Heathens have been distorting the message and life of Jesus ever since he walked the earth. This is nothing new. One day, when Elton John is permanently separated from the presence of God, he'll understand the seriousness of his defamation of Jesus. I pray that his eyes will be opened and he turn from his life of sin before it's too late.

I feel every man should be free to choose that which he believes; having said that, I believe he's an idiot, trying to make his sin acceptable. I can't help but think he will be sorely disappointed with his choice in the afterlife.

well first of all Jesus never said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." When scribes were translating the Greek texts into Latin they added that in. The NIV translation, however, doesn't translate from the Latin scripts but from the orignal Greek and that story isn't in there.Second, The 10 comandments says not to "murder" which means taking an innocent life. Capital punishments for committing a crime isn't murder. There's actually a lot of things the Bible allows you to kill for.

@Mike7772009 Jesus never said anything against gays, but he did say judge not lest ye be judged. There's nothing wrong with being gay. If more Christians followed what Christ said about peace and love turning the other cheek, instead of sitting in judgement and persecuting people simply for being different, and blasting foreigners to smithereens, the world would be a better place.

And what's gone into the gospels has been highly selective anyway, to emphasise the divinity of Christ, leaving out other accounts. But Christians are supposed to follow the mssage of Christ, aren't they, not just the parts of the old testament that suit? The old testament doesn't just allow for killing as a punishment of certain so-called sins; it advocates it, (quite appallingly) yet once again we have "Christian" hypocrites- sinners themselves- up in arms against gays as priority obsession

Your comment sounds nice and philosophical, but quite frankly, you misquoted the verse in it's intended form. Does Jesus Christ love gays? Absolutely? Does God condone homosexuality, or should I say, wink at sin? I don't even need to state my opinion on that subject, for the Word of God speaks abundantly about this significant issue. No He does not.. A true follower of Christ does not hate gays, but the sin. There is a huge distinction. As far as Elton John, his statement was very inappropriate.

Getting off-topic of things at hands, I noticed that one of the guys from Impractical Jokers is with him in that shot.

Whether you're Christian or not, "Love thy neighbour". "Judge not lest ye be judged" "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is not a good law" emphasise tolerance rather than retribution and fault-finding. Jesus did not specifially exclude gays from that. I'm not talking about the bible as a whole to stress its tolerance (the old testament certainly isn't tolerant), i'm responding to Christian homophobia, hypocrisy and selectivity. Christians are not Jews. Christ is surely their guide.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Remember the mote and the beam, looking to one's own faults before the faults of others. There is the old testament and there is the new. Christ did not condemn homosexuality. There are contradictions in the bible and if taking every word as to be followed, there are also old testament laws which order killing for certain "sins". Are such orders to be followed as the word of God? Most followers of the bible and Christianity are very selective.

@Disturbedfan009 No it's not- Elton is rightly upset with the intolerance of so many organised religions towards something which occurs naturally and is not a choice. People choose to follow hateful religions (which often pervert the source- Christ said "judge not lest ye be judged" and never a word against being gay). I don't agree with all religions being banned but many organised religions are a cause of hatred and wars rather than a force for good.

All that and Pope still invested in Rocketman movie. You just can't teach some people. They're born without souls. They have nothing to lose like you or I.

I don't see Christians getting so hot under the collar and enacting the death penalty over other "mortal" sins . These are merely repressive opinions, not fact. I think we should live and let live, and someone's sex life is their own business if not harming others (unlike many paedophile priests),, also that gays are born not acting from choice. It's very unfortunate for them to have to suffer so much hatred and bigotry- why would they choose such fate? Some become suicidal due to the discrimination and hatred. Do you agree that the Word of God is inspired by the Holy Spirit? The Word of God specifically says that it is. Christ did not condemn drunkeness..Does that mean now that it is not sin? Christ did not condemn transgenderism. Does that mean it is not displeasing in His sight? Don't interpret my comments as hate, because I am not hateful towards homosexuals. I will however speak out on this topic when one firmly believes that it is not sin. My next post will list scriptures on this very subject.

See all the hateful unChristian "Christians" up in arms and filled with hatred- shame on all you judgmental hypocrites who pervert Christ's teachings. Love one another, turn the other cheek, blessed are the peacemakers, judge not lest ye be judged....It is no sin to be gay, Christians should follow Christ's message, not selected teachings elsewhere. Christ is not being criticised in being considered gay by a gay person, any more than in being considered straight by a heterosexual person.

Jesus said that the Word of God will be what judges us one day. Not our philosophical ideologies. I refer you too: Romans 1:26-28, Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Corinthians 6:9--10, Leviticus 20:13, Leviticus 18:22...."Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: IT IS AN ABOMINATION. (Leviticus 18:22). Homosexuals/Lesbians cannot procreate and populate. It is abundantly clear just by looking at our physical design alone, what God's intention is for mankind. Don't be deceived..

Your obsession with that one verse, which incidentally is being taken out of context from the subject matter that we are presently discussing. Either you embrace the Word of God, and accept it as the authority from God, or you don't...Can't say it anymore direct than that. But why should certain values selected from an old book of differing thoughts, opinions and events be forced now on people who don't share such beliefs and find many of the contents in the bible to be absurd not factual? Christians should surely follow Christ- when departing from Christ into other aspects of the bible, that is not necessarily anything to do with Christianity. Many forms of "Christianity" have been too controlling, repressive, hypocritical, even anti-Christ for centuries.
