I Faithfully Forever give my Badass Biker Brothers Bowie Knives outa Honor, Love and Respect. Custom Handmade by Gil Hibben Custom Knives. Get the Point, Neal Patrick Fry from Detroit, Michigan.
I'm 72. I thought I remembered a version where the blacksmith, added a meteorite to the metal mix for an out of this world alloy that no other knife could possess. Anyone else remember this? I didn't see any reference to that in this episode. Maybe the episode was shortened here and there. I definitely remember that aspect, because it was such a remarkable thing to do. I must have been a child or in my teens when I saw that.

I believe that was the 1952 film The Iron Mistress with Akan Ladd.

Ultimately the movie Iron Mistress was based on the book of the same name. Yes. I remember the bladesmith kept meteorite ore and kept it around for a special project. Interestingly enuf King Tutenkamen in his tomb was buried with him two very ornate daggers. One of solid gold and the other one was made of a steel and through a process that was supposedly impossible at this time. Perhaps was made from.meterorite? (Or something else not from Earth?)
I loved 😍 ♥ that show 😍
Thanks. I remember this show growing up. Very charismatic, likable actor. Entertaining tv series for it’s time. Have owned, used, thrown many "Bowie " knives in my 70+ years.
I need to go on more adventures like Jim Bowie.

Try watching the "Forged in Fire" TV series. 🗡
Bowie is a knife of man, of courage, of justice.
You got me. I'm in awe of these old shows that I now get to see that my old man and Grandma told me about...
I'm 71 old timer and you're a 100% right he did add some steel from a meteorite
I don't know what I'm watching but I luff it.

Always did like Alan Ladd's "Iron Mistress".

Off not of
Oh man great show
Thank you for this video. 👍🏼👍🏼 I didn’t mind that this wasn’t the “true story of how the knife was born”. What I mind is how they couldn’t say his name the way Jim actually pronounced it 200 years ago.
He actually bears some resemblance to Bowie.
I believe the movie was called " The Iron Mistress"
So casting really.... plus the stone was peddled... the blade is short as well...
I hope you have the last handful of episodes with an instrumental background score tracked in.

I hear ya, that crooning in the background all the time got old for me too.😫
This pilot was apparently the only episode where the knife played any real part, other than a piece of costume. Apparently, the sponsors and the network were fine with other Westerns shooting people left and right, but a knife fighter was going too far.

The knife features in other episodes, that is, he draws or throws it and uses it. I don’t think anyone gets knifed though. Probably too graphic for Television.
Jim Bowie looks like Kramer in your thumbnail.
If his name was Jim Shotgun would he have blasted that door to smithereens at the start? (What's a smithereen by the way?)
😎
Family related here.

@@conniee. Jim Bowie pronounced his name “Boo-wee”. His descendants said people were mis-pronouncing the name even before Jim made it famous.

Much better than a lot of the stuff we have these days.
The constant church music and vocals was and still is irritating. Not a bad show for its time.
LOL!!!! What a load of rubbish!!!
