Maybe I'm just cynical but if they've truly never heard the song or the band before, they would have no idea what Tatiana is about to do. I think most of these new reaction channels are just people jumping in on the trend and feigning ignorance.

Tatiana has an amazing talent and she has worked hard to develop it into a world class talent. The rest of the band (Roman - guitars, Eugene - Bass, Vlad - Drums) has amazing talent and backs her well, making a great and appealing overall sound. Jinjer does however, thrive in live performances, so I would suggest listening to their song Perennial live at Whacken 2019 and see them on stage. All of them are Ukranian and fled the Donbass region for Kiev in 2014 when Russia first attacked and took control of the region for access to the Crimean peninsula. They are resilient people and have focused solely on their music through the hard times they were forced to endure. 🤘

Palladin Odessa I like you. You understand Jinjer and their story. I think they are awesome ambassadors of Ukraine, they demonstrate the amazing resilience and strength the world has seen this last year+ (well really since 2014, but Zelensky brought something out of the closet shall we say). The story of Jinjer is a little bit the story of Ukraine in microcosm. Jinjer will not quit! They are a juggernaut, especially when you see them live with your own eyes and ears. They’re so good they could even make a Russian have empathy for Ukraine! You can’t help but fall in love with them.

Reactions to Pisces are a whole genre unto themselves. I frequently think while watching a Pisces reaction that they should do a metal cover of Oops I Did It Again, but growling the chorus. Because when someone loses their mind reacting to Pisces oops Tati did it again. :p I'm sure you'll get a few dozen requests for Perennial live at Wacken - it's the perfect follow up. Pisces is an older song the redid in this live session to showcase Vlad on drums, as he had joined not long before this. But ,it went viral because of Tati's vocals. Tati's astrological sign is Pisces, the symbol of which is 2 fish swimming in opposite directions. Any of the songs others have suggested would be great to do next for them. Perennial live at Wacken 2019 is the usual next step. Homback is about the fighting in their homeland in 2014.

The duality of the two vocal styles definitely fit with the song’s title. No matter how many times I listen to it, I will NEVER not get emotional when it comes to the belt near the end. -This was the song that got me interested in them. However, I became a fan because of the official live of “Bad Water.” I listened to a number of other songs but couldn’t get into them. After “Bad Water”, I got who they are. Then, everything connected and I was hooked.

A great reaction, Ray. You started out with a great artist and band, with Jinjer, who are, Tatiana, Roman, Eugene and Vlad, I saw some else gave you a full breakdown of them so I won't repeat it all. I hope that you do more Jinjer reactions, here are my recommendations: 'Perennial' live in Wacken open air festival 2019, 'Teacher Teacher' the official music video, 'Judgement (and Punishment)' Tatiana's one-take vocal version, 'Vortex' the official music video, 'On The Top' and 'Pit of Consciousness' both live in Kiev, 'Call Me Symbol' official music video, and for a couple of older tracks with their old drummer before Vlad joined them, 'I Speak Astronomy' the official music video, and 'Sit Stay Roll Over' the official music video.

When the harsh vocals is something 'new' to our ears, something we don't seem to "get" that: 1- anyone can do it with the right techniques 2- it's not a studio effect. Try reacting to Jinjer - Perennial (Live), where there's zero editing or overlaying.

Great reaction! I'm glad you kinda stopped yourself before calling it "screamo", which is a word hardly anyone within the metal community uses (I think). Jinjer mostly plays progressive metal these days, though some their older songs were more fitting into the metalcore subcategory. If you're looking for a word for the harsh vocals, this kind of singing is called growling. Most people will probably recommend Perennial as a second Jinjer song which is what a lot of reactors do, but since you didn't seem fazed by the heavy parts, I'll suggest "Who Is Gonna Be the One" (live). Or if you want to do something unique, I'd recommend "When Two Empires Collide", an older song that hardly anyone has ever reacted to as far as I can see (I love this live version in particular: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fYlqj5t7gZXdiKQ.html).

Yes! I am not familiar with the genre so I was going to say something but then was like...hmm I am uneducated in this, so what I'm about to say is probably wrong! I did reach out to a friend who is much more familiar with the genre and he gave me a good timeline and pointers on all the subgenres. And I will have to check those ones out you suggested, thank you!

@@rayactions Screamo is just Emo with growls, lol. It's a specific sub-genre. "Growls/Growling" is the more universal term for using that level of distortion.

When I saw this song for the first time I fell imediately in love with this band. For me personally this song is about the misunderstood nature of fishes (Pisces literallly means fishes). Some of them are the bringers of life, while other run for their death. It's harsh, but sometimes You gotta run for food that might become your undoing. As for the next song by Jinjer I recommend Perrenial Live at Wacken like many other people here. 😉Great reaction! 😃

6:41 The part I love the most about this song is that this is about Tatiana's duality and how Pisces represents it. The chorus says "One being brings life, another runs for death", basically the whole song talks about how fragile she is inside while portraying a hard exterior, also goes into how she feels men take advantage of her in the last verse. So the song being chill atmospheric rock and then going into metal fits it 100%

Hi Rachel! I had to back track to this from your Nightwish reaction. Love this too! Smooth guitars like light shimmering on water and then...... PIRANHA! Pisces - 2 fish, 2 personalities. It fits. I know from experience! You are only the second reactor I know who noticed the earrings! Double points! More points for the "full body" comment too! The song is about how Tatiana, the singer, felt - going from a teacher and single to a popular singing metal babe!
