Mind you this is supposedly supposed to be what "happened" in this production meet.... in supposedly 2009, according to Ole Corny here. How the heck do I know this is legit. This idiot could be making the whole goddamn thing up just to get more views on his KZread video 🙄😒. Cornette is a washed up out of touch old man who likes to relive the "glory days" of 1980's American "Pro Wrasslin" 🤭🤔😃🖕🤷🏽....

@@Thex-W.I.T.C.H.-xMaster You sound like a sexually frustrated troll who apparently enjoys masochism since you intentionally choose to listen to a man you apparently don't like talk for nearly an hour about something you clearly disagree with him on. I get it though, there always needs to be a contrarian in the mix somewhere. BTW, Mike Tenay has confirmed this meeting happened exactly as Cornette has described it over the years. Jarrett, Dutch, and Taylor have also confirmed that Cornette's description of that meeting is about 99% accurate. As far as him wanting todays Sports Entertainment to be like his "glory days" of southern wrasslin; well why wouldn't he? That was when there were nearly 10 different wrestling promotions in the United States alone that made between 1 million to 5 million dollars a year. That was when there were plenty of places for up and comers to work and learn different styles, techniques, and so on. That was when the top guys could actually go out in the middle of the ring with a microphone and almost literally hold an audience of an average 5k to 20k people in the palm of their hands. That was when pro wrestling was taken seriously as a business and because of that it looked and felt real to a lot of people. Between the past product and the current product of now, there is no comparison. Wrestling from 1980-2001 was at it's absolute zenith. Where even low card guys could make 50k+ a year. That's why we continually see both indy promotions and even the AEW do their absolute damnedest to emulate pro wrestling's product and presentation from back then. They know how good it was. What we have now is a horrible product from all companies on a nightly basis. Where all of the top stars all wrestle the same style and all use nearly the exact same moveset as one another. Where all it takes to get a "This is Awesome" or "Holy Shit" chant is someone jumping off of something. Nothing means anything anymore. Fans have to see the exact same garbage every time they tune in and they drool all over themselves when Omega, the Young Bucks, Bryan Danielson, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley, and the vast majority of everyone else do the exact same thing every time they get in the ring. It's hilarious how utterly asinine people like you are. I guarantee that if you like today's garbage wrestling then you would've died from excitement if you watched Pro Wrestling in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Also, Cornette was a HUGE name in wrestling from 86-2010. Hell, he was just as manager for 95% of that time and I would say that during that time period he was a bigger name, a better draw, and a better talker than 99% of the guys wrestling today. I'd say that right now, Punk, Lesnar, Danielson are the only North American wrestlers with bigger names than that of Cornette from 85-2010. Even today, right now, he's wrestling's best personality AND HE'S NOT EVEN IN IT ANYMORE. It's sad where wrestling has gone. No wonder wrestling has lost nearly 90% of it's audience from it's absolute peak. Anyways, I digress.

@@Thex-W.I.T.C.H.-xMaster well other than the fact that multiple sources including Dutch Mantell, Mike Tenay and Don West have confirmed it, the program Jim read off was also shot and televised. It was known forever that shitstain was head of creative for the time period so who else would be in charge of creating the TV formats?! Plus if Jim is such an alleged liar, how come he told this story the exact same way in his interview with Matt Striker 5 years ago?! Usually liars can't keep track of their lies.

I feel like the whole format for the Dr. Stevie segment just demonstrates the lack of accountability from creative in wrestling over the last 20 or so years. Here you have to set up an office set and hire actors but what is the connection between that cost and revenue? Does it help sell tickets or PPV buys or merchandise? If you're going to have build sets and hire actors for something there better be some sort of business plan for it. But the problem is that the WWE has switched to a revenue model based on guaranteed deals with networks and pretty much every other national promotion from WCW onwards has been kept afloat on a rich person's whim. Vince Russo would never last in a situation where his ideas had to have a quick revenue turnaround. If the promotion relies on revenue directly generated from the content of the show encouraging ticket sales and PPV buys then if those aren't at the level they want the first thing they would do is look at skits that don't lead to a match that required a high cost to produce. A promoter looking at his revenue dropping would immediately make the incompetent writer justify the expense of skits that don't appear to generate revenue. Russo would either have to shape up or he would be gone. But instead wrestling is like some weird bureaucracy where things are just paid for and there is no connection between the creative team's work and revenue generation.
