    JHS knows PEI, the island of guitar! Okay, okay, I exxagerate!! One totally clean amp and one dirty amp on demand shouldn't be this difficult, but so many obstacles to overcome. This JHS pedal nails it and their company demonstrates the "above andbeyond" service we all love. I now have to try one of their pedals. Great video, J!

    I'm glad the JHS Active with the polarity switch to get you going. I going to pick one up as well. I would suggest however, the "Earthquaker Devices Swiss Things" pedal if you're going to add pedals. Has all of these features and a ton more geared towards managing you pedal chain. I've very happy with mine but I'm looking at the JHS for small acoustic rig.

    Pretty helpful, I stumbled across some JHS products recently due to trying to resolve a problem I'm having when I try to use my Taylor T5 with a ABY switch to play acoustic via a Zoom AC-3 and/or through a tub screamer when I need electric guitar sound. I play acoustic most of the time. Keep having level problems and noise issues. Anyway, looking into the wet dry wet concepts and JHS pedal starting at time 10:10

    Hi been looking at your vlogs on the quilter superblocks and got to say you give a great independent view on them. They sound really good then watching this videi reignite what i was messing around with years back. Anyway i have this amazing hand built turret board point to point amp i scored second hand here in UK. The bueaty of it is it has 3 stages of output power. Being a twin speaker combo when you toggle between 12 w,22w and 33 watt each setting swutches between so A, B or AB. Then the penny dropped i can unplug the speaker and plug the Superblock into that! So basically done what you have, so im going to get the SB Uk . I will let you know how i get on. Jhs stuff is first class what they dont know about pedal gear usnt worth knowing. Im sure you know your rig is now like a wet dry rig check out The Pedal show the one guy is a wealth of knowledge on all that stereo, wet dry, wet dry wet. Really fills your sound . Anyway got my Sub and your a tidy player to mate! Cheers

    Companies like JHS do what they did for you because they know its good for their business in the long run. Building the kind of word-of-mouth positive rap (like they get from this video) is WELL worth the cost for them. And even without a YT video, they know you'll be happy and will tell others that JHS is good stuff. They did that because they are SMART. BTW, the amp rig looks and sounds great! What a great idea! Where did you get such a great idea??? When I do that, I use just a homemade passive Y cable, and it usually works. Sometimes I get a bit more ground-loop hum than I like if I use a solid state amp plus a tube amp. But usually when I do a 2-amp setup, they're both solid state amps. I'm kind-of a mad-scientist type electronics geek, and ALL my solid state amps have been modded (by me) - usually to improve the EQ, and almost ALWAYS to revamp the overdrive section - which usually has WAY too much gain (at least in the small solid state combo amps I use). Sometimes even with two of the same type of amp, there will be some ground-loop hum, but only when I have them on oppositie sides of the room and plugged into different AC outlets. usually I have them fairly close together (although some physical separation will produce a "bigger," fuller sound), and plugged into the same AC outlet. And I usually don't have an issue with noise or hum. In my case, most often I have both amps set clean, with a single pedal chain in front. I use two amps because I think it produces a more full sound - and not because I want it to be louder. sometimes with two amps I set one of the amps on "overdrive," but then I keep that one turned down a bit - so the sound is dominated by the clean amp. I use small combo amps with anything from 5" to 8" speakers. sometimes I use an external cab with a 10" speaker, but usually the little ones work fine for me. they all get slightly different EQ response, so the blend produces a more full, rich sound. Volume-wise, they wouldn't keep up with your rig. But you might be surprised what a deep, full low-end you can get out of a 5-8W solid state amp with a 5" or 6.5" speaker in a closed-back box. Works for me! Of course I don't run around doing live gigs anymore - I just play in my living room for my own entertainment. Great video! Keep up the good work!

    Wow man! Thanks for your comment and that detailed review! Yeah I'm less techy than you, but for me the only thing that worked was this ABY from JHS! I tried a Y splitter at first with no avail, then the 3 pedals in the video, with poor results and finaly EUREKA! Active A-B-Y! See I play in a 3 piece band and my guitar is the only mid range instrument, so I thought if I ran 2 seperate amps to 2 seperate channels it would add fullness to our sound. My normal tone is always dirty, not distorted, just dirty. But then I have a drive, and a high gain. So in total 3 different sounds in the run of a night... combine that with various pickup selections, and I have all the tones I need to play the stuff we cover... So I wanted to keep that unchanged and I did. But now, I'll also have a clean amp in the back ground copying my every note and adding clarity, articulation and fullness to our 3 piece mix 😀! Well that's the plan anyway🤔 It won't help my playing any lol but it may give our 3 piece a bigger overall sound!🤞 Yes I agree about small speakers! Used properly, they are punchy as hell! I use a 10 in my main rig and now I'll stack with a 112 for the clean amp. So here goes nothin! Hahaha!

    @@j-man9457 Sounds like a plan! I'm pretty sure your guitar sound will be more full with your band than before. It may take a bit of twiddling the knobs to dial in just the right mix of the two that you like, but the short demo sounded good to my ears.

    I picked up an ABY switch pedal on ebay to hook up two guitars to my amp . cost 25 bucks. You need to feed the output/outputs of the switch to a pedal so you have line outs going to your amps.

  • @j-man9457

    @j-man9457

    11 ай бұрын

    Yup exactly. One output will go to my pedals and then amp 1, and the other output directly to the 2nd amp. The challenge was to do this without getting ground loups, out of phase sounds from one amp, squealing noises and constant hissing... This JHS active ABY fixed all of it! It's pedal board building time 😃😃😃
