The Rubicon is the top trim level, featuring the most capable off-road equipment. The JL has a 44-degree approach angle on its two-door Rubicon edition. Ground clearance measures 10.8 inches(274mm) for the Rubicon. Water fording depth measures 30 inches(762mm).
Rubicon models get the Rock-Trac system with an enhanced NV241 OR transfer case as standard,[6] as well as a front sway-bar disconnect system and hydraulic rebound stop. The Rubicon will also feature an electronic locking differential, which allows the driver to lock either the rear differential only or both the front and rear differentials via a toggle switch located in the center of the instrument panel. It has a Dana 44 M210 axle in the front, and for the rear there is a Dana 44 M220 axle (4.10 axle ratio).[11] The Tru-Lok electric lockers can be engaged on the fly at up to 30 mph in 4WD low-range.
The Rubicon adds off-road features to the Sport S, such as 33-inch BF Goodrich KO2 off-road tires, seventeen-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with gray-painted accents, electronic-locking front and rear axles, Rock rails, high clearance fenders and premium cloth seating surfaces. Touch sensors located on the front door handles, and tailgate handle for Rubicon equipped with Remote Proximity Keyless Entry option.
Additional options include LED front headlamps with daytime running lamps (DRL's), polished aluminum-alloy wheels with black-painted pockets, Keyless Enter-'n'-Go, a steel bumper group, leather-trimmed seating surfaces, and color-keyed fender flares. The Rubicon offers a color-keyed dashboard panel. The 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6 gasoline engine still remains available from the existing Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, and is standard on all models, though has been redesigned for improved fuel economy. The engine features an Aisin AL6 six-speed manual transmission as standard equipment, with an 850RE Torqueflite eight-speed automatic transmission being optional. The automatic transmission made its debut in the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2), replacing the older Torqueflite 845RE unit. The eight-speed automatic unit will feature a traditional shifter. The engine performance is unchanged from the previous model at 285 hp (213 kW; 289 PS) and 260 lb⋅ft (353 N⋅m). This is only offered on Wrangler models sold in North America, Australia and New Zealand.
A 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder (Inline-4) Chrysler Hurricane engine is available on all models. Paired exclusively with the 850RE Torqueflite eight-speed automatic transmission, the new engine features a mild hybrid system branded as eTorque for improved fuel economy and off-road performance, and produces 270 hp (201 kW; 274 PS) and 295 lb⋅ft (400 N⋅m) combined. This is the only gasoline engine offered in Europe. In North America, this engine had late availability, and the Wrangler was launched with the existing 3.6L Pentastar V6 gasoline engine.[citation needed]
For the North American market Jeep has announced that a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 turbodiesel engine, built by VM Motori and available in 2020 (same engine already available in the Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2) and the Ram 1500.[14]) It will produce approximately 260 hp (194 kW; 264 PS) and 442 lb⋅ft (599 N⋅m).[citation needed]
For the rest of the world (except North America) a 2.2L 16V Multijet II turbo four-cylinder diesel engine producing 200 hp (149 kW; 203 PS) and 450 N⋅m (332 lb⋅ft) with Start&Stop is available.[citation needed]
Jeep has also announced that a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle will be released in 2020. All roof systems are new for 2018. The interior roll bar has been redesigned to accommodate the new roof systems. The JL will offer three roof options called Freedom Top hardtop, Sunrider soft top and Sky One-Touch Power Top.

    Thank you for posting this 37s on stock wheel. I love how it looks. I’m getting a Gladiator Rubicon soon and sadly the stock wheel looks better than most aftermarket wheels. I’m probably going to put a 1-2 inch of spacers to make it work better.

    Love your videos! I'm thinking of going the Pro Comp 2" lift for my 2 door JLR. Do you remember if the front spacer and rear spacers are both the same height? Many spacer lifts are a bit taller up front to compensate for the 4 door factory rake.

    Dude thank you so much!! So glad you enjoy our videos!!! The pro comp 2 inch spacer lift is an equal 2 inches front to back...which I actually wanted because I wanted the Jeep looking level on the Highway and I don’t mind it being raked .5 to .75 inches to the front like factory...adding the winch for me didn’t change the front elevation much probably because I went with synthetic rope to save weight and a light bumper for the same reason and to subtly change the jeeps look...thanks man hope this helps!!!

    @@rockquestoff-road2839 Thanks for confirming. The 2 door comes factory opposite rake (front rides higher) so want to make sure the lift won't exaggerate it further. I got the Arcus bumper too just need to find time to install it. Keep the great content coming :)

    Yes it is! Just a recommendation and not the general rule…no issues with running a bit narrower wheel it only helps you off-road hold your bead better at lower PSI like a poor mans beadlock…been running narrower wheels on multiple vehicles for 20 years with zero issues. Love the deep backspacing on the stock wheels too for reduced scrub radius 👍🏻👍🏻

    The shocks are fine it rides well they are strong gas charged monotubes and handle the 37s perfectly as well also...the issues are the shock length so the shock extensions work fine for daily driving but off road you lose droop...the shocks just don’t have the stroke to properly benefit from the lift...I still have mine and I am able to go up pretty much any 4 rated trail at my park no problem...in the future though I want to have proper length shocks to achieve more flex to benefit my stability on ledges and rocks on hill climbs etc when I start lifting tires...hope that helps!

    The 315/70/R17 (35) size fits The rear bumper and tire carrier perfectly and does not need any more reinforcement on the hinges… The speedometer according to my brother is off by a little more than 1 mph… Which is not a big issue at all and the traction control and stability control still function seamlessly… On the highway you will still use 8th gear a lot unless you have a strong headwind...but it’s not much different than stock....my Jeep has 37s and I never see 8th...usually 6th and sometimes 7th on level roads at speed

    Nice, any issues now that you’ve been running it? I’m leaning towards keeping my JT stock wheels (17x7.5) and mounting 37’s with a 3.5” lift (sport s model). This will free up some cash to go with a full control arm set. I might go with a spacer which my shop recommended.

  • @rockquestoff-road2839

    @rockquestoff-road2839

    3 жыл бұрын

    No issues at all! And the tire shop just recommends spacers because they don’t know any other method…. I just adjusted my steering stops out a couple turns to keep the tire from touching the control arm when I turn… I totally don’t notice any loss of turning radius…Having stock wheels keeps the tightness and responsiveness of the stock steering… When you put spacers on or a wider offset wheel you increase the scrub radius when you turn which can cause wandering and loose steering… Also it’s nice to not put any additional pressure on the ball joints and tie rod ends than you have to…No spacers also helps the tires fit that much better in the wheel wells especially when turning on the front they don’t have such a wide arc
