Traffic has to be one one of the most talented line-ups of musicians ever. Stevie Winwood, Dave Mason, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood. All fantastic musicians, three great singers (and even Chris could hold a tune) they had it all going on, not to mention an incredibly charismatic band.

Jim Capaldi was an Excellent song writer! I have a couple of his CD's and I play them alot! I wish that he had been promoted here in the US better by his management than he was, because his music deserved better air play than it got. His best song is Something So Strong, it's a great song about courage and dealing with big things that life brings at you, I listen to it when I'm upset or need some encouragement of my own. Thanks for the Wonderful music Jim!

When reading the lyrics of `Dear Mr.Fantasy' on paper It's incredible how totally sparse the lyrics of those two short verses appear given the enormous weight that the song carries to the listening ear. Jim held ingenious song writing skills and in a way , it drew a focus on how abstract songs of 1967 were among music groups and how LSD created a seemingly great divide therein. Rest In Peace Rock Hero Jim Capaldi ! `LIKED'

WOW Fantastic interview of a superb musician & very, very interesting. Lucky enough to see Traffic live in London in the late 60's & they were brilliant!! From a 72yo Aussie fan.

It´s stupid you can't hear the questions. Apart from that, Capaldi's way of telling the story is amazing!

I just came across this interview, not really sure what brought Jim to mind? I'm a pro drummer who grew up playing 60s Rock & R&B. At an early age, I gravitated towards Traffic, loved how they blended all their influences, Jazz, Rock, R&B, Folk, etc. without sounding contrived. To me, Jim was one of the funkiest of the 60s Rock drummers…at times he and Bonham sounded similar to me. Whoever posted this, thank you!

A great interview, really agree with his views on Yes and other progressive bands like Genesis technically good but no soul

Love Jim capaldi's music, but do not agree that yes & genesis had no soul! I guess you need to listen carefully to their stuff. Strange thought that though!

In 1995 I interviewed Jim Capaldi and Steve Winwood where they recalled their friendship and jams with Jimi Hendrix. It's pretty compelling stuff. Check it out here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dYmX19KwfdrVpdo.html

This is the first time I've heard Jim capaldi talk. It's an interesting interview and it's a shame that Traffic didn't get much credit for what they did during their relatively short time as a band. The only thing I disliked was Dear Mr fantasy, it just doesn't work in my opinion.
