This is a real gem. I love the way he speaks about meditation leading to Jhana.

Thanks for the video, very much appreciated it! I have a question about the experience of samadhi. Don't have a teacher, I've been practicing meditation on my own for about 10 years now and just need a confirmation what I'm doing is the right direction. I think i had glimpses of samadhi or not ,not sure...the first time was when i listened recorded sound of rain at home, my body just vanished and i became the sound for a couple of seconds, guess i merged with the object of meditation. The second time , just cuddled my babyboy when we went to sleep and all of a sudden our bodies were gone only pure awareness was remaining. All of the room was there just me and his body vanished. The third time i was driving my car and on a quick succession i saw my thoughts from a side like a third person, all of sudden everything dropped my body felt like floating, my mind experienced incredible joy of detaching from evry day thinking. My awareness was to the roof i could notice every movement of my body,my mind wasn't Judgemental just witnessing here and now,i guess that was non duality state of consciousness. It lasted for about 30 minutes. If anybody experienced anything like that, please let me know. So if that was samadhi, i was in perfect awareness,...all my senses were open. Not like in jhana absorbed in a single object. If you can explain that for me ,please,.. would be great, thanks in advance!

Sadhu! I'm thinking about ordaining, Ajahn or anyone else who can advise me to go about doing this? Any monastery willing to take in new monk? The Covid, the war and the aimless wandering on have taken its tolls on my soul.

Look for Tisarana Monastery in Canadá. Recently a friend of mine was ordained as an anāgarika in that monastery.

Ajahn in previous talks you mentioned loss of mental awareness of one’s body does it mean all 5 senses including consciousness pointing to final stage of jhana? My own experience with Ledi monastery a branch in Myanmar I came back to consciousness when I felt someone threw ice water at me After I went home I started to dream at night my body turned into Buddha statute I am assuming it is one of 4 elements hardness ? Please explain Sadhu

I use a singing bowl for about 10 minutes before I fallow my breath, and after a while of that get the sensation of loosing my breathing, is that normal?
