Haven't listened to that interview but I think any "backlash" is a mixture of being in character, some honesty including being respectful of the talents in WWE, but mostly fans just thirsty for real life gossip. AEW has bitter ex WWE people but also folks that can use the WWE name to get themselves heat. I mean Jericho new group is literally using smark hatred of WWE for heat. MJF is great but i wonder does fans thinking Vince would love him, Hobbs, Jade, and Wardlow end up making the rest of the AEW seem lesser than. I'm sure AEW is willing to match anything so just boils down to what MJF wants. He couldn't be as smarky or profane but could easily be a younger version of an edgy talker like the great Eli Drake is as LA Knight.

I listened to the entire thing and assumed the rift with Khan in the aftermath was not real, but I don't care if it was or not. This interview was great.

Normally, blurring the line between fact & fiction isn't a good idea, but in the case of wrestling, more specifically in the case of MJF, it's gold.

I watched that whole interview. Was pretty solid. Kids got the goods. By 2024 he may have enough sway to get some character control out of wwe lol.. he's doing what cm punk did in 2011 and getting the realism, half kayfabe character 24 hours a day that keeps fans watching wherever hes at. Really good stuff. Proud of that kid.

I guarantee that this will turn into an angle on Dynamite once MJF’s contract gets closer to the end..Similar to the Summer Of Punk. I think he resigns to AEW though. They just gotta make MJF happy and make good on his demands. He’s worth it
