As a Steph fan, i think its the right gameplan. Keep the other guys ice cold, and out of the offense. If Steph puts up 45 for the next three games you MAY lose the series. If Klay and Pool put up 30 you WILL lose the series. Make Steph work on defense, and hope that he doesn't have the legs to carry them three more games. Grind him down. It's the right play. But for it to work Boston has to play better offense, and cannot turn the ball over. This is going to be a great week of basketball!!

I agree. Even as much I want the warriors to win Steph has come up short even if its a game or two in the past finals that is why KD was so important. When Steph was missing shots you had a guaranteed bucket on your team to fall back on. In the 2016 finals he had one game where he only scored 11 points. I don't think its going to work because Steph is so much better than he was in 2016. He doesn't live and die by the 3 anymore.

Idk whether enough ppl realize this or not,, but Warriors approach all this time was always to mainly limit 'the others' productions while not giving too much attentions to the opponents stars. They could careless about Lebron's averaging 40+ or Jokic or Doncic averaging 30+, long as the others don't heat up, they know they get the best chance to win those games. It's basically the same with what Celtics are doing rn. It's not the craziest approach when you consider that this season Steph's been on a shooting slump generally this season. Besides, if you're playing the percentage, it's still better to give space for a 40 some percent shooter from 3, rather than letting a team dominates your paint with their layups penetrations that's almost always resulted 90% of the time with points. Be it a 2 or easy kickout where Klay/Potter/Poole/Wiggins of the world gets open somewhere to hit those 3s. Boston *wisely* chose this defensive approach to increase their chance of winning this finals. Their priority is not like Steph haters who gets mad that his stats could look this great. Totally different priorities from 2 different parties. Lol

Man please don't preach too much on a Monday. Games 1 & 3 the game was in Steph's hands in the 4th and he didn't ball out (combined 6 pts those two games). Game 4 it was 95-94 and Steph took over (10 pts in the 4th). This is Boston's strategy. Motion offense wants to share the ball Boston is stopping it but in return Steph has burned them 2x. Betting on their base defense, their DPOY and analytics. But that may not matter with Steph. He's an anomaly.

Boston's game plan to stop his teammates and let Steph cook started to crack in the fourth quarter. They started sending two guys at him and unlike the two games that Boston won where they blitzed Curry it didn't work this time because him and his teammates have adjusted to it. They don't appear to be wanting to change that plan so Steph is going to have to continue to play well. All that said I think his teammates are about to go off tonight after that last performance he just gave them all the inspiration they need. They have to work on focusing the spot up screens from curry and poole but Wiggins, Looney Tunes, Klay and Otto will all have EASY chances to step up, with Dray and GP2 facilitating and otto helping with keeping screens functional. Also if looney and GP2 play good defense inside the arc we win in 6

He only needs to have 2 more games like that. You’re forgetting about the inspiration and internal fortitude of an all time great. If he knows all he has to do to Win his 4th ring is sustain this level of play for 2 more games the greats can zero in a focus for 2 games. His will to win is enough to do this over and over for a series. Phoenix didn’t think Gianis could keep it up either and they let him play 1 on 1 against single coverage all series and he beat them. Curry is happy to play pick and roll against drop coverage and shoot 25 times a game. It’s a losing strategy for Boston they must trap and hope for the best

They have found a way to slow him down consistent doubles, traps and hedges but the problem is that unlocks Draymond and his teammates. Boston is electing to let Steph cook and limit his teammates. It's the first time a defense has decided to do this in the finals. Every other defense has always doubled, trapped and hedged him throughout. Boston's been waiting until the fourth to do that when his teammates are out of rhythm and Steph's gassed. It's worked twice and it's failed twice.

When you give Mr. Curry an inch, he'll take a yard! BOS can't give him space, room to shoot otherwise he'll make them pay. Also, he tends to thrive off strong screens set which leaves him open to receive the ball and make shots. Boston needs to make it harder on him to play his way.

I don't think people paid attention to what Ime said. It doesn't matter what kind of game Steph has, they are scoring the "same" amount of points. Look at the totals through 4 games. 108, 107, 100, 107. Celtics had 120 and 116 in their wins, and 88, 97, in their losses. So he feels the defense has done its job and it's the offense that's letting them down. I don't agree that points alone are a good measure since pace and the way the game is called differs from game to game. Yet, you have to admit, in Bos' losses it seemed like their offense was the culprit.

Curry might not get 43 again but he will continue to be great and if you are gambling on him to choke i think that might cost you. He is showing up every single game and I believe he is here to play and play great. You have to force the others to HOOP. Steph is showing that he can do it . The Dubs co stars are stepping up in the rebound department and they are hitting the late game shots. Gotta get that ball out of stephs hands….he is too efficient and too effective.
