I was there too. Weird feel. There were about 18k in the Vet. However, that stadium could seat about 60k. Dont get me wrong, one of the most memorable events I ever attended. Just a strange feeling to have more than half the place empty and a country music concert to boot. I loved the Flair Hawk angle btw. Young enough to think that we may be lucky enough to see a title change.

Dinner Theater Wrestling, or DTW, was founded by Larry "The Bardarian" Olivier-Shakespeare in 1990 after he crushed his longtime rival Ham Scenechew at the Barter Theatre in Bristol, TN in a steel-stage match. After a successful string of invasions at Medieval Times locations throughout the South (and a failed coup at Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge), the Bardarian accumulated a ragtag band of wrestling-actors, "performance artists," and live-action role-players (LARPers) that would act as the fledgling promotion's initial roster.

First time I ever had a cornish hen was at Dixie stampede. Of course since I was only 10 or 11 I didn't know that's what it was called until I described it to my mother and she told me. I just thought of it as a whole chicken instead of just pieces.

Jim and brian, keep up the great work!!!👍
Anywhere around from the early 80s to 90 is the greatest wrasslin of the modern era, as in late 1900s, & the NWA, although with all the problems & sometimes not a lot of attendance, was on fire & had the best in ring action anywhere.... The good old days indeed... 👍🏻🔥👍🏻🔥👍🏻🔥👍🏻🔥
From 85 to 92 was an era in WCW NWA that was magical. I saw the bash 91 Kansas City. Front row Sting Vs Nikita. Only around 1500 people. It just was never the same it really seemed real back then. Same with WWF I also saw a house show in L.A. Andrea the giant and Haku vs Demolition. Around 11000 attendance.
Ric flew down in the channel 9 chopper in 85 too against Nikita
Dinner theater wrestling "hopefully" they're on the case of the murder mystery of who killed wrestling instead of just playing grab ass with eachother. Glad to know Jim is back and that the record breaking orders didn't kill him. Jim and Brian keep the podcasts going they get better and better Wrestling Forrest Gump is pure gold.
Omg 🤣🤣 the limo story in DC hit home for me because (me being from & still lives in DC) everything he said is/was true about Northeast DC on Benning rd by RFK Stadium.. 🤣🤣.. The hookers are gone & gentrification changed that part of the city over the last 6-7 yrs.. Use to be the straight “hood” & this was during the heart of the DC’s crack-era so I could only imagine 🤣🤣🤣🤣But there’s still a cast of characters sprinkled in that area tho 🤣🤣.. That was funny, thanks Jim 🤣🤣🤣
Jim saying in the fucking hood. Omg had me dying as soon as he said RFK in the 80's, I said they going to the hood of d.c. lmao

The Sole problem with the GAB tour was "PROMOTING IT" (ironically). For the 7/1/86 Philadelphia Veterans Stadium show, the attendance number was pretty much the exact number they would have drawn in the Civic Center. They never promoted via newspaper, radio or tv news. The ONLY promoting they did was the local UHF channel WPHL 17 which broadcasted their syndicated World Wide Wrestling. Dusty Rhodes himself said he failed to act on using celebrity or major media to push the product the way McMahon did.
the way Jim describes the size of Italian Stallion’s giant head is great 😂

Regarding the empty stadium show in Memphis. Why didn't Dusty try to work with Jarrett & Lawler for that show? If the idea is a different challenger for each Bash show, why not do Lawler vs Flair for the title at the Liberty Bowl? Around 1:04:00 In July of 1986, with that strong Crockett undercard, they could've absolutely sold that stadium out had they partnered with Jarrett.

I wish he wouldn't, modern day wrestling just completely fucking sucks I don't watch it and I don't want to hear about this shit either, the whole premise of the JCE is Jim using his amazing knowledge to talk about days gone by wrestling not the shit they churn out now days.
