Sometimes the best moments of these videos are when to just close the eyes and listen to the working horses moving with their special active sounds.
Jim! get riding bridles, and a bareback pad with stirrups! I think the suffolks would be wonderful riding horses, I'm one of the ones who'd enjoy Baron's prancing lol. I'd teach him some dressage stuff, just to make his brain work. And Bill wouldn't mind a sprint across the fields with someone on his back, I bet. Love this vid.
I love to watch Baron prance. I could watch him for hours. Thanks Jim and Brenda.

Me, too !! I love to watch Baron prance !! Very interesting, Jim and Brenda. Young Skippy is certainly growing up and I love to see him running alongside the horses. I take it he wasn't too much of a distraction to Baron....?
I can just see King Richard 1 with full battel dress , on top of Baron at full charge 😊 Linda 🇬🇧
Loved you riding Baron! He is one hunk of a horse!
Baron is a very handsome horse and you look good riding him, Jim😊

YUP true that Carol , Giddy up Baron ;) .
Baron looks wonderful in any rigging
In my younger days Baron would be a dream to ride. At 70 yrs old, and arthritic knees, my riding days are over sadly. Bet Abby would love to ride Baron!
Watching Skippy running around loving life is so delightful! Baron is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your beautiful animals and interesting life.
Thank you for showing us the tiling. I loved seeing all the drainage issues. When I was young, That was one of my jobs on the farm was digging little ditches to keep the water away from certain areas during the spring thaw. I thought it was fun.

I thought I would add some more on my thought on the water run off, at first I thought the woods or drainage to the pond was partially froze causing the water to rise , which still may be but when I watched it again, I realized the part that flows to where the cows were is the other direction, does that mean there is a crown in the field or that that half of the section flows that way and the other slopes towards the pond with the high point in the middle of the field? Either way, I think your ok because you were at a spike in run off and also there is some freeze blockage so the water rises to find it's level then spills over, so the pipe may be 3/4" full because it is spilling over at a higher level. The good news is that you have flow and that your culverts are not frozen, that's great! You should see what we have to do in the spring run off in Alaska to get drainages open! We use dynamite! to break out the ice dams and sometimes steam trucks with on board boilers, cutting through feet of ice! So that you are flowing be grateful and it will come down in a few days, that spill over on the pond seems normal to me as you guys are having a very rare spring in winter, as you stated, I listened carefully to what you said (watched twice) and I think your right, ... nobody knows that land like you do Jim, you have been working it since the early 90s. I think your ok and your drain tile is doing fine, it is unusual weather. I feel your burden of leveling the uneven torn up ground. I will say your plowed ground looks great, you have a good plan and cross that bridge when you get to it. Glad to see your water moving, we were in the mid 30s today, so I am removing serious ice, after the first phase, it is easier after that because we are getting our sun back. Looks good, the drainage that is, I hope you get one more good spell of winter, it will help lay that torn up sod down. Thank you, for letting me share my thoughts. Look forward to your logging video, sounds like you had a good day logging, that's great.! :-)
I thought a little bit he would galop thru the wall for a second 🙈🤣
Us riding folks call that little trot a "jig" & it is a pain when you want them to walk. My big Perch/Friesian drives as well as being my main riding horse & I use "Gee"&"Haw" when I ride all the time. He is so well voice & leg trained hardly use lines. Makes life pleasant on the trails.
That little dog seems to enjoy the day.
I'm sure Abby would love to ride Baron!
I think Baron dances! It's the Baron Bounce!!! Thank you for letting us share the wonder and beauty of Baron. Thank you also for letting us see the results of the tiling. To get it perfect will take longer. Early days!

Touch of gait there, take some know-how to bring it out, seen it in Bree too.
Barron’s ears flicked when you talked about him being a good boy!!! 🐎 🥰🙏🎶❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Jim, the drain tile is really doing a great job . As we all know this has been unordinary winter . Where we didn't get a good freeze up . Which is causing an over abundance of run off. Your possibly right that you may have to tie in some additional 4 inch weeper runs to handle the over flow. If these winters persist. I truly think Baron would also make an excellent and very stylish saddle horse . If your going ride him more i would invest in a decent draft horse saddle and an open bridle. Your position on the horse is really good. You ride with your knee bent and if you had a stir up to position your foot underneath your seat with your heal down. You could sit trot use your bent knee and ankle as shock absorbers.
Baron is a lovely horse. 👍😊👍
Baron is a beautiful horse and watching you train him from the beginning has been a great treat!
Привет Jim часто смотрю ваши видео нравится то что вы снимаете вы сохранили высокую культуру работы с лошадьми приятно смотреть как вы работаете.Я из России живу в сибири тоже немного работаю с лошадьми.Всегда лайк.👍
Baron looks gorgeous being ridden! He's so well put together and has a lot of presence. I think you're right that he'd make a really eye-catching riding horse.
Baron is such a beautiful animal.❤
Those Suffolk's are just all-round good horses.
Baron is beautiful. Skippy is hilarious!
all good,,fun to be with you guys on the farm though videos..xx ❤❤ and we loved the fun mount and ride...nice horse for sure..c and s
If you live in an area as I do with with a high watertable you are doomed with wet ground..you can ditch and tile until the cows come home and the water table remains the same.

