Bobby went to my high school in pasadena california..john muir high. He was two years ahead of me...I remember an elderly lady on the bus sitting next to me as i was reading my latest issue of downbeat magazine and she said is that bobby!..i used to hear him playing all the time, we were neighbors and i would hear him in the summertime when all the windows were open. I Really miss his soul and could always hear the relaxed warm sound of los angeles in the sixties in his playing. R.I.P. Bobby...We miss you.

Bobby is gone now. Another warm light out. The room of my world keeps getting a little dimmer with the passing of these titans who were once providing us substance for the soul.

Leave it to Bobby Hutcherson to breathe new life into this old standard. I once saw him in Philadelphia, along the river. A tugboat blasted its horn, interfering with the music. But Bobby played that note again, then over and over again, in time to the beat. Then he exclaimed something like "That's a Bad Note"! What a fantastic musician he was!

Outstanding rendition of Waller's classic! The Vibes work wonderfully with this piece as Bobby expands it and reinterprets it..

---Jitterbug Waltz is actually a souped-up Fats Waller piano composition, dating back to 1942, believe it or not...

I cannot understand what you mean. They cut badly? My English is a little scholastic. But about my feelings they were tired and that's all fantastic anyway
