Jnr Vigi - Gemu 'Wareana (Tribute to Late Wilfred)

This song is about how a couple lost their first born son just days after he came into the world.
The song is sung in Keapara and Alomarubu
The story goes, that in Alomarubu custom, the father is not allowed to carry or hold the baby until he compensates or does a kaikai for his wife's family. Only then can he hold the baby.
So the couple were planning for that before the baby was born.
They were so glad and full of joy when the baby was born, only to have their hearts broken after not so many days.
So the father did not hold his baby while he was still alive. He only held his baby when it was too late.
Hope you all enjoy this song!
