The Nighthawks At Blue House Live!

THE NIGHTHAWKS
Legends of Blues and Roots Rock
As their 50th anniversary approaches, The Nighthawks step forward with two new members: Dan Hovey on guitar and Paul Pisciotta on bass. Dan delivers strong lead vocals along with his tasty guitar playing, and Paul brings the band’s already famous four-part harmonies to a new level. Drummer Mark Stutso’s singing and songwriting make him an audience favorite. And founder, lead singer and harpmaster Mark Wenner is still at the helm. With some 30 recordings and local and international awards to their credit, The Nighthawks are still churning out new material while drawing on more than four decades’ worth of signature tunes for their legendary live shows.
We ask that anyone who has the means to support these broadcasts consider contributing a cover charge or ticket price - just as you would to see to see these outstanding performers in a club or concert hall. Our suggested amount is $20 per person, but of course, any amount will help - and for those who are able to do more, we welcome that. While these streams can never replace the lost income these performers face, every little bit helps. Contribution options: tinyurl.com/bhldonate

As I started to play harmonica, Mark Wenner and Paul Butterfield were my absolutelly non plus ultra teachers. I played plenty of gigs in the past 32 years and I start to feel the blues at age of 58 like them. God Bless Nighthawks!

The Hawks sounding fantastic, this is a great lineup with some great vocals and the guitar player is excellent. Mark Stutso is one of the best timekeeping drummers with plenty of excellent chops, and hooking up with the bass man and laying down some cool beats! Wenners harp always sends me! "Go Hawks Go"

How the hell does this band not sell out arenas. Put to shame most any band out there.

I saw the Nighthawks in the 80's in a little bar called the Ambler Cabaret in Ambler PA. I have cassette tape of them still. Hard to forget the harmonica playing of Mark Wenner. Fantastic to listen to them again.

DC's Favorite Blues Band four nearly five decades. Four especially talented guys, vocally and instrumentally. Tight as a drum. Especially liked seeing my old bandmate with The Confidentials, Paul Pisciotta. He started on guitar with us before moving to bass, on which he has thrived and entertained us in the DC area for many years. Wish he'd sing Long Tall Texan, like he did with us. Only Lyle Lovett comes close to Paul's rendition. I first saw The Nighthawks in 1977 at The Bayou, when they opened for Robert Gordon, who was our vocalists with The Confidentials. Hope The Nighthawks get to hit the road, soon. Don't miss the opportunity to see them!

Man, I’d love to sit and talk with you,I know I’m 3 years late. But I know the scene you’re talking about. I loved seeing the Nighthawks. I had the opportunity to meet those guys in 84. It was at WHFS anwhen they moved to Annapolis. I heard they were there and my friend was a DJ there. It was right after the interview, I brought an album for them to sign, they gave me some swag, great people. And Robert Gordon was great. At some point he worked with Danny Gatton, rip, to a fellow Marylander.

I saw these guys in Chapel Hill NC around 1979. They still rock the house. If you can get to their shows, I recommend it. You will dance your butt off.

Been a big fan since the 80s (came onboard about the same time Jimmy Thackery left, who remains my favourite guitar player) and I got ALL their stuff.
