Very enjoyable.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I really like your work. Shalom!
Thank you so much for posting this....
It is amazing how the Catholic mass still actually embrace its jewish roots, I never noticed it before, we still use a lot of the same jewish prayers: “Baruch Hatah Adonai Elohenu Melek Ha Olam Ha Motsi Lechem Min Ha Eretz” “Blessed are You, O God, King of the Universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.”
the power of love has overcome the love of power
@KingOystar Yishar Koach (More strength to you!!!) I'm so glad it was a meaningful experience.
Quran, I agree that listening to chanting from the Qur'an is beautiful and enjoyable. I am a Jew but I appreciate the beauty in your tradition. I hope you can come to appreciate the beauty in mine, and that we can respect each other as common followers of the One God. As-salaamu 'alaykum.
@MsTommyknocker It does. It also includes the books of the Prophets and the Writings.
I agree! I'm Indian & looking at converting to Judaism!
This is very funny! I am glad to see this controversy is in the Jewish community as well.
he now!
I am looking forward to see how my 6th grade students at Chedar respond to this. I teach 6th grade to students at a reform synagogue where a large majority of the students are in interfaith families, but whose families are raising them Jewish. Many of my students have only been exposed to Hebrew and Judaism for 1-2 years. Toda Raba
@DMC2k10 Now that's mature. Your parents must be so proud.
@MsTommyknocker It is. The Torah refers to the Five Books of Moses, which in Christian circles is called the Old Testament.
@PathofTorah4life I take your point. A Jew was once telling me how if somebody wanted to convert, they would have to reject you three times, then allow you to become a Jew. Thanks for the clarification.
Yehoshua ha Mashiach kept and promoted the keeping ot the Torah of Moshe.
The Torah can mean many things. Most literally, the Torah, which means "Teaching" consists of the Five books of Moses. Many people use the word "Torah" to refer to all Jewish teaching. The Talmud is the Oral Law consisting of the Mishnah and the Gemara both of which were written in the first few centuries CE (AD) Hope this helps.
Torah is the Five Books of Moses. Tanach is the entire Binle including the Torah, the prophets and the writings.
@1984vrs No, the Egyptians took it from the Sumerians. The Sumerians were the first. In fact everything the Egyptians had, they got from the Sumerians.
@MrJ567 They arent incendiary comments, they're facts. Sorry if you dont care for that. And we dont really care if you respect Judaism or not.
One thing for sure religion seems to prevent people in general to have a good life with each other.
What isn't part of your community, facing the congregation or facing the ark?
But doesn't The Old testament consist of more than the Five Books of Moses?
I think if one isn't Jew, then he isn't allowed to make Aliyah, isn't it ? But I heard about 3 things in Judaism that gentiles aren't allowed to do, which is ; Tefilin, Shabbat, and... (sorry I forgot :) ) Please explain me about this, why Aliyah to Torah isn't mentioned in these 3 things ?
I dont understand is the torah the same as the old testament??
@SarahRachel59 ok relax...pathoftorah4life already clarified. I was misinformed by the guy. I accept that. Didn't want to offend anyone, but that was what I was told previously about Judaism. Thanks for clarifying.
@SarahRachel59 Like I said previously, educating your fellow jews is the more appropiate...and if you go to page two on comments you will see clearly: senoramariposa: @darklight254 Not entirely true. Yes, there are Jews that believe this way. But by no means is it true across the board. There you go: "yes there are jews that believe that way"...so instead of making the claim that NOT ONE DENOMINATION believes this way, maybe direct your accusations of slander and propaganda at other jews.
@Tockwork Even if you wanted to be a jew, the jews wouldnt let you convert. you have to be divinely born.
@SarahRachel59 Wow, just when I gain respect for Judaism from this video, you just kill every bit of it with your incendiary comments.
What religion are you ?
Thats what I think, theres little chance of converting though it seems.
@Gracesaves7772 I do believe you're in the wrong room, mate. The Christians are meeting on the 3rd floor, 2nd door to your right.
I'm not sure you mean you face God, but that you face the Aron (Ark.) God is certainly no more in the Ark than God is in the face of our fellow human beings. In more liberal congregations the vast majority of the service, including Torah reading, is led facing the congregation. In more traditional communities the shaliach tzibur (prayer leader) and ba'al koreh (Torah reader) face the Ark.
@a1mint How does the evolutionary process get around the "LAW" of Entrophy? Where are all these transitional forms of species if we evolved. Evolutionary believing scientist have revised the therory of evolution so many times to now include biological mutations as viable explanations for the lack of transitional forms. LOL.
It makes me weep that there is nothing i can do or say that will provoke a true torah approach to judaism. it makes me shuder the power you have to lead people astray
@YisraelZaevKatz By "interfaith", you mean "non-Jewish"?
@darklight254 The thing is, what you wrote is pretty common Muslim propaganda. If you've been taught so wrongly just on this issue alone, imagine what else you've been wrongly taught about the Jews and Judaism.
The Gospel. Gospel means good news. We are all sinners who deserve to go to hell … but… Jesus Christ died for you. He paid the penalty for your sins when he died on the cross. He was buried and rose again making eternal life in heaven a free gift. If you want to go to heaven you must simply believe in Jesus for this free gift. John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
@a1mint Here's the point, believe in evolution if you want... that's okay... I'm not your judge. But, evoulution is preached exactly like a religion and is largely based on assertions of "FAITH". And, yes, evolution has it's share of wacko kooks -- Thus my characterization of some atheistic evolutionists as religious fundamentalist.
@Tockwork better yet, Messianic Judaism...*onslaught of negative votes*
Not necessarily. One of the parents is Jewish, while the other parent is of another religion. Generally, the level of knowledge and observance is low even with the parent who is Jewish.
@SarahRachel59 sorry for the late reply, but what you just claimed is wrong. I've asked 3 jews, and EACH of the Jews have given me different responses, so before trying to blame "muslim propaganda," I think educating your fellow Jews would more appropriate. If you really want to know what Muslims say about Jews, then sure I'll tell...but to blame Jewish ignorance on Muslim propaganda....is itself propaganda and quite petty to be frank.
@pabletion There are no Jewish roots in the Catholic Mass. Human sacrifice and eating the body of a man/god and drinking its blood, even symbolically, comes from paganism. Not from Judaism whatsoever. Nor does worshipping the Messiah come from Judaism, nor does turning God into a man or into the Messiah come from Judaism. Taking holy Jewish prayers and using them for this kind of idolatry as the Catholics - and the Protestants as well in some of those issues, perverts the Jewish prayers.
Oh, you must belong to the church of evangelical evolutionists.
