I love these guess the programs!
Wonderful Travis Heckel artwork as always, but this one in particular. Thank you too much.
His knowledge of old wreslting is unbeatable
Guess the program has become one of my favourite segments.
Also in Verne's first match Jack Dempsy was the referee.
“I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a triple today.”
I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a double cheeseburger with extra cheese, double onions & extra mayo today!
“My hand just stuck to this thing”
John Tatum I forgot about him. damn good wrestling card right here.
Love these quiz type segments.
Goodness, that first mid-south/UWF card sounds absolutely bangarang. Would love to see a show like that in person.
The fact that Cornette can recall the territories and years with this kind of detail is absolutely ridiculous. That's dedication to a craft.
These men go DEEP...😎
Since Brian has all of these old wrestling programs I would consider pitching a wrestling trivia card/board game to an investor. A wrestling trivia pursuit or sorts. Maybe Tony Kahn would be interested
Little fun fact for all you wise-guys out there: On the card with the Von Brauners and the Kentuckians, you’ll hear the name Lenny Montana. Montana, at 6-6 and over 250 lbs, would later work as an enforcer for the Colombo Crime family and be cast as Luca Brasi in The Godfather (1972) after being on set with other badabings and boppers.
Last should pause between each match and let Cornette verbalize his thought process. Cornette could talk about the wrestlers involved and start to narrow it down.
Dude how tf does he know this shit, ik he IS the wrestling history encyclepedia but this time he out did himself
Lenny “Luca Bracsi” Montana
Dang. I've been off for two nights. I have enough content to listen to for a lil while. Thanks B &J.
They were the Bolos in North Carolina.
