What I find d really interesting is how other Christians love condemning Catholics straight to hell while the Catholic Church just teaches what it teaches without being nasty to those who are nasty to it. This is actually what made me begin to think twice about leaving the Church. When someone receives so much hatred from everyone they must be doing sth right.

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that it is necessary for salvation to be subject to the roman pontiff and that there is no salvation outside of the RCC. Anyone who says otherwise was branded a heretic and many were burned at the stake over the centuries for daring to challenge Rome.

@@FreedomsNurse According to Catholic teaching the fullness of the faith is to found in the Catholic Church and those who are saved who don't belong to the Catholic Church are saved by extension. It doesn't mean that all others are necessarily condemned to hell. And that you have to be subject to the roman pontiff to be saved, where do you get that from? Heresy is also no small thing and the Catholic Church never burned anyone at the stake but handed them over to the secular authorities for punishment. And to be fair, Protestants also have a history of doing the same with Catholics.

I feel is important to baptize infants because parents are giving their children the blessings for their journey. They are opening their life to a Christian life and profound way to tell them: Jesus is your protector, His friends are Saints, and His mother loves you and protects us from every thing. Kids are kids but when a parent educates them in a Godly way, kids will feel more attracted to be obedient and learn more about Christ, our Lord. When they do their first communion, they will special to follow a journey in Christ and become like Jesus. Overall, the goal is for families to be like the _ideal_ Godly family.

Cari, The problem with what you said, is, There is no Biblical teaching of infant baptism, You cannot believe Jimmy Akin, as he gives the Catholic answers, and not the Biblical answers. The Biblical way for baptism, is, Believe repent, get born again, Then and then only can one be baptised.Mk 16: 15--16. Acts 2: 38, And how can an infant, Believe, chose to repent and get born again, then chose to be baptised??.Plus, one isn't baptised by pouring water on their head, or sprinkling water on them.Every Greek meaning for baptism, Is by Total Immersion, So you can see that most Catholics aren't baptised.

Dr. Alan Hales eh is okay. Do babies die after baptism? If they do, they shouldn't be baptized. If parents want to baptize them, they may. Godly parents are opt to baptized them. They want to give them a Christian life.

Cari, Please give scriptures for your last statement.[1]Religious churches baptise, [So they think], infants that are dying. I know because I was.[2].Water baptism Doesn't give anyone a Christian life, It's the spiritual rebirth that makes one a Christian.[3]Every Greek meaning for baptism, is by total immersion, Not by pouring or sprinkling water on an infant, So you can see that most Catholics aren't baptised.[4]Christians have meetings that commit their young children to God, They don't baptise infants, because the Bible doesn't teach it.

The bible doesnt support baby baptism- The point of baptism is to '''repent'''' then to '''''follow'''' Jesus, babies and infants can do neither- Jesus got baptised at 30-

Carl: 3, The problems with your theory, are, [1], There is no scriptures that says infants can be baptised, As the Bible teaches one must believe, Repent before they can be baptised.[2]Infant baptism by pouring, sprinkling or dabbing water on an infants head, ISN'T the Biblical way of baptism, Because every Greek meaning for baptism, Is by Total immersion.

Infant baptism is an unauthorized change in God’s pattern for baptism. God tells us whom to baptize. He tells the conditions people must meet in order to be baptized, but babies do not fit. To baptize babies is to act by human authority without divine authority. All things that we do as God’s people must be done by the authority of Christ (Col 3:17). How can we presume to do something in Jesus name and say it is approved by Him when He does NOT command it or say it is pleasing to Him? We cannot!

Infant baptism is almost always done by sprinkling or pouring, not by immersion. The Bible says that baptism is a burial (Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12). A person must go down into the water and come up out of it (Acts 8:38,39; Mark 1:9,10). Bible baptism requires much water (John 3:23). Also, the Greek word for baptism means “to dip, plunge, or immerse.” When baptism is commanded in the Bible by Jesus and His Apostles, they are commanding immersion, because this is what the word means! Infant baptism does not fit God’s pattern on any of these points. The evidence clearly shows that Bible baptism is an immersion, not a sprinkling or pouring.

This is a great explanation but the Bible does confirm that baptism is for children/infants. One of the argument Protestants have about why a child cannot be baptized is because they can't hear the message and "believe." Watch this... Matthew 18.6 But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that BELIEVE in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanging about his neck and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea. Who is a little one? Who is a child? Luke 18. Infants are considered children by Jesus. Also check out Matthew 19:14, Luke 18 15 through 16, Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:39, acts 16 33 and 16.15, Mark 16.16

We do not see one example of babies getting baptized in the New Testament. It is assumed into passages where we are told that whole households were baptized, but there is no evidence in the passages that babies were included. This is only an assertion without any other scriptural evidence.

@@kac0404is there scriptural evidence that that babies SHOULDN’T be baptised?

  • @kac0404

@siothrun72 To be baptized, a person must have awareness of his sins and his need for a Savior, repenting of his actions (Acts 2:36-38; Rom. 3:23; 6:23). He must hear the word of God (Matt. 28:18-20; Rom. 1:16; 10:14-17) and believe its testimony that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (John 20:30-31, Mark 16:16) who died on the cross and was raised from the dead to provide redemption for mankind (John 3:16; Rom. 5:6-10). He must confess this belief publicly (Rom. 10:9, Acts 8:26-40). A baby is incapable of doing these things. A baby taken by his parents to be baptized is not a Christian baby, just a wet baby. An actual baptism has not occurred. Baptizing a baby with the notion of making it a child of God reduces baptism to nothing more than a work. Mere works absent of faith cannot save. Moreover, it is a work performed on an individual by a third party, without his consent, or even his knowledge.

@kac0404 all cherry picked from different scripture but nowhere in scripture does it definitely say and show the exact mode of Baptism for every baptism mentioned in the Bible and to say there is a definitive mode without tradition you are misinterpretatinf scripture to fit your protest and are frankly not being honest because of your pride in thinking you can interpret scripture better than the church.. I can do this too.. Mark 16.16 Jesus says you must believe... Matthew 18.6 literally says that little ones, which are also infants, BELIEVE in Jesus so therefore should be baptized. Don't be a hypocrite if you truly believe in the Word of God
