It's the same with many disaffected ex-Catholics/Jews/Christians in the West. Some of the most fervent secular, anti-religious, humanitarian ideologues are all coincidentally people who felt in some way slighted, let down, or tricked by their understanding of their former religion. I challenge anyone to find such a person who does NOT have this kind of background who began secular and remained so after living a full life of experiencing any kind of desperation, significant loss or adversity. Religion is indeed for the weak, the needy, the hungry, the broken, for we are all these things, and if we are not yet, we will soon be. Throw away your faith in exchange for contrarian enlightenment with great measure of certainty, for it is the the path to misery and relativistic nihilism.

@@FA-hb3hf I'll say you wrote a lot to unpack there but let me address some of your points. 1. Whenever you are listening to someone else even if its in your native language, you are interpreting their speech. There is no escaping this. If you are going to say that we can't trust the Bible because its been interpreted into a different language than you have to say that we can't trust anything that has ever been written or spoken because it will be subject to interpretation. 2. Context is always key and if you read on in John 17 you will see that Jesus does equate Himself with God by stating that He shared glory with Him before the world existed. Phillipians 2:5-11 explains this concept as while He was God, He did not consider it a thing to be grasped. 3. In Mark 13:32 it is important to remember that Jesus was God incarnate meaning that while He was God, He was also confined to his human flesh and was limited by His humanity. So while He was on earth this knowledge was hidden from Him. 4. In regards to your points on the differing accounts in the gospels, this is actually support for their authenticity, not their inaccuracy. Just as a quick example, if you were a detective investigating a crime scene and you were to interview the eye witenesses, you would not want them to all report that they saw the exact same thing as any defense attorney would easily just say to the jury that they colluded on their stories! In an ideal scenario you would want the eyewitnesses to agree on the main points but differ in the details as every person has a distinct view of an event that is unique to them. Just because one gospel says that Jesus got his feet washed before his crucifixtion with no meal and the other doesn't mean the events never happened. John as an indivdual might have thought that the washing of the feet was more important than the supper and vice versa for the other authors. 5. A good resource on all of your questions would be J Warner Wallace's book cold case christianity. As for myself, I have compiled why I believe Christianity here: www.docdroid.net/iKawnos/140-datapoints-for-christianity-docx

It’s funny because he argues that the Bible is not meant to be read literally as a history book after criticizing the Bible for placing the Crucifixion on a wendsday and a Thursday 😅 As a Catholic I agree with a lot of what he said and it doesn’t take away from Jesus being Christ the Son of God. He admitted as much. Some people just dislike Christianity and it’s clear that he is one of those people because of how unfair he is judging Christianity based on his own standards.

Funny you should mention his own opinion because most of the biblical scholars have their own opinion of Jesus. And that includes Mathew and Paul who had a different opinion of not just Jesus a historical figure but also the historic events that happened around him. If you read his book and see his footnote references, his source are mostly the early Christian scholars. To understand the mindset of early Christian, have a discussion with some African born Christian and see how much you differ with them. My Nigerian Christian friends even refuses to eat pork. He has his reasons from the same book from which you think it is okay to eat it. Like slavery and US Civil war where both side justified their stance from the same book

@@omarayoubi7861 interesting comment. I enjoyed the segment and I agree with majority of what you just said, if not all of it. I'll add this, and you may not agree with all but interested to read your commentary follow up... It's all based in interpretation and /or manipulation of what's written in efforts to promote a higher sense of self and ones position in the world. Unfortunately, history shows that has often come at the expense of someone else's joy. The man speaks to that. In its simplest sense, Jesus, Christianity, and tend to have a with us or against us, type of feel. There's one and then there is no other sort of feel. The one "true" God. Most religions have some of this, but j speak more to Christianity right now bc that's the topic and predominant religion of America, west. Christianity, Christians, especially of america have and always tend to embody an inflated sense of their purpose. This is why things like manifest destiny were generally accepted. The need to convert...missionaries....its almost like a super hero feel .... The man is critical of Christianity but is smart enough to explain why....just like some policy or constitution, law...folks argue over the interpretation of that everyday... So it's not weird for folks to debate the meaning of scripture from centuries ago, well it shouldn't be. Even with that said, metaphors and all, the Bible, Christianity, was birthed in conflict and has always been divisive and has been associated with superiority and prestige. Folks use text literally if it fits their agenda or narrative... Scripture was used to justify wars slavery etc . This man knows that, doesn't subscribe to it, and to me , that's ok.

