You can just remove the word 'some' from that statement. I'm yet to meet a Christian that even knows what Jesus actually taught (according to the bible) or anyone that Jesus would recognise as following his teachings. For starters, he taught that people should follow all the Jewish rules, especially the commandments, and by definition, worshipping Jesus breaks the first commandment. As usual, Cm Punk vs AEW fanatics break out in the comment section with nobody addressing the obvious: we always read the same old punk insults (Punk is a Lockeroom cancer, Punk got whooped in the UFC, everyone hates Punk, Punk is injury prone (so is Wyatt and Edge who are paid the same or more but wrestles even less than Punk, Punk wrestled at least 20+ matches before he got injured btw). There was nothing here refuting that punk didn't work hurt that day. If Punk worked hurt, then he has every right to be mad and aew are very lucky that Punk hasn't sued yet. But the haters don't want to listen to reason but rely on the same NPC insults we read all the time. Punk is claiming that he was hurt going into the squash, there are hundreds of people working backstage, doctors, Evps, Tony himself. For all the people saying Punk is a liar: why isn't anyone coming out to refute this obvious lie instantly? Everyone is jumping to conclusions without hearing both sides, and I want a response from Tony Khan saying Punk is lying. But his current silence speaks numbers. Tony Khan and the other higher ups ilk are nervous, hiding skeletons in the closet, something from the public (rather let the unfounded dirt sheet rumors continuously attack CM Punk while Punk isn't allowed to defend him without slander when he does, he's labelled toxic) and obviously trying to force CM Punk's hand to sign an NDA before they agree to a release, just like they made Cody Rhodes and Mr.Regal do one (wouldn't surprise me if they witnessed how unprofessional and chaotic AEW is as a company), and CM Punk is the first stubborn person who hasn't bowed down, caved in to their agreement to an NDA because he has the ball in his court. Punk was squashed by Moxley on the go home show, and then immediately won a previously scheduled rematch; where exactly was Punk's whole journey of redemption, coming to terms with the reality of his position, rebuilding his lost confidence, having to confront his fear in an effort to attain closure, and learning new fighting tactics that would help him in his quest for revenge? When did all that take place again? I have to wonder if Mox has seen a Rocky movie himself.

Apparently, Punk and Omega had a chat soon after and there's no beef between them. As far as I understand, it's the Bucks, Hangman, and Jericho. AEW desperately needs Punk back, and, if I was Tony, I'd pick him well over the Young Bucks and Jericho. Jericho's a turnoff and the Bucks are an anchor to AEW and Kenny. As for Hangman, I don't see him as a stooge to Meltzer, but rather an idiot who did something stupid in airing dirty laundry just like Punk.

AEW needs an adult to run the company. An adult who is a competent booker and knows what they're doing. They've never had any of that.

For some reason the word "interim" really puts a bug up peoples asses in that company. What it really comes down to is that Moxley didn't want to have the temporary belt going into a match were he loses to the champ... he wanted to have a win under his belt over Punk and say that he was the official champ before he would take the L from Punk. The guy is a mark for himself.

That does seem like what it was based on what happened. It was weird and didn’t make much sense outside of that explanation. Which is why Punks story makes more sense. That being said, I also hate the phrase “interim champion” though as well, as that’s just a dumb idea. No matter who wins it, you’re constantly reminding everyone that they’re not the “real” champion so why even bother? They never should have called it that, and just had the stipulation that if you’re injured while champion and have to drop it, you get an automatic match for it when you return. They seem to have learned this by now, but geez did that take a while.

I'll do you one better. He's such a fucking mark that he wanted to be the first 2x Champ before Punk, and wrenched his shoulder on purpose during the match to try and put him back on the shelf, knowing Tony would put the belt right back on him, so he could then be the first 3x Champ.

You know Dave is full of B.S. when he says "Tony put his foot down."

I love how Meltzer's tongue is always hanging out in these. For whatever reason, it suits him.

Honestly, I think Punk vs Roman is a far more intriguing match from a story perspective. Beyond their on-screen relationship (Punk bringing in the Shield in 2012), there's a lot of stuff that happened off camera that makes it a lot juicier. Whether it be Punk not wanting Roman in the Shield (he wantes Hero), or Punk's comments about Roman on Colt's podcast potentially being the catalyst for the fans turning on Roman in 2014, there's a lot they could do with those two. Also, they're probably the two biggest stars in pro wrestling atm.

Dude, Tony is probably one of the people talking to Meltzer.

Idk if Punk still “has it” anymore but I do know throughout all the bullshit high school girl type drama, Punk has made infinitely more sense. I would have a similar reaction if Page/Bucks/Jericho were taking potshots and sneak dissing meanwhile my mouth is closed 95% of the time.

Aside from the freak foot injury he definitely still has it. I haven't rewatched Punk vs Mox, but AEW wrestlers affiliated with the EVPussies and Jericovid camps (including Bitch BaKKKer and her stooges on the women's side) have a track record of attempt to or successfully injuring 1. Liberals, and/or 2. People of color and calling it "botches". See: Jericovid concussing Danielson, Jericovids stooge Daniel Garcia sandbaging Santana's Dangerous Uranage (taking a Rock Bottom style short flat back bump instead of the more leaping up ala a hip toss style so Santana could rotate properly, thus fucking his knee up) etc... Upon rewatch I wouldn't be surprised to see Mox shoot wrenching on Punk's shoulder somewhere in that match to intentionally hurt him.

