about:
I was asked to react to the engagement ring that Machine Gun Kelly designed. I was able to see just how unique it is, including using birthstones, elongated pear shapes, pave set diamonds. Another aspect of this ring that took me by surprise was that it was actually designed as a set, not just a single ring!

The fact that it's two separate rings with two equally sized but differently colored stones that form a heart together, is such nice symbolism for an engagement ring. It's still not quite my taste, but I applaud the artist that created it. May they have a long and happy marriage together.

@@moderngoldsmith I wonder, if that information is hard to obtain? I mean, usually, you can easily find out which designer created a famous person's outfit - especially, if it's something like a wedding dress. I’m all for custom jewelry!! My (then) boyfriend and I knew we wanted to get married so we picked a day to go ring shopping. I was feeling a lot of pressure because I hadn’t really ever thought about what I wanted my wedding ring to look like. But the night before ring shopping I had a dream that I watched this beautiful ring gracefully form (think Cinderella’s-ballgown graceful) and I knew it was mine. I woke up at 3am to draw pictures of EVERY angle I thought would be helpful, researched the vocabulary I needed to explain how it would be shaped, went to a local custom jeweler who was an old acquaintance of my dad’s. When he saw my pictures he was elated that I ACTUALLY knew what I was talking about and what I wanted! It’s beautifully crafted and I love wearing it ✨ I also found an oyster with two pearls inside while I was on a vacation- I thought they would make beautiful threader earrings and my husband had them custom made for my birthday!

The whole idea behind the ring and the choice of stones and taking time to co design it is so nice, i had a tiniest engagement ring but it broke, my husband and i wear a traditional ring, but for our first anniversary he gave me a golden ring with rubies in it, when my daughter was bron he gave me a golden ring and a bigger diamond than what’s in my wedding band, the first idea was to ad an stone when kid is born or anniversary. But that would weaken my ring. When my son was bron he gifted me a bracelet gold with suns and stars. That bracelet was those charms because we are everything on earth and between the stars to him and also he almost lost us both due to a doctor foolishness. I think design if you can and dont let anyone tell you that stone is to little or what so ever, its the hart that counts because i see often what that stone is to small! Because they reflect on what celebrities do. Mind the budget and maybe he or she can’t propose with a big ring, often later its possible to be gifted one. Normally i would have my grandparents bands but my mother stole them even when it was in writing it should be given to me as heritage. She sold them for things that no kid should witness

That speech and the end was beautiful and so heartwarming. Thank you so much, I was starting to get worried about not being a celebrity myslef. Love to hear how you as a profesional see the ring, and what fo you think about it, maybe you vould make a simple overview and then a deep dive video on the same ring?

I think the ring, itself, is wonderfully done. Something that most people wouldn't have even thought to do, and most are just plain afraid to gamble with. Obviously, custom made jewelry has a significantly higher price point than your standard issue " He went to Jared" ring and if you aren't a rather artistic person to begin with, you can fail on an epic level and create a disaster rather than a masterpiece- which can be rather embarrassing for the purchaser as well as the creator. I'll be subscribing

I love it too! Although I think the rings were put on in the wrong order; the point of the green stone would then cover the thinnest part of the diamond's band, and the round part of the diamond would nestle against the emerald from the opposite side of the band. It looks to me that is why it gets so thin there. I have read that it is also designed to cut into her finger if she ever tries to remove it, I hope that is not true.

Hot take, I'm an April baby and always thought having diamond as the stone is kind of boring. I'd prefer something with more colour (though I know diamonds can come in different colours, the birth stone is always clear). But my favourite stone is tiger's eye, a semi-precious. It is a unique and interesting design for sure.

I'm an April baby, my family had given me small diamond birthstone rings when I grew up ,so when I got married I wanted a natural freshwater pearl for my engagement ring ..it was so special to me ,and unlike any other jewelry I had ..I also married an April baby and he already had diamond jewelry too...I do love the design of Meghan's ring

Pssst. I secretly prefer semi precious stones, too, actually. The sparkle of precious stones is a little 'too much' for my personal style. But I do love the colors and patterns of semi precious stones and generally find them totally fascinating. I wear jewelry with such stones as well and I don't care, that it's not exactly fashionable 😎

I wish the two pears had formed a perfect heart, other than that, I love it. Edit: after watching the video, I don't think a perfect heart would've been possible. Btw Jordan, those weren't all birds in the background. They were coqui frogs, Puerto Rico's national animal. As a PRican I could recognize that sound anywhere. ❤ Anyway, great video.
