    I love the notion that Taker was in the middle of a podcast, but SENSED he was needed. He teleports to Mania long enough to remove The Rock. Then teleports back to the podcast. “Sorry- just had to clean up the yard a little.”

    If not Austin, then if they couldn’t have Taker either, their third ‘break in emergencies’ option C lol, had to be Brandi telling Rock who in the hell told him it was open mic night, with an ahem mic check to the people’s balls, and runs off with the people’s own 🎤, plus with Rikishi as her bought off backup, turning on the Rock ‘for the Rock’ milking the F out of the infamous lines for the crowd before he drags him off😆

    One small detail I haven't seen people mention is that before Cody does the 3rd Crossroads before Solo, he pauses and looks to the right side of the ring (where solo interfered at WM 39), which cost him when Solo came from the stage side instead. Seth not having a moment was kinda brilliant, he's already gassed from the two matches and lingering injuries, the camera missed it, but he struggled to even get in the ring. All he had left was to be the shield, just protecting Cody by sacrificing his body. Seth sacrificed everything because he created Roman Reigns, it was the classic heroic sacrifice and was one of the most beautiful examples of storytelling in wrestling history. Seth not only gave himself to fix the problem he caused, but he passed the torch to Cody as the working horse champion that will protect the wwe universe. I do hope Roman vs Seth is next, with Seth as thr baby face and Roman ultimately the sympathetic heel confronting the source of his trauma. It would be a great send off for the two of them to battle through all of that trauma and have Seth pay for what he did to help Roman overcome his trauma, the two reuniting as friends to enter thr next stage of their career as legacy talents.

    About Seth being shut down immediatly by Roman. Seth's personal "narrative" for the entire year was that he was breaking down more and more. And now at wrestlemania he bit way more than he could chew and he knew it but he still did his best effort. He didn't help Cody win the tag match. He lost his title. He couldn't stop the Rock on night 2. He was too weak to do anything but he kept trying. Even beaten down and broken as he was he still did his job which was taking Roman's attention. Roman was down but when Seth hit the ring to attack the Rock, Roman saw red and speared the hell out of Seth. And then the chair spot happens. Whoever was there in the writers room was pretty smart. They gave him the Iron Man in the Avengers role. The narcissistic prick that realises his wrong ways and finally gets redemption by sacrificing himself.

    They didn't mention how emotional everyone got, Samantha Irvin was audibly holding back tears when she announced Cody as the new champion, Michael Cole wiped tears from his eyes when he hugged Cody, Seth was seen on the ground smiling looking emotional at the whole thing. People keep joking about WWE Avengers but holy shit the ending really was like some evil villain had finally been defeated by our heroes who went all out to save the world. Many years after my brother randomly bought one of the Royal Rumble PPV's for us to watch together we got together this past weekend to watch both nights. Both of us grew up on 90's WWF and here we were now watching Wrestlemania 40 as excited as we had been watching old RAW episodes. As much as the Elite kids want to scream for attention with the Punk shit on their crappy show, nothing that company does this month will take any real attention from arguably the greatest Wrestlemania ever. It's a new Era after years of crap that only recently finally started to get better. It's such a good time to be a fan again and there is so much more to come too. Bron is moving up, NXT is still killing it, we'll find out whether Bo Dallas can carry on Brey's legacy, the Rock teased something with Cody, Roman broke his silence just to say he's back to square one but that he's already training again, and the various CM Punk feuds when he finally heals and comes back. I love professional wrestling!

    YES! The whole Bloodline thing was because of the Shield and Seth’s betrayal, Roman going to his real family instead to surround himself with in order to get to and stay at the top, but he was so paranoid and tyrannical throughout, and in that moment, STILL couldn’t let it go, in that moment, he hated SHIELD Seth even more than wanting to put away Cody! Fantastic stuff.

  • @dani-jm6wk

    @dani-jm6wk

    2 ай бұрын

    Even during that match though, Seth spent the whole thing baiting him and mocking him. Then he refused to tap so Roman had to choke him out. This one, Seth knew that Roman wouldn't be able to resist hitting him while he was already broke down and beat up and in no position to be mocking anyone. That's why I think we were supposed to see Seth not getting a hit in as an intentional play on his part. I saw it described on a twitter thread that Seth did what he set out to do by getting a chair and himself into the ring knowing Roman would take the bait when he smelled blood in the water; that being a vulnerable Rollins. Plus, Seth comes in from the corner where he would sneak attack opponents when they were in The Shield. That's how Roman knew where he'd come from when The Rock was still looking in the crowd. Either way, it was played pitch perfect. I like how it spins back to that conversation between Roman and Cody where he calls out Cody for trusting Seth even though Roman has been playing it like he's not bothered or threatened by Seth at all. He's still trying to get Cody to turn on his 'little brother' and when Cody tells Roman that Seth might hate him but he hates Roman more, Roman is so obviously bothered by it. That small reaction is just another moment that validates the WM result. One of the reasons this worked so well is because Roman and Seth have always kept the idea alive that they still consider themselves family; brothers even when they hate each others guts. Their feud is gonna be nasty as hell.

If you look at that ON PAPER you'd think he was booked to look weak, but without him, the main event doesnt work, and his selfless attitude should be respected. The true MVP of WM40 in my opinion.
