Yeah, I work in a school. Call for a show of hands in a classroom of how many kids have read and seen Harry Potter, you're going to get almost everyone reacting. Ask who thinks that she's transphobic or evil or whatever else, the kids haven't heard of it or they have and don't care. JK's reputation has only been "sunk" in terminally online spaces; it's important not to assume what gets said on social media actually permeates the real world.

I think the reason why they hate her in particular so much is precisely because of how spectacularly they failed to do so. Cancel culture's power lies in going after the little people, the office worker that tweeted something vaguely "problematic" 10 years ago or the small-time standup comedian desperately trying to get on the circuit. In other words, people whose livelihoods depend on them bending the knee and backing down. But they bit off a tiny bit more than they could chew with Rowling. Going after someone's livelihood doesn't really work when they have more money than they could ever spend in 8 lifetimes and are 100% committed to their cause. I mean, it must be frustrating for them lol- they burn her books, she laughs about the royalties. They try to boycott a game based on her books, she shows them the 1 billion she already has in the bank and then the game does well anyway. They try to make her views illegal in Scotland where she lives, she makes a mockery of the whole thing by scaring off prosecutors due to being backed by the best legal team money can buy, and even offers to pay for the defence of anyone else affected by the law... it's like going up against a video game boss that is literally unbeatable😂 If they weren't such vile little hypocrites, you could almost feel sorry for them, they tried SO hard... On a related note, that's when I hate it when people like Jimmy Carr or Quentin Tarantino say things like "cancel culture isn't a big deal, just ignore it and say what you like anyway". Like yeah, it's obviously not a big deal for someone like you, short of some horrific MeToo scandal emerging about you you're essentially uncancellable. It's quite a bit different for everyone else who doesn't hold influential positions in the media or own millions of pounds...

It was a stealth attack, initially preying on people's "kindness". Only more recently have they become so bold as to portay their hatred, vile aggression and overt misogyny so openly.

I absolutely adore this woman. Since standing up for women and against the tyranny of the extreme left she has proven herself every bit as principled as I expected the writer of Harry Potter to be. Anyone who actually understands the underlying themes of those books should be in no way surprised she has taken the stance she has. I'm so proud of her, the work she has done and the influence she has had on the world. She is muh Queen 👑 💜🙌

When my children were born, the doctor proudly proclaimed "boy" or "girl" according to their inmate, biological gender. I guess this is no longer the case. Does the doctor ask the parent which gender they preferred to be declared? 🤦

The problem is that the "activists" deliberately conflate sex and gender, or use one instead of the other depending on where they want to steer an argument. I never address anyone based on their gender, only on their sex. If they don't like it ... that's their problem, not mine.

I hear you, Rowling denied well documented NS crimes than minced words instead of accepting responsibility and acknowledging the blind bigotry that got her there.

All the names they call Rowling just makes me think they are the sort of people you wouldn’t want to keep in your friend circle, bring to weddings, hang outs. I bet they evolve into bridezillas, karens and so forth. Keep a close watch on them folks. Especially if you find that they are connected to any individual or organization that’s pushing children to transition, often without parental consent etc.

Many post their stories experiences in life which again proves the trust level we have with one another. Heck. Many of my native friends have a term for bitchy and rude white women. Karens. Anyone can be a Karen. Upgrade your reading comprehension before you start assuming things of me. I got many great friends now as I go for quality over quantity and I’m autistic/with ADHD. @@stephenmarshall8367I’m not sure if that’s fair. Do I think he’s the best actor - no. But he wasn’t really chosen for his superior acting talent, it’s more that he embodied Harry’s look and overall haunted quality that Chris Columbus felt worked well on screen. I think he definitely improved a lot in the later films and has continued to improve after. I just don’t think he was ever a naturally talented actor so he’s had to work harder. Rupert grint was probably the one I felt was the best natural actor but obviously hasn’t got the same passion for it as Daniel.

Rowling has only gone up in my estimation since the attacks on her started. Her detractors, on the other hand, deserve nothing but contempt.
