    1. The amp settings don't change the pitch of the guitar, it only makes certain frequencies louder. 2. Varg used a radio as a guitar amp in the album this track is on, which doesn't have a "presence" setting like the peavey amp. 3. This is still e standard but slight higher. Maybe try checking your facts before commenting

  • @AlexeyLys

    @@shlacked2690 As far as I know Varg also used the Boss distortion pedal HM-2 with the Filosofem album. That pedal also has some extreme hights (when everything turned max). Plus 4 years ago when Varg used to have his youtube channel I asked him directly which tune did he use. He answered probably E standard. He was not 100% sure. Maybe the pitch was later changed somehow else, I don't know.

  • @shlacked2690

    @shlacked2690

    @@AlexeyLys the pitch could have been changed due to the tape speed. in his post prison albums, he also used max presence setting on the peavey amp head he used, and the guitars come in at 440 hz which is normal for E standard, as oppose to 450hz in the pre prison stuff. also, if you listen closely, the guitars come in slightly sharper in the “jesus’ tod” track than in the “dunkelheit” track.
