As a brazilian american myself and friends with a ton of brazilians I can say the reason he gets hate from a lot of people is because he seems to not have any respect for the community in general. He's always talking sh** and started claming to be the best ever himself when he wasnt quite there yet. That rubs people the wrong way. Brazilian or not. From the brazilians perspective he sounds like a very arrogant douche dismissing the martial arts with all its traditions. He's a phenomenal grappler, the best in NOGI bjj right now, and I hope he becomes very successful in the UFC. Brazilians love BJ Penn for a reason, the guy was a beast on the mat, first american to become a champion, but still always respected everybody. Rafael Lovato Jr is another great example. People in Brazil like him too. This whole rhetoric is just a way for to motivate himself to be the best. Hated white guy vs brazilians. He chose to be the villain. Oss

Gordon saying that he is the best isn't arrogant. It's like saying that A comes 1st in the alphabet. It is just a fact. I have seen several interviews of him and he is a humble person. Notice how he gives respect for the skills of others when asked. Arrogant people don't do that. I have no respect for those with negative comments here. What have they done in life? Oh ya, they are youtube critics that no one knows about. 😂
