    @@pamelamorrisonn: What you need to realize, and accept, is that the "NT" is absolutely NOT scripture that was given to mankind by God! It is a false, pagan, man-made, anti-God, anti-Jewish, hate-filled, blasphemous, replacement theology work of fiction that DID NOT come from God! PLEASE do some honest research on this subject, and learn from the Rabbis, as COMMANDED by God in Deut. 17:8-11. PLEASE buy yourself a Hebrew Bible (says "TANACH" on the cover), so you can see what God ACTUALLY said to us! Also extremely helpful to yo would be Rabbi Singer's 2-vol. set of books "Let's Get Biblical - Why Doesn't Judaism Accept the Christian Messiah?". PLEASE avail yourself of these valuable resources and learn God's ACTUAL Truth! .

As my grandfather is/was rabbi on Manhattan Island, and my father, well he decided to take a break from the religious aspect of our faith, largely in part to do to WWII, oh well we've all been attempting to learn again and be accepted... as we always remained in bond with our people, family, and Israel 🇮🇱... but you know... my Hebrew is zilch, nadda, just not up to par, however, my Yiddish is passable 😊😉 Good Shabbos Shalom Aleichem Best - Mordechai Slim Red Tex 🐎 Cawfee tawk ☕️ &🥯 verklempt - (overcome with emotion)... no big whoop...🫠🙃😉

    In Judaism, Sabbath and family are inseparable. Long before the sun sets on Friday, Sabbath becomes the focal point of all activity. By mid-afternoon, family members make their way home, carrying flower bouquets and beautifully braided challah bread. Sabbath preparations include a table festively set with a white tablecloth, the best dishes, silver candlesticks and a vase for the flowers. Favourite Sabbath foods fill the rooms with delicious aromas. An air of expectancy pervades the house. As one of our Jewish friends expressed it, "The Sabbath starts coming Friday afternoon. By sundown it is all here." The mother of the family has the honour of officially receiving the Sabbath. At sundown she lights at least two Sabbath candles, although in some homes a candle is lit for each member of the family. Candlelight represents the Sabbath blessing that still shines from Creation. One can light a whole roomful of candles from a single taper without diminishing the lustre of its light. Just so, the rich blessing God intended for us on the Sabbath has not diminished since He blessed the first Sabbath day.

    the washing of the hands is symbolic of washing off our "self will/I will". The palm of our hand is symbolic of our face. (the Hebrew word for palm is also face) The back of the hand is symbolic of turning away (showing our back towards God); just as Adam and Eve turned their backs against the will of "I AM". The reason for not speaking between the breaking of the bread (symbolic of the broken body of Yeshua (Isaiah 53 www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt1053.htm) and eating the bread is showing we must first eat the bread of heaven (will of "I AM") and then we speak His word/will of "I AM", rather than our will/our words .

    Waving our hands over the candles symbolizes spreading the peace of shabbat all around and then bringing it into ourselves as we cover our eyes. The challan is only the first thing we eat. It is followed by a delicious meal.

  • @janishart5128

    @janishart5128

    6 жыл бұрын

    *2380Shaw:* Girls DON'T wear "those hat things" (kippahs) - at least they're not meant for women or girls. They're only for men, so I don't know why he has the girls wearing them - depends on what denomination they are or they may be "Messianic Christians" - hard to tell. And because the kippahs are white, suggests they're for a bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah or Yom Kippur - white is NOT traditionally worn on Shabbat. Also, Orthodox Jewish women and girls don't wear jeans or slacks, since they are considered 'menswear'. Some 'feminists' try to do exactly as the men do, so maybe that's the reason for the kippahs on the girls - like I said, it depends on the denomination. Married Orthodox women DO wear head coverings, or sometimes wigs, but not kippahs.

    HOW DID THE LAW COVENANT BECOME "OBSOLETE"? However, the Law covenant became in a sense "obsolete" when God announced by means of the prophet Jeremiah that there would be a new covenant. (Jer. 31:31-34; Heb. 8:13) In 33 C.E. the Law covenant was canceled on the basis of Christ's death on the torture stake (Col. 2:14), the new covenant replacing it.---Heb. 7:12; 9:15; Ac. 2:1-4. Thus, if a person insists on holding to the observance of the literal sabbath, he fails to to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the torture stake and thus rejects the forgiveness of sins that it makes possible. It is just as if he insisted on offering animal sacrifices after Jesus had offered himself, the one sacrifice for sins forever.

    *Elisabett Viruet:* It's because usually the blessing is said before an action, but in the case of lighting Shabbat candles, the candles are lit first and then the blessing is said. The candles 'usher in' the Shabbat, therefore no fire can be lit once Shabbat begins, so the candles must be lit first, and then the blessing said. So, it's to accommodate that mitzvah, so that you are not lighting fire on Shabbat.

Each has their roll in the Jewish home and as part of Klal Israel in their avodas Hashem. If you owned a farm would you have the chickens pull the plow and have the oxen hatch the eggs? Why not, you might ask? Well nothing would get done on the farm, that's why not. It's no different with us Jews, let the boys be boys and the girls be girls so we can fulfill our purpose in life.

    With all respect what you DO NOT see is the woman or mother of this house in a puddle just off camera having worked a job and also just finished the 10,000 things necessary for her family to b able to eat and survive Shabbat!! As with most belief systems it the woman who truly carries the ball. I love that these people take time to enjoy God and family. It just sucks that it is so taxing on the women. It’s tantamount to a mother preparing a full American Thanksgiving meal every Friday. And not being able to run the hat water in the sink to clean up!!!

Plus the house has to be cleaned, showers have to be taken, the children, husband and wife, all have to be dressed in their best clothes, in honor of the Sabbath, etc., etc. Plus, a LOT of observant Orthodox Jewish families invite a table full (or more!) of GUESTS on top of it all!! I really envy those women - they run circles around me, who finds it stressful to have ONE guest!! 😱😉
