Jetta AC problem RCV
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Follow along as I diagnose and repair AC on 2000 Vw jetta 2.0L without replacing compressor.
If you need these parts you can buy them from my website at:
kansascitytdi.com/tdi-parts-fo...
The dealer and some shops would recommend replacing the compressor for this problem.

Nice tip about the control valve! We don't do a lot of AC, but I'll be sure to keep this in mind!

I will feel guilty if I don't comment. Absolutely informative. With additional tip about condenser fan which I didn't noticed since 18 months of my service. Thank you sir

great video!
I appreciate the video. I seen the high side pressure really high on a Miata before and the car was not cooling properly. After i washed out a lot of trash included dead bugs ect from the condenser the pressure dropped like a stone and the car cooled off. My TDI Jetta has always cooled properly unless the system was not getting power at the battery fuse panel until today . The car stopped cooling like it normally does. I keep a gauge in the duct just to be sure . After checking the pressure i assume the valve in the compressor is bad . I only seen this one other time . That time no pressure , this time its seems the compressor is doing just enough to cool a bit . Going to swap out the compressor with another one i have to see if this fixes the problem. . Thanks for the video

Whats a good source for these valves? I have noticed two different styles for these compressors.
its not just in AC that suck and blow works. but yes as a learning tool, it works really well!😁

memory technique.
Super vid! When you chiselled those two alternator bolts, where exactly did you strike? I'm curious, as you've clearly mastered this workflow :) I once changed out a compressor on a Mk4, but moved the front end out instead.

drive it in. (in being the same direction the bolt would go if you tightened it.)
Good vídeo. Could you say me the part number of the oring seals for the ac compressor conectores for car ac circuit?

dont have those sorry. they are pretty common sizes and I believe most local auto parts stores will have new o-rings. just take your old ones up and match them.
Excuse me sir where could I order this freeon control valve and gasket that you replaced?? I think i have this same exact problem my compressor seems to work just fine the clutch engages and everthing I replaced the fan, expansion valve and accumulator and still blows nothing but hot air...

email me please. Find info on my website at www.kansascitytdi.com
Would my 1998 ALH beetle have that valve in my compressor cause I have a Freon leak at the seem where you replaced the Gaskets and I would love to save having to spend 300 to 400$ for new compressor. Then my other question is do you get that valve at a jobber? I have a company called Auto Camping up here in Ottawa Canada but I never asked if they have parts for compressors

Most likely that is the same as your compressor unless your compressor was replaced with an aftermarket one. Take a look at yours and see if it says "sanden" on the green sticker partially viewable at 5:42. If so its probably the same.

CoolAirVw Rm thanks again I will check it out
I've seen alot of videos about a different control valve. Some of the compressors have it on the outside with a plug does this have the same thing or does it only have the one inside the compressor
@CoolAirVw

This is a mechanical valve inside the compressor. The other ones with electrical plug in (solenoid) come on clutchless compressors such as mk5 (2005.5 and up) jettas ect. We just put a RCV on a clutchless compressor on a Toyota Camry, and fixed the issue.

@@CoolAirVw I changed the valve while I had it opened i noticed there was a good amount of rust. I put it back together and filled it but the clutch did not engage. I'm assuming the compressor is probably bad since it had rust inside?

I cant know if you did something wrong or if there is a problem with your compressor or whether the noise is something else.

@@CoolAirVw I think I realized wat went wrong I don't have compact tool and I think I bend the fan looking thing that the control valve go thru I had noticed that fan blade looking seal didn't cover one of the 4 holes at the time I wasn't certain if it shud be like that . I pulled up a old seased up compressor took out that part it's a little rusty tho I put it in some transmission oil soak gonna clean it up in the morning do u have any advise in that regard ? My AC freezing cold tho just the noise when I accelerate noise go away . Thanks for prompt reply
