I really LOVE how Jane and Lisbon's relationship unfolds throughout the series. It is clear from the beginning that he is subconciously attracted to her. Here is one carefree, eccentric genius who can drive anyone up the wall that somehow always behaves like a naughty school boy trying to get the attention of his crush in her presence. Jane's child-like nature is even more obvious when she's around: stealing and eating her lunch; giving her an origami just to make her smile; complimenting her at unexpected moments; teasing her just to check her reactions. And Lisbon also subconciously reciprocates by being extra patient, accepting and forgiving for all his trickeries. The energy between them is just super cute. I am SO glad that they are not written to give out hot-and-heavy, I-wanna-strip-you sexual vibe but warm, playful and genuine friendship that develops into love. They are the characters that don't need to say " I love you" out loud very often ( and when they do, it is really meaningful) or show too explicit intimacy after confessing their feelings for each other but fans can ALWAYS notice that slow burn of love and devotion. Such characters, such charms, and such perfect performances. Jane and Lisbon will always be one legendary TV couple I eternally ship ❤

Good analysis, I too miss the show but there have been many shows that have kept my craving at bay, you'll have to look and wait a lot but it is worth the effort.

@@dorthvoder9375 there are but none have grappled us like they have. On other shows the characters pine over each other, tell their friends how they like the guy/girl which lets u know how they feel. With Jane & Lisbon, both of them were so private we only had to rely on their facial expressions, their behavior around each other for 6 long years to figure out, whether it was really gonna end on a platonic note or further into a romance. Not to mention, the ever-looming question of whether Jane will get to exact his revenge and end up in jail or get killed in the process, a real possibility according to creators. So yeah, the thrill hasn't been compared even after 7 years.

It's a great show. Sadly only second after Castle for me tho. But Jane is best detective in crime TV for me. But ryan and espocito from Castle are best side detectives for me and me having a childhood crush on the actor of castles daughter doesn't help aswell.

Wow there are moments here when the very air around Lisbon and Jane is so thick with their mutual attraction and admiration it's palpable 👍👍👍

I’ve always loved how understated and natural Jane and Lisbon’s relationship was. You catch their compatibility, their attraction to one another, in the subtle details. It’s nuanced and dynamic-they’re completely comfortable around each other yet also energized; they’re playful, bantering like it’s second nature, yet they can also be serious and intense when the occasion calls for it, and there’s familiarity that can only be borne of trust between them. Such a delicate balance, they strike. I love it so much!

At 2:42, when Jane says "I want you to scream" Robin is holding her laughter soo hard, you even hear how she is holding it back.

Jane & Lisbon were irresistibly drawn to each other like magnets from day one and that pull kept getting stronger and stronger. They were devoted to each other without even knowing that they were, he would do anything for her and she would willingly risk everything for him. Their story was absolutely beautiful and a joy to watch.

They are the cutest non-couple/couple ever!!!

She is an angry little princess ❤️

Also. I love how this fandom has come alive lately. This show deserves a lively fandom!

This show deserves a movie, with a script like 15 years later, with jane and lisbon's kids... yes, plural! In my mind I like to imagine they had twins... a couple, with a girl just like her fisically and the boy just like him, but with temperaments on the other way around... she would be all about brains and the boy all about muscles. Or at least an special episode, right? I mean, come on!!!

The biggest moment to me is when she bring socks to Jane. I love how their relationship development in the show.

" You keep a hammer in your desk!? " one of my fav Jane-isms.

I love how Jane does something absurd, and then tells to Theresa that it is a normal thing to do 😂😂😂.

Shows nowadays are 2 seasons long in which love and other things happen quickly ... This show stretched for 7 seasons and every episode had at least a 2 second teaser about these two ... They slowly built the relationship which is why it's so awesome. People could relate to them in some way!

She really does look great in the hat..😂

I think the moment that clearly defined their compatibility is when things start going sideways and she looks at him with the knowledge something is afoot. Like he got snagged for murder, and the first thing she can think of seeing him out of jail is that he's running a con.

A lisbon x jane content in 2022? This is such a treat, this show was magnificent. Esp in the final season with their wedding 🥲

the real "friends to lovers"

Lisbon’s thing is obviously guys who casually wear the hell out of three-piece suits. Jane was already too close with jumping to clothes with his turtleneck guess. She had to get out of there.

