I saw the tour for Crest Of A Knave and Fairport Convention warmed up with Tull bassist David Pegg in both bands. Salt Palace Accord Arena, in Salt Lake City, long gone now.

Ian Anderson is an unsung genius - unsung that is by the cretinous Music Establishment who are enslaved to US business interests and preferences, and a mind-numbing "mainstream." The legions of Tull fans around the world have a better awareness and understanding of what constitutes music and a lasting contribution to human culture. Ian Anderson is a high peak in rock music that very few can get close to. They can only look up and wish they could get that high.

Yes JT always had this element of parody, and even self-parody! I saw this tour 87. - usualy they finish the gig with this song and all this ZZtop-ish roudies on the stage!

This is the best Tull promo video I think. Great framework story: Quite surreal setting and incidents, poor old Aqualung sneaks into the venue and has a great time - even to the point where something mystical happens, putting him in the spotlight. But in the end it was just a dream - waking hard on the park bench leaves him confused, wondering about the improbability that a tremendous rock band should have a special connection with someone like him. - It's a nice thought that Aqualung, the song, may have contributed to some more awareness for the situation of homeless people here and there throughout the decades.

NuntiusLegis I had this on 20 years of Tull! And like you,...we have had much time to put meaning to the madness of this rare Tull effort at a music video! Of course you see Ian riding off on his dirt bike in the end,...asking the question will there be another 20? He’s still touring!

I produced this video - my partner Jim Yukich directed. It had to be shot near LAX as the band was catching a flight back to UK that day. I have forgotten what the concept meant (other than to feature Aqualung). Any ideas other than Burlingtonbil1's "A Satire of all the strutting power guitarists of the 70's and early 80"s"