There is truth to that, keeping water moving is a never ending task, the cattails and tag alder brush do not want to give up one drop of water, and in Jim's case , lots of clay which does not leach like sand or gravel. But the tile will help him alot I believe, I hope.
You need to get Bill and Baron together and take a nice lazy Sunday afternoon ride together someday 😂
He's beautiful the little prance in his step makes him look like such a magical creature, like he's supposed to be pulling Cinderella's pumpkin carriage.
At the end I thought it was Roy Rogers riding off into the sunset. 🏇🐎
Skippie is so entertaining to watch
Make sure you have the ends of your pipes protected or muskets will enter and plug some of your tiles.

Oh, ich habe es gar nicht bemerkt. Ich erzähle es schon Allen, die sich dafür interessieren könnten. 😊
Looking good up there Jim!
It sounds like there is still frozen ground underneath the slush. Baron is a good horse!
Since you commented on matching teams, do you anticipate getting another percheron to match Ken? Thanks for sharing 🙏😎🏝🏖
Beautiful horse!! Like a middleage knight horse❤
Baron looks great no matter what he is hitched up to👍🏻… his jaunty strides are so classy! Wondering if Brenda had her hip waders on while videoing and walking through all that mud?😉She is such a good sport! It has been quite an unusual winter, so mild… good thing horses can go where four wheeled vehicles can’t. Always enjoy your videos. Look forward to viewing each posting always learn something. Greetings from Canada🇨🇦
Wonderful video, Brenda & Jim. Baron is the epitome of a majestic horse along with his prancing. What a stunning looking horse, so glad he's also doing very well helping you, Jim. Was nice to see you riding him, and Skippy is one happy dog!!!! 💕
Baron cracks me up with his pep in his step! ❤ myself I actually prefer his big striding trot than some of these other horses. The draft breed feels like a Cadillac to me.
Baron really is a super nice horse
Jim ride his back like the Wild West movie 🍿.
Baron you are a beautiful horse
Great to see you to ride, great memories of my grandfather doing the same 👏👍🇺🇸🇸🇰
Love,love Baron!!!❤
Fulling from heights with aging bodies takes a lot more time to recover .Slow and easy is the way to go.
Good job guys! It's amazing to see the flow of water in the winter. Can't imagine it in the summer!
Ah Barons favorite thing. Prancing down the road
Baron has spring fever today!
I'd bet he'd make a great saddle hoss for the mountains,
I loved this video. Learned more about the lay of the land which helps me understand more about planting time. You did look like you were having fun Jim. Skippy has so much energy! Wow Brenda you got a workout walking him and walking in a lot of the video. Blessings to you both. Love the videos, they help me through the days.
Thanks for the video Jim.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you Jim and Brenda. When my grandpa first used electric barbed wire fence he had an escape artist mare. He was outside and mare inside . He pulled her to the fence and she pulled him through the fence. Bandaids and iodine. Shocking? 😂😂😂.
Your tour of the drainage system was enlightening. Given the amount of water from the woods, it really highlights how important woods are to our aquafers. We had awesome springs on our land, until the woods above us were all cut down for a subdivision. 6 clear cuts for subdivisions later, and our country wells ran dry. 😢
🧐me thinking tile job was great idea looking at the water maybe an adjustment here and there , delight to see Baron in action, Skip doing his thing! 👍
Skippy seemed to be enjoying himself. The horses don’t seem to mind him. Which is good. Enjoy these ride a longs!!
Great video like always !!! Baron has to be the prettiest horse i have seen in a long time I love watching Skippy with all that puppy energy Thanks for sharing
Great Job, Baron & Jim!!! He's SO Beautiful & his commands are spot on even riding!! God Bless Working Horses with Jim & Brenda :)
Thanks for discussing your progress with tiling. Enjoy Skippy being such a cheerful pup. Baron did such a sharp stop at 30:30, very nice. Again at 31:51.
Baron seems to not have lost the arch in his once-stallion neck.
What a great horse Baron is becoming, and the pup is getting plenty of running time, another great video, be well and God bless,
That dog is crazy he is on the run constantly, just fun to watch.