It's actually meant as a hint towards her thing with Walter Mashburn which makes it even more funny. He always suspected that something happened between them, you can see how he tried to get a look inside Mashburn's bedroom at the end of the episode and how protective Mashburn's reaction was.

I haven't even completed season 1 yet, but I so hooked and soo rooting for them..even though I know they are gonna end up together..the anticipation of seeing it happen is ✨...The fact that there is some kind of spark between them, is visible from literally episode 1.. And I just find Patrick Jane's gaze sooo powerful...like everytime he looks at lisbon, you can feel soo much..its like his eyes say a lot..and in reciprocation, Lisbon too has a beautiful smile, which usually crosses her when they are together..Ik there is a lot to watch yet ..but I am really so excited for them. His expressions and confidence is just mind blowing! ❤

And it ends with them being an actual married couple.

Not all romances are big, over the top gestures that require a choir backing you up. It's the little things, small gestures of teasing, compliments and smiling that express more love than words can ever convey. True romance is being in each other's company and making adventures out of the mundane things of life

Ah, the nostalgia hit me after watching this great video! The Mentalist was, and is, one of the greatest, most brilliant detective/crime/cop shows ever in the history of TV! Jane&Lisbon is one of the best partnerships ever created on TV! And Patrick Jane is one of the greatest fictional detectives ever created, right next to Sherlock Holmes - that's how brilliant he is, and that's how great Simon Baker was, playing him! I started to watch it when it first aired all those years ago by pure chance, and I was gone - it sucked me in - after the first minutes of the pilot episode! I'll admit: one thing that was disappointing for me tho, was the conclusion to the Red John mystery. In my opinion, the guy they chose for Red John had the least charisma and smartness about him, and I understood Bruno Heller's explanations for it all, however, he still botched it because the way they wrote Red John for six seasons was completely opposite to the person he ended up being. From the pilot episode, Red John was presented as this mystical, brilliant, terrifying mastermind, exactly like Moriarty is in Sherlock Holmes, so the revelation that he had the whole corrupt system and cop structure behind him and that he was just this simple, random guy we already met at the start of the series, was really lame and didn't fit with the entire story. But I was able to get over it all because I love The Mentalist too much to be angry at the creator and the story too long, and it was still an amazing story! 😃

I'm glad that the two of them got married in the end.

They were absolutely adorable together!! Loved this show!!

I thought they worked so much more as a non-couple than as an actual couple. I loved wondering if they were ever gonna get together way more than getting the answer to that question. it's not as bad as some of the forced couples in friends, but their chemistry was cuter before. I liked the tension more than the release.

Agreed. That's always an issue when creating a "will they, won't they" couple. It was the same with Jim and Pam in the office. They had amazing chemistry during the their "will they, won't they" period, but as soon as they got together, they stopped being the focus of the show because the writers realized that they didn't have much to show about them anymore. When they created conflict for the couple it was always felt forced and unwarranted. Same with Lisbon and Jane. I'm glad they ended up together, but they had much better chemistry and banter before.

@@thomasmalet2142 I like to see it this way. Since we know the significance of Jane's past, he himself admitted in his confession to Lisbon the reason why he used to behave the way he did. We also see Jane still dealing with his past demons in s7 because it was his first real relationship with someone after his wife. I know people wanted something else but I actually like the route they took with them. You can compare the previous Jane Lisbon with the s7 JaneLisbon, and you'd find more honesty and less boundaries between them. Whatever that kept them at arm's length of each other, they worked on that in s7. I wouldn't trade that for anything.

yes! the buildup was the best, but i think it’s because they never had a steamy scene like rigsby did, so to me, nothing changed except for the what if- which is not as satisfying without a clear transition on screen. the last episode was too rushed for me, i didn’t even know they slept together by their screen relationship until they announce it lol

She does look great in that hat. She is a beautiful lady, beautiful eyes. And unlike most women, shes cute too, most of us lose that look when we get married or have kids. She still has it. I do wish they would bring the show back!

I just have to say this...Simon Baker...OMG...one sexy man!!! And yes...I also love the relationship between Jane and Lisbon. I'm re-watching the series right now precisely because of sexy Simon Baker but also to see this wonderful relationship.

I love this. This show needs a reboot with a twist. He's physic now from years of training his mind and now sees that Lisbon and his child are in danger (gets a warning from his previous family) but can't tell from who. Works with FBI to find out. I'd watch that.
