Jim Peterik: Eye Of The Tiger

I got to fly to Chicago to sit down with the legend himself, Jim Peterik. I met Jim over 15 years ago and we have been close friends ever since. In this episode you’re going to hear the stories behind the phone call from Sylvester Stallone that changed his life and led to him writing the song “Eye Of The Tiger” for the movie Rocky. You’ll hear about how he created the bands Ides Of March and Survivor. You’ll hear the story behind the song “Vehicle” and more. We sat down in Jim's home studio and had the best conversation. Here's Jimbo Peterik!

Haha, that's his thing! He's been doing it for years with his original bands (Survivor and Ide's of March). He didn't just write most of their songs, he was in original band that still rocks out. :-)

Short answer, the older cats try too hard to hold on to relevance, they should just be who they are.

Never says sh!+ about that song, waist of time. By the way his voice sounds like he has been singing 60 years.

Ha!! He does tell the whole story about that song and how he wrote it. And his voice…he HAS been singing for 60 years and still performs with Ides of March in his late 70’s. You wanna make fun of him and say a waste of time? I hope I’m still rockin the way he is at that age! He’s a legend. Have a great day!
