Jet2 Boeing 757-21B Lanzarote to Manchester | Full Flight

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

After a fantastic week in Lanzarote, it was unfortunately time to head home, this did at least allow for another flight on a Boeing 757. We were promptly transferred from resort to the airport and checked in around 2 hours prior to departure. Lanzarote Airport was considerably busy, yet the experience was smooth and pleasant getting through the airport. The flight today was to be operated by G-LSAI, the oldest of the Jet2 757's at 35.6 Years, unfortunately for me, another frame that I have already flown on. This was actually the first Jet2 757 I flew, back in 2015 from Faro to Leeds Bradford. We boarded on time and settled in for the near 4 hour flight ahead of us.
Takeoff today from Runway 03 was spectacular, with a near TOGA power setting, the power and sound of the RB211's were incredible, if you look closely during the spool up you can actually see the cowling change shape when takeoff power is applied, this is likely a result of the high amount of air being sucked in. Once airborne we were treated to excellent views over the island before coasting out over the Atlantic. Today's inflight meal was another new one for me. Thai Beef Massaman Curry, this was absolutely fantastic and one of the better pre-order meals I've had from Jet2. The remainder of the flight went by quickly and we were treated to a fantastic sunset while we made an approach and landing into Manchester landing on 05L and taxiing past an ex-Interjet A321neo as well as getting a brief glimpse of Jet2's new A321neo G-SUNB. We eventually disembarked around 10 minutes early.
This was a great way to end an equally great holiday which a seamless departure experience from Lanzarote, a comfortable seat and cabin, in great condition regardless of it being the oldest in the fleet. An excellent inflight meal served by very friendly and attentive cabin crew. Finally, a very punctual arrival and smooth experience at Manchester.

Anyone notice the indentations appear on the engine cover just after powering up?

Yes - never noticed it before on any plane. Those engines on a 757 are very over spec for the plane so they must have had the thrust set close to 100% for it to create a vacuum from the air it was sucking in to depress the cowling.

Yeah it was an interesting one to see, I think as stated it was a result of the air being taken in

    I wish I could go on a 757 (G-LSAA) except that one's been scrapped. Have you ever been on G-GDFF, that's a jet2 737-800

Hi I’m flying on this on Saturday! Do they use both back and front door to exit/board?

Depends on the gate used. If a jetbridge is used they will only use that
