Watch this video, where Matthew asks few questions to Jesus about his sermon being a little hard to understand.
Just love his innocence in the series...… just like a child.

@@IanHunter78 You might re-watch it and pay closer attention. Jesus changes HOW he phrases things based on Matthew's recommendations. IF it was only a "teaching moment", it might be a bit more "innocent" in its addition (remember - there is no such consultation recorded in Scripture, yet this show depicts it as a factual part of the story).

@@DavidNicholson101 I don’t think they mean it like that. I think they mean it like Jesus was a human. And a thing about it is, he was. He was in human form he intentionally brought himself down to our level, he lived among us. He ate where we ate. He drank what we drank. He lived how we lived. He lived a human life in order for the sacrifice to be made. No one is saying that Jesus in the show is any less powerful than he is. He’s still God. But the Bible doesn’t show as much as Jesus is human life that he lived. Since he lived among us, it stands the reason that he would act like us he had friends he was jovial he would’ve danced, had fun with the rest of us. He went out of his way to find people to spread his word, his disciples. I don’t think it’s bad that the show shows Jesus in a human light. He was human, but now, the sacrifice is done, and he is with his father and the Holy Spirit.

He says the scripture in this scene, to be salty...In today's time for some odd reason they've twisted the term to mean the opposite, salty today means being angry all the time. But when he said it, he meant to be interesting, think you are about to give a toast for dinner. To be salty is to know what to say, be it a joke or a speech and since he is god he invented it. Anything it is now is bogus inane nonsense spoken by the illiterate if it isn't following the original meaning.

His son did not suffer his wrath to justify who is right and who is wrong in religious standard but to teach us what no one is listening to. Seek me and you shall find me. How many times do you go to church how many times you listen to your congregation now ask yourself how many times have you sat and prayed to father and ask for his sermon. Seek and you shall find. If you don’t find yourself crying everyday in the beauty of his love or crave his word and his truth then brother I tell you, your not seeking. Don’t give up because everyone else will but he won’t on you. He will listen he will answer and he will send the chosen to lead you home to your bothers and sisters where there is peace, patience, love, beauty and glorify his name. Brother he does listen. When he says he doesnt want passive followers, i get what he means. Following christ whole heartedly is difficult. Sacrificing my desires and temptations...things ive done or have grown accustomed to doing, that have became habits...specially when its all around us or our friends who live that lifestyle. Its truly a difficult path but though i stumble, i surely find myself slowly breaking the habit as i continue to build my relationship with jesus. I find myself constantly telling myself to "keep God first" in everything i do.

I found it a scary scene to be honest. Harsh words packaged in a gentle smile. Sure, people are making a mess of the world, but fearmongering doesn't help, or it would at least let people do the "right" things for wrong reasons, namely fear, which makes it dishonest and not right at all. It should come from the heart and not because you're being threatened. But Christians seem to love being threatened with hell and damnation. Apparantly they don't believe in the slightest that there is a natural goodness in people. Jesus doesn't either I guess, which this scene kind of tells us

This is such a total contradiction to previous episodes where he seemed like a compassionate, forgiving person. And then he acknowledges things like this with a gentle smile on his face. Harsh and almost wrathful, and he doesn't really give an explaination to Matthew's questions about everyone being an adulterer and a sinner walking around with one eye. I can't put these contradictions together. It feels scary. Is that just me? I don't expect Jesus to be all unicorns and candy, but this sounds merciless.