Jesus said to Thomas touch me and see that I'm real. Jesus never said this world isn't real nor taught anything of the sort. New heaven and new earth He promised. He taught that man is wicked and needs to pay for their sins, hence he is the payment on their behalf. Be fair to the whole bible and don't cherry pick. Look at what Jesus claims throughout the whole bible. His blood was very real and the pain He felt when they struck Him, set a crown of thorns on His head and pierced His feet and hands were very real. He never said to look beyond the veil but He did teach us to see that life is far more than clothing and food, that the only important thing is receiving Him as the Son of God and to believe in Him. Are you believing in His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins? If not you have not understood Christ nor His sacrifice or blood for atonement. You have not known nor have been fair when he told Peter, get thee behind me Satan, shall i not drink the cup my Father gives me? You have not understood that Isaac represented us being burnt as Abraham was going to burn him then God stepped in and told him that he would provide a lamb and to let the boy go, that Lamb represents Jesus. You have not understood Jesus.

So funny and sad at the same time when someone start talking about other’s beliefs in depth as if they know better than the believers, but he doesn’t believe the same beliefs. Only born again Christians can understand the bible, and yes Christianity is a foolish religion in world’s view, if not, they would not crucify Jesus. This man is a perfect example on how the world should view Jesus Christ and born again Christians. If Jesus was crucified, all Christians should expect the same treatment, either literally or metaphorically.

He said since Jesus’s nickname was Jesus the Nazarene that there is no way he was born in Bethlehem makes no sense and is a clear example of him taking something and twisting it. Also talking about the day mix ups.. regardless of if that is true or not that’s such a small detail once again to try to derail people off the importance of the heart of Gods message.

In all the big archives and libraries at various prestigious religious higher education universities…in the older gospel books which were written by hand by scribes…no two books are the same, each book has a multiple of differences and some major ones. Luke states they went to Nazareth because that was Mary’s hometown and Joseph and Mary lived there together….then they went yo Bethlehem because Joseph is a descendant of David and that is were the house/family of David is.

I’m alarmed at the ignorance concerning the nature of the biographies of Jesus. The Synoptics plus John all aspire to give a historical account of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Just take Luke (because the guest referred to Luke) who gave the most sophisticated genealogy of Jesus lineage going back to Adam. Luke gives names, dates, and locations in order to be fact checked by readers. Luke is certainly (along with the other Gospel writers) making historical claims. This doesn’t prove Christianity alone, but it is factual that the gospel writers were intending to record historical facts. Not allegory or metaphor.

Faith is soo much more than just believing. Like the Bible says, even the demons believe (in Yeshua) and they tremble! If the Bible isn’t true, and God’s not the creator of everything, and Jesus didn’t come to give us life, then there’s no hope or purpose for anyone or anything. Just think about it. Where did we come from? Why are we here? And where are we going? The Bible answers all of these most important questions with truth. It’s all about a relationship with Jesus God. He created us all for a special purpose, because He loves us, and if we desire to love Him and want to be joined to him, Then He will gladly join to us through His Holy Spirit (praise God for His goodness 😊). Then we will be his children, and we’ll be able to live out His good and great plan of love, joy and peace. As Christians, we should always be intellectuals who have an open heart and open mind, but ready to stand for truth in love. ❤️

My man, everyone is entitled to have an opinion about everything nowadays, and I wouldn't comment anything of what you said if this channel wouldn't have had views from all around the world. Therefore I cannot accept that such amount of people to believe a made up Bible that you present, and probablly never read. Two things I want to emphasize: First, there is no such thing as Jesus dying in different days on different gospels, and you can check that by yourself and Secondly, the historical context was probably the one that meant the most, concerning the prophesies and the fact that Jesus was rejected by "the rich" and accepted by the poor. Bellow you can see some really suggestive passages. And no, the actual vers was not "those who have will have it taken away from them and those who don't have will get it" but "Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.” Mark 4:25 I got you, that can happen when you read the Bible in a too literal way😆😆 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God John 1:11‭-‬12 NIV At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. Matthew 11:25‭-‬26 NIV “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18‭-‬19 NIV Lord Jesus doesn't thought us to be equally but far superior than that: Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles Lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. Luke 22:25‭-‬26 NIV

Jesus never rose from the dead. He got killed by the Romans. He was a rabbi revolutionary and his apostles spread across Europe and Asia spreading his version of Judaism and revolution. Hence why Nero blamed them for the fire. Eventually Christians gained in number because they did free funerals and had food and wine on weekends. It was seen as a goofy funeral and singing club by Roman’s. Obviously they changed and came up with the myth of Jesus and combined his story with other legends and myths. They also stopped the revolution talk because they didn’t want to get executed.

Jesus was a revolutionalist who challenged the status quo by advocating for radical ideas of love, compassion, and equality that challenged established religious and societal norms of his time. He preached a message of inclusivity, reaching out to the marginalized and oppressed, regardless of social status or background. His teachings emphasized forgiveness, turning the other cheek, and caring for the poor and downtrodden. Jesus confronted religious hypocrisy and criticized the oppressive systems of his time, promoting a vision of a kingdom where the last would be first and the powerful would serve. His actions and words sparked a movement that transcended societal boundaries and continues to inspire change today.
