    You are a godsend! I can't imagine having to do some of these setups by myself and subsequently having to deal with unknown anomalies cropping up (especially during flight) due to my own ignorance regarding the setup. Thanks for explaining the way it should function in this configuration and the way it shouldn't. I'm sure you came to learn some of the pitfalls through frustration and experience.

    Hello Harry, thanks for all clarification! Helps to understand what i already found out during my double path setup with a cb200, assist on rx1, sat on rx2 and 900 backup on rx3/ext1. I assume it does not really matter (transmissionwise) wheter the sat goes into the assist or rx2 on the cb200? My theory was, whan the assist really gets broken/fried, the sat will work via rx2 on the cb. My guess was when the assist really broke up it will not pass the signa of the sat😏. So i used all 3 ports on the cb200, and would like to know if i should change that into your displayed config. Thanks in advance! I know i will loose stabilisation when it will switch to rx2...(is that so?)

    Leon, you can connect the sat to both the Assist, and Rx2 ! See diagram number 1 on the jeti website link. That is for an rsat, if using something like a REX3 as satellite set the second link to Exbus. www.jetimodel.com/en/REX-Assist/Connecting-the-REX-Assist-receiver-in-case-multiple-receivers-are-used/

    Hello Harry, and thanks a lot for all your informative videos ! They are Great ! One thing that I really wonder about. That is regarding updating firmware with USB all the CB/Receivers that we already have in the model / models with servo connections etc in place. Would like to hear what is the correct way to do this with any CB/Receivers. Thanks ! BR Totto

    Jeti says disconnect servos, which is a massive nuisance and in some cases it is not practical. I guess that is because the receiver is powered through the computer's USB port which might be overloaded by current pulled by the servos, and in the older R series receivers the Ext port might be current limited too. I suspect it is less important with CBs as they need battery power to be updated. Many people just do it with the servos still connected, I have, but it is your choice whether to risk it or not!

    @@cotswoldpilot Thanks a lot for your quick reply ! I have always removed the servo leads until now, but that is really a lot of work just to update new firmware. I understand that you do it with servos still connected. I will then just power up TX/RX usual way and update firmware with USB. Again, Many thanks for your reply ! Harry unbelievable helpful as always. What would the differences be between a CB220 and a CB320? I have a Valach 250 that will only run on the 320. The ignition has safety cut off if it senses inactivity and shuts down even while running on the 220. After a minute it shuts down. 320 no problems. Have looked Rx’s, Batts, failsafes, have tried without CB just an Rx,just about every parameter. Stumped

    Hi Harry, great video! I do like this setup and I wonder if I can use servo outputs on the Rex 10 for non essentials (lights, smoke, etc) if I do use external power to the REX 10. I was thinking of usimg same batteri into CB 220 with a split into battery port on the Rex 10. Thanks!!

  • @cotswoldpilot

    @cotswoldpilot

    You need to ask Jeti. Powering the Rex might cause problems for the current limited Rx ports on the CB, especially as the CB voltage is lower than battery voltage due to V loss across the CB power inputs due to the diode isolation

    @@cotswoldpilot Hi again, answer from Jeti Support: yes, you can do it as you suggested. REX3/E1 to CB220/R1 (EX Bus) REX10/E1 to CB220/R2 (EX Bus) (with external power and remap servo outputs) The cable between REX10 and CB220 have to have only a minus and signal wires (plus remove). Hi, with the Assist receivers, does it matter how many channels it has with regard to stabilisation using X Bus? Makes sense to use a 6 channel rather than 12 if there is no difference for this particular application.

  • @cotswoldpilot

    @cotswoldpilot

    Makes no difference, the number on a receiver is just the number of servo sockets it has. They all receive and process 16/24 channels

    Hi, thanks for the good and instructive videos. Got curious about a number that appears in the Device Explorer menu, after CBO220 it says [2], what does that number mean? I saw your video for CB320 it said [1] there, probably nothing important but as I said I was curious

  • @cotswoldpilot

    @cotswoldpilot

    It is the number of the Ext port on the receiver to which the device is connected. If you count E ports as Ext ports, a REX receiver has 3 - 1xExt and 2xE.

    Hi Harry! Why are You using Rsat2 into E1 in the Rex 10 instead of directly into RX2 in the CB and then use 900 into E1 configured for receiver?

  • @cotswoldpilot

    @cotswoldpilot

    Жыл бұрын

    If you do it that way, and the Assist loses radio connection, the CB will switch to Rx2 which is the Rsat. That has no stabilisation from a gyro. If you connect the Rsat through the Assist, then when the Assist loses radio connection it takes data from the Rsat and stabilises it then passes it to the CB, so you do not lose stabilisation.

    @@affas you connect the rsat ppm output to cb rx2 so if the cable from assist fails you still get a ppm signal from the rsat to cb. Take a look at the diagrams on Jeti's website

    @@cotswoldpilot Let me try to clarify. All connections are the same as the video. I have servos connected to all CB 210 Ports and four more door servos conneted to REX 7A ports. The problem occur when I enable the "Stabilise EX Bus output" at REX 7A. When I do that, the configuration of servos connected to the same output number at REX7A and CB, are overwritten and these servos at CB 210 stop working. Everything is already in exbus. Thank you in advance.

    Hello Harry, Thanks for your great video's. I already asked on the "Jeti forum" but still haven't got an answer. When you have connected the ASSIST on R1 of your CB, the diagram of the JETI website says "failsafe enabled". I think this is wrong because you want the CB to control failsafe in the first place. So the settings must be in my point of view of the ASSIST connected to the CB: "Failsafe disabled" and "Failsafe type: off". Do you agree?

  • @cotswoldpilot

    @cotswoldpilot

    4 жыл бұрын

    I agree with you Didier. If the Assist failsafe is enabled it will always send a signal to the CB, so the CB can never switch to the backup RSat or 900Mhz.

    What is the benefit of running one 2.4 and one 900mhz vs two 2.4 RXs?

  • @cotswoldpilot

    @cotswoldpilot

    3 жыл бұрын

    Multiple 2.4 Rx is to give you more aerials to overcome signal blocking between Tx and Rx aerial due to conductive materials such as carbon fibre, metal coverings, etc. 900MHz is a backup in case the 2.4G band is so noisy that it overwhelms your signal.

    CB310, if I use a REX6(assist), put in R1 of the 310, I can use the RSAT2 directly into R2 of the 310, is that OK? (no need at the time for an extra slot for a 900.)

  • @cotswoldpilot

    @@richbran10 yes but if it switches to R2 you lose stabilisation. Better to exbus the rsat to the Assist, and PPM the rsat to CB R2. Better still to use a Rex3 then you can exbus it to the Assist and Exbus it to the CB R2. PPM is better than nothing but introduces new problems which must be solved

    Tks cwpilot, it worked, I overheard in the vid the 5/E1 needed EX bus input/output, had only EX bus chosen. Now servo's work as does the assist, only strange is that checking the signal in the telemetry display, whenever I stop transmissons in either receiver (or pull out RSAT2 from the REX6), the servo's keep working but the antenna display looses all 4 antennae displays. I have a REX3 available here, I can try that one as well and plug it directly in R2. Richard
