Thank you, John Thompson! I'm a CUSE fan and It was such a pleasure watching your great Georgetown teams of the 80's! You made men out of those who played for you, but more importantly, you showed your love to each one of them and that made them even better! Rest in Peace, John!

The 1980’s was the golden age of NCAA college basketball. The Big East with its powerhouse of teams and players led the way. So many great games between so many future Hall of Farmers. A casual fan of basketball at the time I knew I was watching something special. John Thompson put together a great team surrounded by Ewing (who some believe was in the top 3 college layers ever) who was utterly dominant in his years at Georgetown. The Villanova/ Georgetown championship game will go down as one of the biggest upsets ever only because Villanova shot like 70% from the field that night.; go figure.

I never really knew or met the guy, but when I watched requiem for the big East, I found out what kinda of man he was. He set the bar for African American athletes and students in the DC area.
