She was so much more versatile than often given credit for. Thanks for this, it really proves what a frickin' great film legacy she left us.

Sad that her legacy is not more known and acknowledged outside of true cinema circles. She broke societal taboos about dance and showing skin in the silent era and then volunteered to usher MGM into the talkies era. Everyone was petrified and she volunteered to be first heard. That alone should make her a not only a top screen legend but a cultural one as well. Number #10 on that list of greatest actresses is fair, but in terms of legacy and lasting star power she is easily #1. I guess part of the problem is unless you commit yourself to seeing much of old hollywood cinema, like you would in a cinema class or as a cinema buff, you might just not know her history and huge body of work. But what I never will understand is why people actively dislike her. Most of the book is so easily debunked it's laughable and the movie was absurd levels of camp.

One of my all time favorite actresses. She was incredible at her art. She deserved the Oscar for Possessed in 1946 and an Oscar nomination for What Ever Happened to Baby Jane in 1962. She was as good as Betty in that movie. Good job with the me video. This made me cry.

What I love about Crawford, is not so much her acting abilities, but her drive and determination to better herself. She really had no role model to emulate from her upbringing, so she had to learn and assimilate from others that she came in contact with as a young adult. What a lucky break she got when MGM hired her for a six month option contract (if they didn't like her, they could terminate her at the end of the six months). She was like a sponge, absorbing everything and everyone around her. MGM gave her voice lessons, taught her how to walk, how to dress, and molded her into a movie star, covering up and concealing her sorted past. This was a woman who craved a better social status for herself and fought like hell to achieve it. It's the good old American success story.

Where's Letty Lynton from 1932? I know the film was eventually shelved because of copyright issues, but at the time it was a big hit for Crawford. It even inspired the famous Letty Lynton dress Crawford wore on the film.

This video is simply amazing. I have no words. I cried a little, I must confess. You missed Letty Lynton, but the film is very rare, just as rare as some of her early silent films. If I'm not mistaken, 8 of her silent films are reported as lost. You could have included promotional stills of those films, but your concept was too good to be ruined. Congrats! Very touching indeed.

Thank you, thanks for all of us who love Joan. There are two faces I can look at over and over , and forget , my troubles, sadness, loneliness..... , captivating, fascinating, magnificent faces, of course Joan Crawford and Catherine Deneuve, and I am convince that both, Scott brothers, Ridley and Tony had a deep fascination with Joan's beauty and strength , I have seen plenty of scenes in their movies that were straight out of Joan's movies. Rachel : Sean Young in Blade Runner...hair..shoulder pad..is so Joan.. Miriam : Catherine Deneuve in the Hunger with Bowie is so Joan as well.... nice tributes... and I have , carefully watched all of their movies and they included so many scenes that came without any doubts from Crawford's filmography. Anyway thanks again, very touching homage.

Joan Crawford was underrated, especially in Dancing Lady n Possed also in WEHTBJ, why wasn't she nominated for Best Supporting Actress, yes Bette Davis stole the show, but Joan Crawford was more convincing playing up to Davis , she made you really believe she was the Victim, until that Shocking ending.. in Johnny Guitar and Autuam leaves she was Awesome, actually all of her films were very entertaining and she was always believable in the roles she portrayed. Thumps up to JOAN CRAWFORD.
