JL vs. JK on Chinaman Gulch - Two Doors Only

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Complete details about this trail and others can be found at trailsoffroad.com/all-access?d...
We joined a fellow contributor with Trailsoffroad.com to run the iconic and challenging Chinaman Gulch trail. Tim just so happened to have the all new JL Rubicon with the Hybrid 2.0 engine and I was in the old JK. We both had very similar suspension setups and tire size so it made for a great comparison on this relentless trail.

Great video! This is one I want to film myself... my buddy in a KL wheels with me and pushes it, but I’m nervous about doing this one with him. Then again, he probably wouldn’t be nervous. Also, thanks for the 2 door content!

We appreciate you watching and leaving the comment. It's a pretty rough trail in some sections. I definitely used the lockers more then I thought I would. In my experience and opinion, it's definitely over the KL's limits. Climbing up the early section is hard and you need some good rocker protection. 2 doors rule!

Xploremor yea, I looked into it more, he’s getting bigger and tougher, but not till he gets more protection. I feel confident with my 2 door, but I want to do it after Holy Cross and Mt. Blanca. However, really great video, I do something similar aimed towards stock vehicles (which I include the Rubicon, but I wheel it like I wheeled my TJ sport... most of the time).

2 door way to go most guys I see wheeling either one or two at most in that jeep. I thought family would like 4 wheeling they hated it kids went once said they were board wife went a few more times then just me in a 4 door jeep always getting hung up on stuff so long. My advice don't get a 4 door kids hate 4 wheeling.

How many wheelers wear headphones on the trail? ZERO! That’s because when crawling, hearing and reacting to the sounds your ride makes is critical. Blasting viewers with worthless background music denies them a huge part of that experience. Thank you for including segments WITHOUT annoying background music!

How far did you drive offroad at low speeds? No DPF regen crap with the ecodiesel? I had the 1st generation ecodiesel in a grand cherokee, powerful engine and awesome mpg, but had several problems with the DPF system. Hope they got that straight now. Would love to have another one in the 2d jl.

The owner hasn't had any issues when crawling or on high summits. I heard from another owner of a four dour diesel that had issues on two summits above 11,000 feet. Apparently it shutdown twice on him because of low hybrid batteries. Just died in the middle of the climb. He was going very slow in 4-low. He stated the dealership is allowing him to trade it for a standard V6. Thanks for watching and the comment.
