Roy Haynes... amazing then.... still amazing today....
I love how the audience couldn't stop applauding at Haynes' solo!
Roy Haynes in 1966, ahead of his time. Roy Haynes, 2017. Still alive, kicking and making music!
wow what a proud moment to be from Boston where Roy Haynes is from. I was lucky to have him respond to a post I put up in 1966 when my dad took me to Hynes Auditorium to see him play with B B King. Buddy Rich and Errol Garner were the other acts and It was the Boston Globe Jazz Festival. It changed my life. He PLAYED with Bird, Trane. And he still plays great in his 80s. Best of Boston Forever Sir. Thanks.
That is QUINTESSENTIAL Roy Haynes!
Never heard a drum solo lke this before, it is creatively daring and mesmerizing
This is from the amazing album "Bob Brookmeyer and Friends", featuring Getz and Burton. Don't miss!

Great stuff, so inspiring!
Roys time, melodic phrasing, dynamics and stick control remind me of Joe Morellos absolute mastery of the instrument. Absolutley amazing to watch.
wowowowowowowo
This sounds like some kind of sitcom soundtrack :D
Incredible... and he played with BB king? Roy is king!
What was Stan on?

+Jackson Burris It's the KZread image stabilisation function, which the uploader should have unchecked when they uploaded the vid. It's really designed for smart phone videos and does weird stuff like this otherwise.
