One ,nite long ago . Walked ,in to The Fillmore E. in N.Y. To see 'Traffic' , Tull opened up and this Tune was Blaring thru like a Tsunami..

Like a fine wine. What treat. Tull RULES!

When Jethro Tull formed in December 1967, I was just 12 - Ian Anderson will be 66 in August 2013. Simply amazing this Musician.

These old dudes rock! And his voice hasn't changed a bit, Ian Anderson must be immortal!

Jethro Tull!! One of my top 3 favorite bands.. Pure joy

Just amazing. Beautiful sound mix and dynamic. I am so surprised to enjoy Tull as much as I did when I saw him back in the 70s. GREAT musicians !!!

Sunrise flute reminds me of Osibisa.

Ian is just absolutely classic. Been a fan since they started; went to the Goose Lake rock concert just to see Tull. (Lots of other greats there, too, of course.)

I can see them in the woods throwing down ale or wine 🤟🤟🤟🤟 or whatever Meade was easiest to possess from the local pub. Playing their songs, finding their ladies, and having a hell of a time. Just when they realize the ladies are magical beings that ............... well it's midnight and we will not know until a few weeks from now......... or did l just go to sleep ?

One of my absolute favorite Tull songs, love the energy and simplicity of this tune.

I'm always amazed at how good Ian is - him and his band, of course. I usually see people their age really slowly (or quickly) getting old and these guys are always just the same, meaning always excellent energy and perfect quality.

Tull playing live NEVER let you down!

When I first heard this I immediately went out and bought Stand Up brilliant.

Ian Anderson is so wonderfully talented. Was a big fan of his in high school and actually play one of his melodies these days though it's heavily modded. It's from Minstrel in the Gallery and is called The Whistler. Great celtic melody at it's roots. I added my own melody also for the bridge, so it's a few bars of his and then a few bars of mine.

Excellent live rendition. Very tight musicianship. Martin is smokin' on that guitar part after the drum solo.

I think Doane did a great homage of Clive's 1970 Isle of Whight solo, highlighting all of Clive's best fills of that solo including the "head-bend" on the snare at the end! Very tastey! But then again, Jethro Tull has always been a class act regardless of the lineup!

Disagree, Barlow was the best drummer Tull ever had. Barlow joining the band was what allowed Tull to start playing more complex stuff. According to Ian, Clive had some trouble keeping time in odd meters and didn't feel comfortable playing them, so Barlow joining opened up more possibilities in terms of what kind of material they could write.

Saw Barrie with Tull in ‘78, one of the best performances I’ve seen by a drummer. The guy is simply brilliant.

They both were extremely talented and underrated. Maybe the most underrated ones in rock history... What a shame!

He's got an electric pickup on that flute! Nice! Those are fun!

J'ai vu Jethro Tull in Festhalle Bern Bursing out and thé drumm solo is great Barlow was Good. And Martin Barre, John Evan excellent. Great mémoires.

I never thought I'd hear the claghorn on a live recording, let alone see it played live, let alone have Ian introduce it. Clag on! Apparently Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond invented it? Also, what a particularly good and crisp recording job for this.

doan is one of the best drummers ever, the only usa musician played in tull, his didactic vhs is from other world, what a sound this premier and this paiste, amazing

Not entirely true Jaime. Mark Craney, who did such splendid work on the A album and tour and a very dear friend of Doane's was also American. Passed away a few years back from a long time.....congenital kidney ailment I think it was.

im not a musician, but i believe tone and timbre are the same thing. i, too, like the sound of this thing - it's low, warm, possibly baritone-ish. funny how Ian roasts it here - im sure deep down he loves it.
