Saw him many times in the late 70’s and early 80’s when he was with The Nighthawks and I was at Va Tech.

This is beautiful! And the bassist and drummer are tight as a gnat’s ass. I went to college at the university of Maryland in the 1970s and the Nighthawks played there often. I remember a whole set they did with rubber masks on. Jimmy Thackery was Richard Nixon! I was high as a kite and laughed my ass off.

A D.C. Legend and former member of the Nighthawks. Jimmy scorches guitars like nobody's business. Call it vocabulary, call it an arsenal, Jimmy defines what it means to be a Blues/Rock guitarist. One of the best you'll ever see.

My favourite guitar player - dead or alive. And I must have a hundred or more other guitar heroes to suck on. This here Jimmy is the special one.

Love Jimmy Thackery , but his bass player deserves some credit . The guy is great and holds the structure of these great songs together so that Jimmy can do what he does best and that's make his Strat cry with emotion . What an incredible talent . This and "Solid Ice '" are both killer songs. Love it !

The great thing about Jimmy is he’s aware at all times of what, when and where to play at any given time. It’s time for an effect he uses it. It’s time for a hot scale run he uses it time to use the whammy bar he uses it. Never too much too often!

i was alive when Hendrix did the Star Spangled Banner at woodstock, and i remember the fall out , how disrespectful it was, and now its considered an American Classic. funny how time changes everything!

God Bless Jimi Hendrix... He transcended the National Anthem and made it "cool" to people who otherwise wouldn't have thought so. He reached people in ways no-one else could.

The bass player here is Mark Bumgarner. The drummer is Russ Wilson. I have seen these three play several times between Detroit and Florida.