Alle Spitze sind voller Energie und Neugier. Das hat die Rasse im Blut.
Next time I'm back your way, I'll have to take a ride! 😉🐎
Wife and i enjoy the videos so much neat to see the progress of the individual horses. The 6 in tile we refer to as an outlet or main. The runs out in the field we refer to as laterals.
Nice riding Jim! Amazing how much water is running off your fields and woods! The tiles is obviously doing the job. Baron would look spectacular in front of an elegant buggy - would make quite an impression 😊 Not sure how you manage without a wash stall though - with all those muddy horse legs - how do you keep them clean and healthy? Just brushing when dry? 😮
Freakishly warm year in New York this year I'm down in Schoharie county New York and barely have had a frost this year. Holy cow you could have Lake Gordon up there with all that water.
Skip needs a cart to give him a good workout too ! Baron is getting better at listening all the time. Have a great week Brenda and Jim
Baron sure has turned into a fantastic horse. I love watching him and Bill work together. Great video as always
Omigosh Jim! You were cantering! Bareback! WOW!

My guess is this is how he learned to ride, as a little tacker. No concern about a saddle.
baron does really like to get up and go!
Thank you Brenda for going out of your way to give us great video. And Jim is a great trainer of horses. Baron trust Jim to get on his back without a fuss for his first time. I think you might get a saddle by someone lol
I loved watching you ride Barron Jim, he listens pretty well, would love to see Brenda ride one day 😊 your almost at 100,000 subs too! That’s amazing.
You are all in a great form😂, but skippy is the winner this day, have a nice day !
Hi Jim and Brinda, looks like the Mud season is coming to New Yor State!
Jim made 2 jokes! The one about the sliced loaf and the one about not liking to go fast on a horse 😅
PG here, Very enjoyable and relaxing video. Love seeing the tiles doing a good job.
Piping situation has interesting flow volume . Would like to know the answer to your question to your contractor.🐴
Same here Jim with the weather, no winter yet for February 12 , 2024
Baron is beautiful.
Put the saddle on the stove honey, I'm ridin' the range tonight.
Wow, y'all have a lot more water than we do down here. Thanks for letting us hang out.
Haha if you put a saddle on baron that prance is called an piaffe 😂 i had a pony when i was young that pranced to, he could not walk normal so you were bouncing the whole time 🙄 i got used to it.
Skippy is a bundle of energy
The holes in the stand pipe should be at least 1/2in diameter so the water can flow in

Many 1/2" holes or bigger as the level of water rises.
What a great loking horse.......I really enjoyed seeing you horseriding, especially when on a trot approaching the barn.....I was wondering if he would take you inside the barn enclosure, or if he would take you for an unexpected ride....Ha! Thank You Jim & Brenda for taking us on a tour on your property. I always enjoy your videos, as well as the lifestyle that you choose for yourselves. From a fan in Eastern Ontario, Canada.
Great video ! Proud stepping horse a lovely thing to see !
Your so right Jim,Barron would be off like a shot if you let him.I have noticed with Barron that he seems to be quite settled and very happy, Looking very handsome.Brenda lm intrigued about what you said in the news letter about your dried sweetcorn and making a heat pad...never ever have l heard of this....can you maybe demonstrate how you do it sooooo interested thankyou dear friends best wishes ❤
I find it amusing that you are trying to get rid of water where as in my country (Australia) we are kept busy trying to get water. It is to me a whole new perspective.
Another great video
love your commentors. Great video
Awesome video thanks 🙏
Hi Jim and Brenda Your videos are just fantastic. So good to be able to look at real life stuff I'm a horse lover at heart and breed Connemara Ponies to great success but your videos are very Informative .Please keep up the great work. Greetings from ireland and happy St Patrick's day.

Thank you! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Jim. I have had leaves grass and other debris plug the holes in my stand pipe. Might also consider building a higher berm to hold excess water back during heavy snow thaw or rain. Then draines as inflow slows. This is the principle behind till outlet diversion ditches.
Always nice to spend a Saturday afternoon with Brenda and Jim. A question about your tiling- can you block off the drainage if you get really dry weather, and want to hold some moisture in the field?
Great video. Skippy sure had fun. You may have to put another culvert in at the cabin to get that water moving. I’d love to but a saddle on that horse and take him for a ride. Have a great week
