Makes sense. Big Mom was leaving his hometown for ruin. Letting it collapse. Luffy's first thing he does when he sees it is simple. He wants those people to have the freedom to choose what they want. Free of anything. He's the most roundabout liberator for someone who's spent his entire life watching it in chains. Of course Jinbei would do it.

Getting another buff just increases the gap between luffy, law and kidd. And Jimbei is really nice to have. He really has something to add. His ship talents, his name, power and most important his power in the water. Half of the strawhats cant do anything in water and the others still need air.

@@xnortheast1106 Luffy, Nami, Sanji, Brook, Chopper are the ones who interacted with Jinbe the most, so basically the Sanji Retrieval Squad and Robin in Wano had interacted with Jinbe a lot and Franky did a lil but so it’s mainly Zoro and Usopp

Fun fact: Jinbe's stance and introduction is inspired by real life yakuza and their code of ethics. It is a way of presenting yourself most formally to a yakuza boss and asking for either favor, lodging or even to join the house.

After how he helped Luffy in Marineford I don’t see how anyone wouldn’t want him as straw hat

I love how even after Jimbei joins and has a higher bounty than Zoro and Sanji who are always fighting about it, they are genuinely happy about it, everyone respects him.

I've always liked Jimbei since his intro, a loyal, kind-hearted badass fishman the helped snap Luffy out if his depression, a friend to everyone, having him join the strawhats is an amazing choice not just for the show / fans, but the world of One Piece too. Because certain places in the world see fishmen and humans differently, so having one mix into a human group shows that they can bridge that gap

What makes this scene so impactful is how important it is to let go of your past regressions towards a group of people. The straw hats, nami especially, have had a horrible first impression of fish-men in Arlong Park and now they have one joining their crew!

The awesome part about this scene was the fact it was completely unexpected. I was genuinely surprised to see him such an amazing entrance. Jinbei keeps putting points on the board hes such a beast.

I was crying the whole scene .... man i love one piece

It always amazed me how jimbei is so humble even being this strong 🔥 and he s so dependable and they can count on him that you cant help but like him 🙏

So we got the Monster Trio, the Middle Trio, and the Weakling Trio. I assume we ain't just gonna toss Papa Jimbei into a tier, cause it would be a disservice to this absolute unit of a fishman.

Character introductions go so Hard in One Piece! even for Reoccurring characters. I love how they continue to respectfully address a character in such a Legendary way. (By giving us their name title and status)

Watching One Piece for the first time atm, and JUST got to this. Screamed out “THE GOAT. HE’S BACKKK” when I saw that tattoo underwater. I have nothing but respect for Jimbei.

Can't wait so see his face when he learns his new home is the aquarium on the ship

It's been too long, but when Jinbe saved the day with that new drip, mad hype~

Imagine having a former warlord of the sea calling himself a fledgling and calling you boss. That is mad respect. That is how special Luffy is. And Law and Kid just jealous of Luffy

I love how much they all respect and appreciate Jinbei, even Carrot who only interacted with him for a short period of time before this

10 years of waiting in the anime… and it finally happened!!! Welcome aboard… JIMBEIIIII!!

It is still crazy to think that this character who was talked about all the way in the East Blue arc joins the crew

The way he’s got even Zoro smiling that big warms my heart

Kid and Law faces are priceless lol

Tenten: doesn’t get enough screen time, becomes a forgotten character Jinbe: doesn’t get enough screen time but is considered a 🐐 and will get more screen time (Jinbe is just built different 😩)

Well you could literally put any female from naruto that isnt tsunade or sakura and it would be accurate. Shows you how big a difference there is between Kishimoto and Oda. Oda has by this point almost 1000 if not more characters and a lot them have backstories and the like and then you look at naruto and if you're not team 7 or a few others you aren't even relevant. Plus Jimbei's feats in verse are god tier compared to them. The biggest of which is him looking big mom straight in her double chin face and saying I dont fear a MERE YONKO. he got that goat status from that alone lol

Luffy lived through the pain of losing an older brother twice. Its beautiful that he was able to live through gaining one by having Jinbei be his helmsman.

I could feel Luffy's happiness! It's been a long time since someone joined their crew!

I had my first child when Jimbey was supposed to be in the crew now my son he's going to 9th graded lol I was in High school when I started watching One piece more than 20+ years crazy 🤯🤯🤯 and still loved it lol haha

Seeing Luffy's eyes get bigger and then the whole crew with star eyes was such a vibe 😫

Kid: _"So how the hell do you know Straw Hat anyways?"_ Jimbei: _"Now that is quite the tale..."_

Which is normal coz kid was in prison the whole time and law was in wano so he had no chance reading a newspaper which wasnt censored

This was and always will be one of my favourite parts in wano. Everything about it from straw hats to law and kids reaction was peak awsomness.

Boss Jinbei just offscreened Big Mom 😂😂😂

Jimbe is the most badass character, he is not afraid of big mom and now this, introduction

1:12 carrot excitement as if she knew jimbei for years 😂😂👍

One Piece has more than 900 episodes and still makes epic moments like this. Of course this all thanks to Oda! But we all have to agree that the soundtrack makes the anime so special.
