GoPro Inside a Car Tire (While Driving)

Ойын-сауық

I mount a GoPro camera inside of a car tire and drive the car around to see what it looks like inside of a wheel when we drive around every day.
I remove the tire from the rim then I mount the GoPro to the inside of the wheel and mount the tire back on the rim, mount the tire back on and re-install the wheel on the car.
Then I drive around and take a look at what it looks like the inside of the tire to see inside what the tire is going through as I drive through a bumpy road a smooth road and take turns at a higher speed.
it was a really interesting an awesome perspective to see what the tire is going through as we're driving our car.
and at the end of this video, I deflate the tire and the air pressure inside the tire does something really cool so you have to watch to the end.
Thanks

    This also shows why it is very important to have proper tire pressure. Because the tire is already flexing causing heat and the less tire pressure causes more flexing which causes more heat and eventually if the tire pressure is too low too much heat cause sidewalls to fail.

I was bamboozled when I saw the title and the thumbnail. I wasn’t even looking for a video remotely close to this. However when I saw it I went out of my way to watch it. Seeing that it got 11 million views that’s crazy to me! But hey we’re all learning what a tire is doing while we’re driving on it. Great video man!

    I work in a tire factory and this video caught my eye. I've never seen (like mostly everyone) what a tire looks like as it's driven. There was a foggy vapor inside as you deflated it. The tires do this on the evaluation machines that I work on. This deflation happens all at once on those machines so it's no surprise there with difference in air pressure. Apparently this still takes place with a slower rate of deflation too. Very cool!

  • @hoo2042

    @hoo2042

    Жыл бұрын

    I think it is quite literally fog :) When you drop the pressure of a gas quickly, the temperature drops sharply, and the humidity in the air precipitates out as water vapor, aka fog. Just like a cold morning 😄 I’m curious: do you ever fill tires with nitrogen at the factory? The main reason to use it is that it has a weaker relationship between temperature and pressure, so your tire pressure changes less as your tires heat up while driving. That may also mean it doesn’t fog up as much when dropping the pressure, but I’ve never tried it.

I wanted to hit the corner with a more precise smoother entry and exit so we had a nice obvious comparison on the GoPro between going straight and being in the most stressful part of the turn the Apex, but I was outta time and I couldn't go faster at this location. If my camera had died which it did right after I finished the turn. it would have taken me another 2hrs to go back, remove the tire change all the batteries and come back again, and by that time it would have been dark and I would have to move it into another day. Those are all the things going through my head when we shoot this stuff.

    WIth a few modification you could get a static view of the bottom section of the tire (how it deforms going over different terrain). Here is how you could do it: 1. Select a speed you want. 2. Calculate the tire rotations/second (r/s) from speed. 3. Only keep every r/s frame to achieve static view Use a strong flashlight inside to reduce the shutter speed or else it will be blurry. You will need to drive pretty fast to make it work.

    Youve got it all wrong bro! Thats Chicago's version of a smooth road. Communist/Democrat cities wait until the roads return to dirt before repaving. They pack tar into potholes to help speed up the turning to gravel stage. Common practice is to put a rim shop near these areas. 40000 complaints later, they get the cheapest shit they can find to pave with and take approx 1 human generation to finish paving.
