Anton LaVey on The Joe Pyne Show

"1970: LaVey consents to appear on Joe Pyne's Hot Seat Radio show, during which LaVey is treated to Pyne's unusually caustic tongue. Pyne dies within a few months of having LaVey on his show." ~ The Secret Life Of A Satanist by Blanche Barton; chapter 'Curses & Coincidences'.
And the same went for Lou Gordon the previous year. Justice served, Lex Talionis.
Satanic Statement #5: "Satan represents vengeance, instead of turning the other cheek!" ~ The Satanic Bible.

oliver lee do you have any idea how nerd ass america was back then .. just having him on the show was enough to make people in the south and midwest .. jump out of windows ha ha but really back in the late 69s and 70s it was educational for us young kids to see and hear people with radical ideas . most tv hosts were jerks . johnny carson was as cool as we could get then .

satanist or not, you got to have some level of respect and professionalism for guests on your show. This segment was completely bankrupt of either virtue and the behavior of Pyne was nothing short of embarrassing and disgraceful. Kudos to Mr. Lavey for maintaining his composure in the midst of pompous and childish antics. Although, I wouldn't have thought less of him either had he busted the shit out of his teeth.

Did anyone notice at the end as he shook his hand, he had the fingers in a curse position... On Wikipedia it says about Joe Pyne:: He developed lung cancer and died in Los Angeles on 23 March 1970. Pyne was survived by his wife, son Ed and daughter Cathy. If this video was really made in 1970, then the host died within a few months lol... something tells me LaVey had the last laugh...

Victor Quezada I could be wrong... I just noticed that the "copyright" info at the bottom of the video reads 1965-1970 ..meaning the show ended in 1970 I presume... well, Joe Pyne (22 December 1924 - 23 March 1970) They may have added the dates to the video years later though... so I may have made a mistake. Doesn't mean this footage was shot in 1970.. could have been 1966 as Adam mentioned above.

I am a Christian and I must say that I found the treatment of LaVey on this show by Joe Pyne was both insulting and disrespectful. Mr. Pyne should have asked intelligent and insightful questions that could have shed more light on the outlook and rhetoric of LaVey. The audience had very good questions at least. Mr. Pyne should have been ashamed of himself.

It just infuriates me that some schlock like Pyne would act so shamefully toward a guest on his own show. It was OUTRAGEOUS behavior to purposefully try to humiliate someone in front of thousands of viewers, and it certainly was his downfall that he chose the wrong person to pick on. No one was better equipped to handle bullies better than Dr. LaVey. Pyne got what he deserved, that is for sure. Dr. LaVey handled Pyne’s disgraceful behavior with finesse and humor - a true Master!

Just goes to show you how ignorant and close minded people can be. Anton Lavey understood this, hence why he done the interview and took all the disrespect from Joe Pyne in the first place. Most people don't except and judge harshly for what they do not know or are afraid of knowing. We as the human race are supposed to learn from these past mistakes and tribulations. If there is good, then there is bad. This Mr.Pyne wasn't exactly being kind, respectful and open minded....doesn't that reflect mosts opinions as "bad"? Anton Lavey allowed the interview to continue, turned the other cheek when he was slapped with disrespect by this guy. Doesn't that mean he was acting "good"? To stop learning means to stop growing, to stop growing surely means to die as we will not be able to move forward as a species, so meaning we will seize to exist. I'm sure this is in the bible somewhere, which by the way was written by a man and translated by many. Many may have withheld critical information to benefit their own agenda. Isn't that what conspiracy theorists claim about the NWO plan? Just a thought, as if it really mattered in the first place. People choose to be stupid these days because it's easier than studying for a test.
