I can relate to this. I hadn’t touched a guitar in 10 years and wanted to learn Heart Shaped Box. Now I’m watching all of his Hendrix embellishment videos.
When Marty explains, I simply understand. Such a great teacher.

It's taken me 3 years to get here but I now understand this with clarity....you rock!!!
I first saw Marty many years ago and quickly recognized him as not just a wonderful musician but an EXCELLENT teacher. I'm sure we all have stories about great guitar players who can't teach for shit. Marty is the man! Thanks Marty.
25 years and I have finally learned how to play Hendrix style. Thank you Marty!
You make me understand why Hendrix was in a class by himself. I appreciate the way you get right to the teaching without too much elaboration.
BE A SMARTY, LEARN FROM MARTY!!!!!! As a geezer, I am enjoying using a majority of my time playing and always continuing to learn guitar. I take lessons through a Veterans group. Your name comes up alot, as one of the best teachers if not the best teacher on YT. THANK YOU for helping a bunch of old Veterans. We grew up with a lot of the music you teach. It's a gas learning how to play some of it. Thanks again........ ...L8RG8R....🎸🎶🇺🇲😎
my youtube begginer guitar teacher. 10+ year now and still you rock man. thank you marty❤ from nepal🇳🇵🇳🇵
You have just blown my mind and taught me something I've went a life time without knowing. Looking at them as backwards power chords, or major chord inversions as you referred to them. When you play those little pentatonic hammer on and pull off licks, you always think of power chords. But moving up and down, and still never provokes you to look at them as backward power chords. Giving everyone a new prospective of looking at their playing and lick fills. This is the greatest lesson you ever did Marty. Please, feel free to keep blowing my mind. Doesn't happen often, but when it does. It feels too good. 🤣 🤣 🎸😎
I am pretty much a beginner but you are opening up a lot of doors. Thanks for this great lesson
Marty, sometimes, some of us just don't get it until you relate the name of a concept to a simple fact. Your explanation and demonstration of a chord 'inversion' is spot on! Thank you and keep up the good work!

Wow it’s really been 3 years of me watching Marty music thank you so much for the tutorials, time to finally learn the theory
Everytime I wanted to try something new on guitar here's Marty
There is months worth of gold in this class alone. Thank you so much :)
Marty bro if you ever see this. I love you. Every time I watch a video of yours it's game changing and I level up like 10 times.
I know what I'm working on this weekend. Brett does a Hey Joe, video and this breaks what he was doing down to the fine morels. I love this style of Blues. Can't wait to see more and thank you for it.
Marty Schwartz you are the Jimi Hendrix of guitar teachers I appreciate you and I thank you
Thank you! I noticed that it's also part of the pentatonic scale shape. I can't wait to try this!!

Correct. Anything using notes 1,2,3,5,6 of a scale will fit nicely in pentatonic shapes
The last 2 years of watching KZread this is my go do for Hendrix idea
Ive been watching your videos since i got a hand ne down guitar from my brother when i was 16 about 12 years now, thanks for the hours of free education id like to think im a proficient player now and its moslty been thanks to your free tutorials and theory lessons. Peace and love from the uk
This is my favorite lesson of all your lessons.
I just want to stop playing for a moment and thank you for all your videos which helped me a lot over the years of my playing. I learned a lot from you. You are a Legend! Thank you! 🤘🏻
Well you made that make total sense. Imma wake up the neighbours now with a Wind Cries Mary alarm call. Thx man.
I've learnt a lot of Hendrix material from Marty here, in only five months. I mean, I've been learning.. I got a so very much long way to go. But this Major Chord class of today must be one of his best ever. He taught simple tricks, easy to play, but bring such a Hendrix like sound. Outstanding. Thank you very much, Marty master.
Marty- I think I used to jam with you in Rockville and Bethesda and I just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been to watch your videos! Cheers!
Man I have been hearing something in my head when I have been playing, and rewatching this helped me figure it out. Thx Marty.
Hey Marty could you do a follow up lesson on how to construct a solo like Hendrix? There seems to be a huge shortage of those videos on KZread in general.

Hey bud good question - think this lesson actually answers it though. Hendrix solos using this very concept in Little Wing (with the exception of one minor pentatonic riff to add a little tension)

Hi Marty, this is another great, helpful and simple lesson for me. I am 65 now and learned guitar just by listening music. I wish I had a teacher like you in my youth. Really love your Videos. Thank you very much 👍👍👍
Thank you for going out of your way to not be confusing. Your instruction methods make this much easier than others
Fantastic lesson. So much information packed into this video.

Marty your hands are like magic. When I try it’s like a traffic jam.
Really really love this lesson. So much info with perfect delivery
Thanks Marty. A whole new level of respect for Mr.Hendrix. So much Jazz style influence here.
This was mesmerizing to watch! Great way to explain one of the quintessential Jimi techniques!
I Think This Is The Lesson Ive Been Lookin For!
Thanks for this lesson. Great stuff to work on and apply right away.
first watched this a few months back learning Jimi techniques & now I’m back trying to master those Stax r&b rhythm concepts.. thanks for this vid!!
Marty thank you man from the bottom of an old totally blind musicians heart. I have always wanted to learn the circle of fifths I knew there was an easy way but I just never could figure it out. At the age of 33 I decided I would become a Guitar Player so I could accompany myself I was a singer and drummer. Well the age of 57 I was in a enjoyable rabbit hole on KZread and you said something that took me to this video and within five minutes I have something to practice for the rest of my life. That might not mean much to you let me tell you you help me peek over it Guitar Player. Man what I mean is I’m playing drums and bands guitar players do this all the time I go to jam sessions they do it all the time. But I couldn’t just see them and how the fingers move up the neck respectively. So you have opened the eyes of the blind and I thank you have a great rest of your life. You have truly created a wonderful KZread experience also enjoyed your Ed King interview.
Nice job on this! I've been really thankful for you and your work here.
I absolutely loved this lesson and I now have a completely new dimension to my playing. Thank you, Marty!

I tell everyone who asks about my guitar playing about MartyMusic, the "word" is spreading. Stay positive Marty and keep teaching, it will only grow.
Major light bulb. Thanks man, now I understand why it works, as opposed to others who just tell you to go 2 frets up from the major shape. Cheers and happy new year
Always learning from you! Happy New Year.

That might be one of the best guitar lessons I have ever seen..Thanks