Just the discussions about or relating to punk is much more interesting than the majority content from AEW or WWE. Thanks corny for providing such quality content.

@@davey3884 All I can say is there are certain people Jim doesn't try to offend out of respect , homage etc. But with punk it's different as punk basically knows the psychology of wrestling business and Jim is interested in his work. I was also not a fan of punk but before you judge someone learn about how that personality has made an impact to the business than just make it a joke. Unless one want to just be a troll. They can just write anything about anyone.

Hell I am trying to figure out how Rocky 3 made sense for the Punk-Mox match. Not just because in general having your biggest money match rendered into a squash was dumb, but also in Rocky 3, Rocky got destroyed by clubber in the first fight because Rocky had beaten everyone and lost his drive which didn't fit Punk's character at the time. Also while Cm Punk is one of my all time favorites, he doesn't really work as the conquering Babyface and always worked better as a anti hero.

Sad to admit I was too when I was home this weekend.

Say whatever you want about Corny and Punk, but when it comes to a wrestling ring and a wrestling podcast, THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD

AEW is turning more and more into late era WCW every time I turn around. Between the weird business decisions, to the nonsensical booking, to the backstage politics.

Brian really hit a home run on this one.... superb.

Tony had no problem with putting his foot down... when the person he has to lay down the law to is a woman. That is why Saraya got fined for Twat-gate while Moxley says fuck at will. It is why he threw down on Big Swole. It is why Rosa is doing Spanish commentary for a company that has no programming in Spanish speaking countries. (There is a Thunder Rosa problem in AEW: Britt Baker has a problem with her and Tony simps for Britt.)

Not surprised by Punk's response to Moxley's idea. I remember his interview about his dumb ideas he pitched for his match vs Brock for extreme rules. He wanted a garbage match.

Definitely agree this is on Tony. It always has been. This could have been squashed even before the all out deal. He knew what was happening, who was talking to who, and who had problems with who….but nothing happened.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: when *Jim* is trying to calm *_Brian_* down, you know something's not right

It's always interesting to hear Brian contextualising wrestling events in broader sports history. He doesn't do it often, which helps make it super effective in illustrating a point. Have to admit, I enjoyed Punk's silence while the Bucks were in exile, as Dave got more and more frustrated about his sources being cut off, while the stories planted by the Bucks got more and more frantic as they tried to ensure they were shaping the narrative around the whole melodrama. And there was Punk, gloriously silent and above it all

If you isolated his star ratings from the rest of his "reporting" I wouldn't believe it were the same person, as the written words give off a STRONG indication that he absolutely can't count to 7 1/2.

They need to get Punk on the podcast. Just imagine how good that would be. AEW needs Punk more than they think. Their product is lacking major star power and the booking is a shambles. It's a pity certain individuals can't seem to accept that. I also hope Brian Last reveals some of the info he alludes to on the Bucks and Omega at some point. He's been dropping those teasers lol Last seems to have a great inside run on the broader perspectives of this story.

I don't think I'd like CM Punk as a person, he comes across as perpetually being in a foul mood and he communicates with no tact. That being said, the more we hear about this situation the more it seems like CM Punk was right and that he got screwed over. AEW needs Punk whether they want to admit it or not

On my cable (Comcast in Florida) Punk is the main face on the TV show icon when you go to watch the shows. He is alllll over AEW programming.

Punk needs to either leave the business or return to WWE. The EVPs and Jericlown are too worried about somebody other then them getting over

AEW is filled with fans and wrestlers alike who are the lowest level internet troll, nerdiest of the nerd uber marks. Punk blatantly lets everyone know he doesn't care about any of that and its all stupid. Those same people whine and cry and talk about it nonstop to try and convince themselves that they have some kind of authority or say in the matter, when in fact, the real world doesn't care about any of it at all.

Since Jericho has gone to aew i have just lost all respect for him, I never knew he was such a coward and a politician, I’m glad punk called him a stooge

Said it in another KZread video of this but still applies I will especially be interested in seeing what Jim and Brian say now that Meltzer has admitted that he knew Punk was injured-which is why he sent that letter about not doing the match- but withheld that information. Between the fact that Meltzer has flat out admit it to being biased and that punk basically was injured before they asked him to do the match, punk is getting damn near completely validated by all this. Punk may have handle it the worst way possible with the media scram (Though it was entertaining) but seems like all those grievances were legit. More than anything too, it says a lot that Tony Not only did Nothing to stop the conflicts but the fact he was going to let a wrestler try to work a match injured, says a lot about him.

Time will be kind to Punk in the long run over this conflict and we are seeing a guy clearly falling victim to bias journalism that is trying to slander his name at every turn. He may have handled this badly (and probably in hindsight was angry at the wrong people for the leaks since all signs point to Jericho) but his gripes were 100 legit. I think the more time progress, we will see not only with punk, but with others, just how ruthless and toxic AEW's locker room was even without the shit punk delt with.

Twice now Punk has exposed major redflags that have been brushed under the rug because he was way too blunt about his feelings and rubbed people the wrong way with how he dressed down fan favourites like the Elite and Hangman Page. I also feel like Punk has no real reason to lie about any of this since he’s still under contract with AEW and is close to being medically cleared.

@@collixioncowboy what's interesting too where their were signs too, with other wrestlers like rumors being spread about Cody and his wife being disliked (seem familiar), and conflicts wrestlers have with each other's. Punk just seems to have really brought more attention to it in the light.
