Great to see Jimmy Mac back at QB against the Packers after that criminal slam by the late Charles Martjn the previous season at Soldier Field. Back when the Bears had better than a 75% chance on beating the Packers home or away. Thanks for the memories Punky QB.

If it wasn't for Charles Martin, the Bears would probably have won another super bowl. Hard to believe he only got a 2 game suspension for that.

@@citygirl5705 Well, that was my belief as a 13 year old back then. But there have been good or great quarterbacks who still made it into the playoffs and still lost. In the 1986 season, Joe Montana suffered a back injury in Week 1 and was lost for two months after surgery. Because the injury was so severe, Montana's doctors suggested that Montana retire. However, Montana returned for Week 10 against the St. Louis Cardinals, where he passed for 270 yards and three touchdown passes in a 43-17 49er victory. Montana appeared in just eight games this season, and threw more interceptions than touchdown passes for the only time in his career. The 49ers won the NFC West with a 10-5-1 record. They went to play the Giants in a divisional playoff game in the New Jersey Meadowlands and Montana took a vicious hit by the Giants Jim Burt after throwing a pass that had him layed out on the turf in a fetal position and knocked him out of the game. The 49ers lost that game 49-3. My point is, even if McMahon didn't suffer that vicious cheap shot by the late Charles Martin, there's no guarantee that the Bears would have won the Super Bowl. That 1986 New York Giants team was also 14-2 like the Bears. But the Giants had the home field advantage throughout and they were playing on a devastating defensive level similar to the Bears in 1985 during that playoff run. And during that era in the 1987 and 1988 playoff years for the Bears, they lost two playoff games at Soldier Field that McMahon started: the 1987 divisional playoff against the Redskins, and the 1988 NFC championship game to the 49ers. I love McMahon and eternally a Bears fan. But we have to be honest and objective.

So you're saying Bears fans are not allowed to watch highlights and reminisce about the best team they ever had? Lame comment dude.
