Stephen A Smith is a TV personality character. Don't mistake that for him being knowledgeable. Lakers are 3rd in 3P% the past 25 games. The reason the Lakers can beat the OKC is because OKC is undersized. So him choosing OKC has nothing to do with the Lakers shotmaking ability... it's him not understanding that AD>Holmgren, no one can stop LeBron, Reaves+D'Lo are probably just as good as Shae+Giddey. The difference is Chet becomes pretty useless against the Lakers because AD has the length, size, and athleticism to bully Chet.

Don't disrespect biggie. LeBron shouldn't even be in the conversation. That storyline was created by the media. His 4-6 record means he lost in the finals to his PEERS more than he beat them. So we're just gonna skip over whether he's the greatest of his era, and he just skipped past 2-9? He's top 10 for sure, but the way he won (played with more than double the HOFers than MJ or Kobe) put him outside the top 5. Longevity is not greatness. One can probably do more simple math problems then Einstein if they keep going. But what Einstein does, the other person can't no matter what. It's about peak. Not just lesser excellence for longer.

Old teams like Jazz would barely made the playoff in this era let's be real. It's obvious mj played in weaker era and didnt even sniff thefinals before superteams of the 80s collapsed. lbj played against superteams in finals like san antonio x2 and gsw x4. tell me great teams that mj faced in finals. That's why debate is relevant because this is obviously better era, more talented. In 90s every player that averaged 20ppg was an all star and most of the players had horrible percentages. today players who are scoring 26ppg are not safe. Different era, mj was lucky no teams was nowhere near dream team bulls let's be real. There were no competition. Untalented teams like Knicks were the thing. That team in this era would not make the play-in tournament. It's not bashing on mj, it's bashing on washed expanded era of basketball. Even Rodman talked about the washed 90s.

There's not a single player on OKC that can stop Lebron/AD. A series with some experienced vets vs a team that has never played a playoff game in their life. How is this even a question? The weakest you'll ever see the Lakers is in the regular season. When Lebron/AD turn on playoff mode they are a different team.

The lakers is not afraid of teams that plays fast and drives to the basket a lot. They have great help defense, rim protection, and decent rebounding. Shai literally struggles to find an open mid range against the lakers because he got doubled off every pick and roll. That's why the Lakers is so afraid of the Nuggets. You trap someone, that means somebody else will be open, and Jokic will find that open man. If you don't trap, Jokic or murray will eat you alive one on one. Against teams like OKC, their ball just doesn't find the open man fast enough, and the ball handler even struggle to get rid off the ball, that's when Lakers defense is greatly successful.

As good as OKC has been this season, I swear the Lakers are praying to high heavens that they would land 7th seed and face this OKC team in the playoffs. That young OKC team would just be like Memphis last year: a fodder to a more veteran and experienced team in the playoffs. However, the bigger problem for the Lakers is if they can even land in the 8th seed. If they did that, then they'd have another problem facing the Nuggets in the first round. 8-0 baby! 😂😂

1:05 - this is such a solid point. Every time there's a big moment where as a team you come through for LeBron or the bigger picture, they don't show up and fail. Imagine playoffs, Game 6s or 7s, must win games, games against the Nuggets, etc? They don't show up as they should. Obviously only time will tell if AD will finally not be horse feces in the playoffs, same with Rui, Reaves and DLo. Will they be good or will they be bad and will Anthony Cupcake Davis finally have two good back to back games in the playoffs or not?
