it's odd. I think most people know what they are in for but still go down that road. Not just "addictions" but e.g. people who pick MMA/boxing as sports. they 9deep inside) know the risks (e.g. blows to the head costs.....each one....can't heal from brain damage....or internal injuries...fully). ...some people pick fighting because they DON'T hae a choice ....to get out of poverty. If we ca choose NOT TO.....
