I’m 11 and doing this, currently crying over the beginning guitar solo. Thinking about Mcr, idk if you’ll know them. But Jimmy Eat World inspired them. They broke up in 2013, I was only 6 and I didn’t know about them. I just love that band so much. As long as This wonderful band. I lost my Son at the age of 23 in Oct. Of 2014 his daughter was born about 3 weeks after we put her Dad my Son to rest I am overwhelmed with emotions whenever I hear this song but I will still listen to it because for some strange reason it is comforting to me .I miss & I love U Son Gone but Never Forgotten R.I.P. Found this song when I was 16. Loved it then, and loved it still when I listened to it first thing in the morning after turning 23. Now finally, after turning 24 just twenty one minutes ago, it was also the last one I listened to close the year off again. To me, this song is not merely about love, but about the whole world that's out there. Time passes. Years go by. But we are lucky to be here now; to experience life as we live and grow older. This time is ours, these are our years, and no one will ever take that away from us again. I am there too, I discovered it near the age of 24. Now, it has been a day since I turned 24 and I am thinking, I have changed so much since the age of 22 or 23... Now I have hope, I can change, I can stay who I am, I hope for all the right things and I hope everyone hopes for them as well.

I heard this song first in 2005. at a very difficult moment in my life where I was first feeling the symptoms of depression. I never wanted to listen to this song because it reminded me of that time. Now after more than 15 years I've listened to it again. This song is amazing.

I had this album on repeat for fourteen hours riding in my dad's truck when I was a teenager on the way to NJ. What a ride... Love this album.

This song gets me everytime. Being in love with someone who is with someone else is the worst feeling in the world. 😔

For me is a song about a love story that never happenned. I was in love with someone out of my reach, telling him how I feel was scary but it was also one of the best things that I've ever done. He turned me down because, turned out, he is with someone else. I was hurt and very happy at the same time - my dream had finally come true, he knew how I felt, and I just couldn't stop smiling like an idiot. The same day I found this song and realised how perfectly it described my state at the moment. I'm glad he is happy, even if not with me - I'm sure there is plenty of other fish in the sea :)

OMG! The exact same thing happened to me! I understand completely that feeling. Years passed by and this song makes me feel exactly how I felt in the past. It is very nostalgic and makes me think of my impossible love. I will always love him ❤. He will live in my heart forever.

Used to listen to this all the time as a teenager. Such an amazing song, one of their best in my opinion.

This video is a godsend! I play it whenever my 6 month old daughter gets really fussy and it calms her right down, sometimes even puts her into a deep sleep!

This song brings back old memories. I'm 22 turning 23 next summer.

As a teen I used to think this was a really depressing song but now going on 25 I realize now that it is more of a hopeful song than anything and a wake up call. I've been dealing majorly with ppd since my first child was born and with a second one on the way I've been even more burdened with issues but listening to this is like a reminder that nothing like that has to be forever unless you allow it to. "You'll sit alone forever if you wait for the right time, what are you hoping for?" And "I won't always love what I'll never have, I won't always live in my regrets." Stands the most out to me right now when listening to it and while I know personally I have a long road ahead it gives me hope that I will make it to the end regardless

I want this played at my funeral. 23 was a major turning point in my life. Not exactly for the better. The start of what ended up being a failed marriage where our daughter and I were just abandoned, amongst other things. It’s a very well written and orchestrated song. And I’m certain it’s touched many people over the years. It’s almost too relatable. Lol.

i dropped out after 2 years college and at new one, i havent graduate for 6 years. Even if i graduate, maybe it will be hard to find a job because of my age. now i'm 28 and feels left behind because all my bestfriends already have steady job at big city, some of them have married. i dont have passion or a dream, i dont know what i want to be, i don't know what to do with my life, i can't talk to my family or my friends because i don't know what to say to them or will it help at all. I miss my mom when i lonely. I only have little memory of her when i was 4 years old. whenever before sleep when i wonder why i am a big failure i always wonder if my life would be different if my mom still alive. i dont always feels sad, but when it suddenly hit me, it hit really hard

Dude, I dropped out of college and only got my first decent job at 28. I'm now 36 and earning more than most of my friends with college degrees. Find something that you love and work hard at it, you need ambition, not just an education.

Back then this song was always on the top of my playlist in my old mp3 player. Simply because the songs were ordered alphabetically. No wonder the songs still has a strong impression on me.

Such a great solo

I'm 36, and I first heard this song when I was 22 about a few months before my 23rd birthday. I was in a relationship and it wasn't good. She was great, I was the jerk. I cheated on her, I also didn't treat her like she deserved to be treated. I had a big drug problem, as well as selling drugs. I said a lot of terrible things to her during our relationship and met her years later. I learned the words I said, changed her entire world. I also learned I was a terrible person that year and I decided to end the relationship. I never gave her a real good reason, but deep down, it was because I knew she deserved so much better. Someone who was not me. I didn't even like myself. Fuck, I barely knew the concept of self love at 23. I'm now 36 and listen to this song, always. This song is retrospective for me. I remember 23 very, very vividly. I am not the kid, I once was. I've gone through so much change, that she would be proud of who I became. At 36, im finally ready to give her what she deserves. She now has 2 kids with a husband. But, just goes to show, sometimes loving someone...Is also letting them go. While I have become a man that I am proud of, I still regret and hurt from the way I treated her. She knew everything about me, and never judged me once. She just wanted my unconditional love. I was an asshole then. But, I know how to treat a woman now. Though, I am single now, I dumped myself into my work now. Ohhh and BTW, I had an on and off problems for the following years, up until a couple years ago. Where my last relationship ended in 2018 after 5 years. I wasn't as bad as I was with Krystene, but I spiraled out of control. However, I grew up finally. I now am in school, finishing up my career, I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I live a mellow life. I'm happy and I am proud of me. But, Truth be told, I only become the man she deserved a little over a year ago. So, sometimes love is about letting go, never forget that. Sometimes the people we cross are only meant to be in our lives for a short period of time. But that period is enough to trigger a series of events that will be the catalyst for your entire future. It's up to you how it ends.

It hurts to hurt someone you love so much because you weren't capable to receive and give back that love to them because your lack of love for yourself blocked you. I'm in the same situation. My boyfriend was like your girlfriend, so good and patient with me, and I think that triggered something in me that made me feel not worthy of that kind of love. I have so many regrets but it really has been a catalyst for me to look inside and do the work that I put off for so long. For that, I'm so grateful. I just want another chance....
