Jimmy Cliff became my spirit animal around 2018. Ain’t looked back. First 24 years of life I never knew reggae (old real reggae). Soon as I heard it, it changed my life and became the soundtrack to life. I have nobody close to me that loves it or knows of it like I do. I’m kind of salty about that, but after the discontent, I’m glad that I have it. It’s as if reggae is looking after me and has become my closest companion through good and bad, and something I will maybe end up going to the grave never having anyone close to share it with and talk of it. But Jimmy Cliff here- he somehow transcends reggae.

Man, that intro. Pure 80s perfection. :)

Vous avez raison. Notre pays avait encore du prestige et la paix regnait partout. Ce musicien etait venu jouer a aussi a Lubumbashi au stade de la Kenia.il etait sans concurrent et tres admire au Zaire.

Most people dont know the title an they are probably still searching for it. Like me, just found it today after a 4 yr search. Didnt even know it was Jimmy who sang this song. Been listening to Reggae night my whole life. So today i came on his channel, saw this song and was like "what this song? Let me listen to it just cos i am bored" Only to my surprise that its the song i have been searching for almost 5 yrs now. 😂😂😂. Stumbled on it just like that. So happy today.

Unicamente un visionario como Jimmy Cliff supo conciliar, unir en una misma canción, dos generos musicales completamente diferentes, el reggae y el pop y al mismo tiempo acomodarse mediante el éxito hot shot, a la realidad social de aquella época en la que le tocó interactuar y accionar.
