As the owner of a 20+ year old car who likes to do his own repairs, this explination is PRICELESS! The more things I repair successfully, the more confidence I get! This video provided me with information that will no doubt help me when my system needs some tlc.

As an advanced diy. This is by far the best explanation of an ac system i have seen. Awesome information.
If you made a whole learning series like this, I would openly pay for it. No BS, better than tech school lol

Thanks! Appreciate the kind words
Excellent video that allows the novice and the back yard mechanic to understand AC components and exact problem and repair. Nicely done.
Thank you for your speaking loudly and clearly... so many people these days just mumble. good video
This guy knows his stuff. Hands down the best KZread video I have seen regarding auto AC troubleshooting.🙌🙌👏👏👊
This is the best video on how the car air-conditioning system works! Thank you so much for this.
This gentleman did a great job on this video. If I owned a auto shop, I would require my techs to watch this. Very well done.
I can listen all day and willing to learn the basics of AC systems. I’m a Journeyman Wireman for 30 yrs but AC is totally different. Thanks and I’m a new subscriber now.
I'm somewhere between DIY and ASE and I found this very informative, understandable. Thank you.
One of the best educational car a/c videos on the tube . That schematic demonstration was way cool man.
A very thorough, very education explanation! I think I learned enough to go ahead and tackle my wife's under-performing air conditioner. Thank you!
The best explanation I've seen on KZread. I'm now going to troubleshoot my AC system with confidence thank you.
This is the gold standard as far as I’m concerned. Couldn’t be clearer. THANK YOU!!
That was an excellent video on AC systems. Very well explained. I like the fact when he keeps saying you don't need a $4K machine to do this king of work.. So many other videos say never be a DIY & do this kind of work. This just isn't true & he proved this. Thanks for making this very informative video..
I'm not a diy'r as cars are too complex these days but you gave me enough info that I can if the repair place is trying to roll me over.. Thank you very much!
Excellent video! So glad I watched it. I have an 06 CRV with a new compressor replaced last year. During the summer it was cooling so well it would absolutely freeze me. Oddly enough I noticed on a warm day in December it wasn't cooling. I assumed the coolant had leaked out and got one of those DIY kits from WM to put some coolant back in it. To my surprise, when I hooked up the hose to the low side, I got high pressure in the red range on the gauge. Now, I at least have a clue as to why the low-pressure side is high. I did not have the expansion valve replaced when I had the new compressor installed! What seemed like sorcery and rocket science before now kinda makes sense! I'm going to my guy and have the expansion valve replaced. A/C starting to make sense. This is scary, but fun! 1000 thanks for a great video!!!
So much good information on this video! Especially why a vacuum is pulled! Never heard the reason why before. Thank you!
Well done, much more informative than tool box tours and tool reviews!!
Thanks man! this helped me diagnose a bad wire that was intermittently turning off the fan. I noticed the high pressure would increase all the way beyond 300 as I filled in freon, even with 4 oz in the system. I thought it was a clog or something, thought the expansion valve was bad. If I just knew a little foundation to the AC system I would of known instantly the fan wasn't cooling the condenser, duh!. Thank you!
3 years later and I'm just now seeing this. Fantastic educational video!
I was a GM tech at a dealership like… another lifetime ago lol. Its amazing how much you forget. Great video, spot on info! I’ve always felt that techs should be pro’s at the basics before giving them the fancy tools. I was relegated to gauges until I earned my salt enough to use the snap-on machine that did everything for you.
That was excellent. Love you see you explain all that but with the switches and sensors. That was not all these odds and ins to check ..great video.
One of the best explanations on how the car air-conditioning system works. Thank you so very much for sharing your expertise. I really enjoyed watching the whole video. All the best and best regards.
Thank you for making this useful info video. I’m trying to do some last minute studying before my HVAC auto class ends for finals and for my ASE cert test. I’ve been kinda confused here and there throughout the class about this topic but this was just the refresher I needed. Thank you👍
Thank you! Exceptionally done video in such a simple straightforward format.
i have alot of knowledge about cars, i must say, the way you explain this is incredible.
One of the best explanations I have seen! Thank you so much!
The best video on automotive ac diagnosis I've ever seen! Great job! 👍
Excellent job sir, you take your time explaining yet are concise and don't mince your words. Loved the diagrams and walking through the physics of the entire system, I have only seen videos of people talking about and pointing to parts on the vehicle and it's hard to follow along.
Great video! You described the exact problem I'm having and it made perfect sense. I never would have figured it out without your information. Thanks!
Great video. This doesn’t only apply to car AC, but all AC. Well explained.
That was the best class I’ve ever taken thanks professor stay awesome!
Excellent video, well thought out and projected as very easy to understand. Way to go !!!!!
The best and the most professional video about car ac....great job you are the best.
Love your explianation, simple and straightfoward
This is the best explanation I have ever seen. Great job!
Most informative video by so far. Thank you so much!
before I didn't know where we took the reading of high and low pression. you really have a good explanation skills.
Really good video sir and your material was spot on. One suggestion would be that once proper condenser fan operation is verified, always place a really good fan in front of the vehicle to replicate air across the condensor while driving when reading and/or adjusting pressures.
Thanks for this. I took my car in to a mechanic to see why my AC wasn’t working, and it turns out my entire system had corroded. I didn’t understand what that meant, but this video really helped me visualize it and look into what parts I might be able to replace for a stopgap

Nicely done the next junior Tech that asks me about how AC systems work I will definitely refer them to your video
Outstanding video with clear explanation on auto a/c basics. It would had been great if you had demonstrated the scenario of overcharged systems, which is something common. I have found that a lot of people just "blindly" add R134 when their a/c does not cool sufficiently. I hope to see a part in this series going into a little more advanced scenarios. Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you for not making a 2 hour video👏🏽 I learned a lot 😊

Subscribed and LIKED! Awesome presentation, great tips and explanation of the HVAC system. I really appreciate it thank you!!
Very nice work on the explanation and the graph very well said kyle @Rustbelt Mechanic
You did an excellent video on different (test) scenarios as related to pressure, AC temp, and diagram. Do most regular shops do AC services, or a customer has to go to an AC specialist? When filling freo, what is normal pressure to achieve when car engine is on 30 on low, 170-200 on high? I don't want to put too little or too much freon. I know this probably also depends on outside temp and humidity.
Very thorough. Many thanks!
Awesome tutorial. Thanks.
It really did help me understand how it works! 👍
Thank You Sir... Time well spent!
PLEASE do this with other systems of the car, fantastic series, even for the experienced tech
